I had my first trip with Rory's Travel last weekend and it was also my first time camping. I really enjoyed it and will definitely do both again! M

Had my first group trip with RTC recently and went to a wonderful pub called Jim of the Mills and stayed in the Anner Hotel Thurlus. It was so wonderful meeting other solo travellers and getting to know them. Everything was so well organised and the group what's app was great. Looking forward to my camping trip in Wexford next month with RTC.

Just back from a trip to Scotland from Belfast by ferry. This was very well organized, we had a base in Dumfires and had excursions each day. The lake district, Lake Windermere was the highlight for me, magnificent scenery on the drive there. Our guide and coach driver where great, very friendly and knew their stuff. The other holiday makers where equally as friendly. 10/10 for this trip.

I’ve recently joined RTC group trips .. I went to the Anner hotel and Jim O the Mill over night trip .. it was a fantastic night and met wonderful people .. I would highly recommend RTC and this trip !!

It was the perfect way to start the school holidays – two nights of pure relaxation and luxury.

Booking our spa treatments was effortless, with no issues getting appointments. The treatments themselves were heavenly! I had reflexology, while my husband enjoyed a facial, and we both left feeling completely refreshed.

The food throughout our stay was absolutely outstanding. The Slieve Russell is known to be a luxury hotel, so we expected drinks to be on the pricier side, and that was exactly the case, but it certainly didn't take away from the experience.

The swimming pool was quite busy with families, so we chose not to use it. However, if you're travelling with children, there is so much to keep them entertained. We loved exploring the walking trails, spotting the fairy trees, and seeing everything on offer, including tennis courts, adventure golf, a games room and a fantastic soft play area.

A huge thank you to Rory’s Travel for another brilliant deal. Everything was exactly as advertised, fantastic value for such a premium hotel, and we’re already looking forward to booking our next getaway!

My cousin and I have used Rories travels on several occasions travelling through the beautiful island of Ireland. I do believe the very best deal was our stay in Derry at the Waterfoot hotel, food was absolutely fantastic, the service was outstanding, comfortable beds, and well situated, just a short drive to the City centre. We will definitely go back there and we are constantly on the watch for Rories Travels excellent deals. We share our information and support for Rories Travels every opportunity we get.

I joined Rory’s Travel Club last November and it's the best £10 I spent this year. My favourite Hotel is The Burrendale Hotel and it features regularly on Rory’s Travel Club. Have now made 5 bookings from November, so delighted. Fantastic price for an overnight stay.

As a long-standing member, I have noticed a significant decline in the quality of the business and overall member experience in recent years. It feels as though so much focus has been placed on expansion, growth and launching into new markets that many of the issues closer to home are being overlooked. While growth is important, I believe a business should take care of its existing members and maintain the standards that built its reputation before focusing on the next venture. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience.

What disappoints me most isn't even the company itself anymore.

Over the years, I have watched Rory go from someone who seemed genuinely passionate about helping people travel to someone who, in my opinion, has become far too caught up in his own success. He often comes across as wanting to be the loudest person in the room, the centre of attention and the class clown, even when the situation doesn't call for it.

I also can't shake the feeling that greed has become a major driving force behind the business. I completely respect that RTC is a business and businesses need to make money. Nobody expects Rory to run a charity. However, there is a difference between building a successful business and making every decision feel like it's motivated by money.

What frustrates me is that members are the bread and butter of Rory's Travel Club. Without members, there is no RTC. We are the people paying memberships, booking trips, recommending the club to friends and family and ultimately funding the growth of the business. Yet at times I have felt as though members are taken for granted rather than appreciated.

Even the way members are interacted with online seems can often be quite rude. I have noticed more and more short, abrupt and sometimes dismissive replies on social media. Questions or feedback that could be answered warmly often seem to be met with one-word responses or snappy remarks. It may seem like a small thing, but these interactions shape how members feel. When people are supporting a business, they want to feel valued, not like an inconvenience.

On trips, I repeatedly heard complaints about how much work he had, how much it was costing him to be there, how difficult it was managing staff and how stressed he was. To be honest, that's not what people want to hear when they're on holiday. Most members are there to enjoy themselves and many have their own pressures, worries and responsibilities at home. Constantly being reminded about the owner's workload and financial sacrifices felt tone deaf, particularly when it is the members who have made that success possible in the first place.

What struck me most was the apparent lack of empathy. One interaction in particular genuinely upset me. A lady was thanking him for the opportunity to travel with the group and explained that she had recently lost her husband and that it was her first trip away since his passing. From where I was standing, the response felt incredibly cold. He barely looked up from his phone, offered a brief acknowledgement and quickly moved on. Afterwards, several women who had witnessed the exchange commented on how uncomfortable and disappointed they felt by the interaction. My heart genuinely went out to the lady.

