Root & Pestle Kava is a distributor for Forney Enterprises Pty Ltd., based in Luganville, Vanuatu.

Forney Enterprises Pty Ltd. (whose FDA Firm Establishment Identifier is 3006269479) has had seven of their export shipments refused admission into the United States of America by the FDA, with four refusals occurring in 2017 and three occurring in 2025.

This is the Charge Statement for their 2017 refusals:

"The article is subject to refusal of admission pursuant to Section 801(a)(3) in that it appears to contain Salmonella, a poisonous and deleterious substance which may render it injurious to health."

This is the Charge Statement for their 2025 refusals:

"The article is subject to refusal of admission pursuant to Section 801(a)(3) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act) in that such article appears to have been prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions whereby it may have been rendered injurious to health."

The 2017 refusal entries are easily accessible for viewing upon searching the FDA Data Dashboard, whereas the 2025 entries may be found in all FDA REFUSAL_ENTRY CSV files after 2024 and prior to April of 2026.

Neither the Managing Director nor any of his representatives have publicly addressed any corrective action undertaken (or lack thereof) to remedy these long-standing sanitation failures.

All quite strong, I have 4 or 5 heaped tablespoons and put a little less than a litre of water with it and do 3 washes

I definitely start to feel a bit nauseous at that dose so I'd be careful

I think a finer mesh might be advisable as it seems to leave less material in my mesh bag than others such as karans kava and the water is much more milky than the brown I get from other brands

Definitely stronger too

Very much enjoyed the increased potency which basically makes up for the higher price

I had an allergic reaction to a product provided by the company - especially Melo Melo product, and I raised a complaint with hospital evidence, the company did not provide me with another alternative or replacement.