I have also been uncomfortable with some of the content shared on social media while travelling abroad. On a number of occasions, I felt local people were being used as the subject of jokes rather than being treated with respect. Whether intended as humour or not, I found some of the posts insensitive and lacking in cultural awareness. One incident that sticks out was when he uploaded a picture of two naked Indian men on a motorbike with the caption 'forget to get dressed today lads?' - I was honestly appalled at this. I found it insensitive and completely at odds with the values of respect and cultural appreciation that I would expect from a travel company.

For me, respect, humility, kindness and gratitude matter far more than follower counts, awards or business growth. Sadly, those are the qualities I feel have become increasingly absent as the company has grown. As a member who supported RTC for years, that's the most disappointing part of all.

I recently returned from a Rory’s Travel Club group trip to Japan. The trip itself was fantastic, and the group I travelled with was lovely, but I feel there are several areas where RTC could improve the experience — especially for solo travellers.

The trip was advertised as 12 nights (but due to airline rescheduling became 13), and as a solo traveller I joined the WhatsApp group hoping for guidance on what RTC would organise versus what I needed to arrange myself. Unfortunately, there was no clear information on this. It would have been helpful if RTC had stated from the outset that they do not arrange activities, transfers, or on‑the‑ground coordination. A Zoom call much earlier on would also have helped break the ice, set expectations, and allow the group to plan transfers and activities together. As by the time the zoom call came about the group had already started booking activities together on the topics mentioned in the zoom call.

An issue arose when Hays Travel contacted one member of the group about insurance requirements for our Abu Dhabi connection due to the Iran conflict. This caused confusion and panic, with people unsure what cover was needed and some even cancelling their trip. It became clear that different Hays branches were giving out information at different times/days, and in some cases forwarding internal emails without context. I was fortunate that the Ballymena branch was clear and helpful, but others were left stressed and uncertain, and cancelled their trips due to the lack of information or clarity.

I believe RTC should have stepped in here — either by having a Hays representative in the group chat or by contacting Hays directly to provide consistent guidance to everyone. This would have prevented a lot of unnecessary worry.

Overall, Japan was incredible and the group was great, but clearer communication and better coordination between RTC and Hays would make a huge difference to future trips, especially for solo travellers.

Just back from South Africa. Rory's made everything so easy and affordable. Also checked in with our group while we were there. Great value for the trip of a lifetime!

I want to thank Rory’s travel for all the great hotel deals I got attending Galway university hospital I stayed in the Menlo park hotel 149 for b&b main course and bottle of wine, I have already stayed on different dates February, March and April another appointment in May prices of hotels are gone through the roof over 200 up on 300 some room only and the next email in from Rory’s travel Menlo Park hotel for May up a tenner 159, thank you so much you don’t realise travelling from Donegal to Galway and all procedures are on at 8 am so we have to go the night before. I done 3 cruises with Rory’s , Markree Castle Rine Hotel and Killaloe spa hotel in Clare. Well done to you all that worked with you

Recent trip to Rio De Janerio- Thank You Rory, Lily and The Team. It was amazing - met a great group of people. Best holiday at affordable cost. Looking at where next adventure will take me that to my amazement like recent trip will take me out of my comfort zone to try new things . If your Solo Traveller don’t second think booking you may go Solo however won’t be long until you make new friends. Looking forward reunion group meet in the next couple of months 👏👏 Una

Just back from my first group trip with Rory's Travel Club to Malta. Was a brilliant experience. Great planning and information from Rory's Travel club, lovely hotel in great location. Met some lovely people and had a brilliant time. Definitely recommend it 😊

We recently booked a stay at the Slieve Donard through Rory’s Travel Club and couldn’t fault the experience.

It included breakfast, spa, a room upgrade and even prosecco on arrival. Great value for what we paid! Everything was so easy to book and the whole process was really straightforward.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay and felt like we got a luxury experience without the premium cost.

Already looking forward to booking our next trip, would highly recommend!

I stayed at the Marcus hotel in Portrush with my daughter. We had a room with 2 double beds it was beautiful. Staff were very nice. It was exactly as advertised with Rory’s Travel Club. We did not drink the wine and they give us the bottle to take home. Fantastic value for money.

I've just returned from my 1st RTC group trip which was to Inis Mor one of the Aran Islands. It exceeded my expectations and I can honestly say it was absolutely amazing, from the quality of the accommodation, the brilliant facilitators and entertainment and exploring the beautiful countryside and meeting the locals. I went with zero Gaelige and left with a cupla focal, ready to take the next steps on my Irish language journey. I travelled solo, arrived a stranger and left with new friends 🧡 The price of the trip was great value for money, and I can't wait to book my next one.
