My process started with an excellent and dedicated agent by the name of Marco. He reached out and informed me of the opportunity to purchase the rental I was currently in. He didn’t know, but this was perfect timing for me! As we began the process, he was very thorough with information and how everything would go. Once we got through that he transferred me to a fantastic agent named Juan. Juan worked tirelessly to get me proper financing that worked with my budget. I was very pleased with how swiftly, proper, and efficient these two agents were. Awesome job guys! I even have a friend who’s interested just based off my experience! That speaks volumes!

Rubycar advertised a haggle free transparent process. And great 4.99 % APR. I had a loan available through USAA, at 5.67% APR (and 5.42 with automatic payment set up) and zero down. Ruby even with a co-applicant had well over 7%. But to use my own loan Ruby would charge a “cash fee” of $499 taking the vehicle over $25k by $188 and eliminating my eligibility for the federal clean energy vehicle tax credit of $4k. So in the end a big waste of time, all over $188.

The RubyCar website was easy to use in searching for a car. The buying process was easier than I expected, with very helpful staff to guide me throughout the process. The online document signing was also surprisingly easy. The only downside was that it took longer than I expected to have the car shipped to me and to complete the DMV registration process. But this is likely a downside for any online car purchase coming from out of state.

This is my 5th or 6th purchase from RubyCar, and every time the experience has been outstanding. The process is easy, transparent, and completely streamlined compared to a traditional dealership. No wasted time, no pressure—just exactly what you’re looking for. Their warranty program is excellent and gives you peace of mind with every purchase. Juan Cajigas and Margie are the best—they make everything seamless. RubyCar has been instrumental in helping me grow, and I look forward to continuing to do business with them.

This is the second car I've purchased from RubyCar and both times were quick and easy, and most importantly for me: I didn't have to put up with car dealer BS of extra fees, low-balling trade-in value, and general bad treatment.
What I liked:
1. The price on the vehicles is fair (one might be able to get a lower price elsewhere, but would have to negotiate.
2. They offer a 7-day return if the buyer doesn't like it, AND they offer a 24-month warranty on the drive train! I know of nobody else that offers that.
3. They deliver it to you anywhere in the continental US for $499, and sometimes they run free shipping specials. You can also pick it up from them if you are close enough to work for you.
4. There are no high pressure tactics. Take your time, but understand someone else could buy it before you.
5. The paperwork is all done online. You will likely have to do it during normal business hours.
6. They communicated well during the process and answered all my questions quickly.
7. The car I bought was delivered with only one key fob, so I asked about a 2nd one. The finance guy told me that if they had it, they would ship it to me (no extra charge), or reimburse me for a replacement. He contacted me that they found the key fob and would send it overnight. I had it the next morning! Note: if you've ever rented a car, you only get one key fob. They keep the spare somewhere else.
8. If you have a trade-in, they will have someone pick it up. Bonus: they prefer to wait until you have received your purchase and had a chance to drive it, probably to avoid the extra hassle of tracking down and returning your trade-in if you decide to return the purchase within the 7-day window.
9. They gave me full Kelley Blue Book value on my trade-in. I did have to submit pictures of the trade-in so they could verify the condition I claimed during the online process.
10. They sent me a PDF of the temporary registration tag and registration card while they mailed the actual temp tag and registration card so I could drive it legally until it arrived a couple days later.
Other considerations:
1. If you need a car today, RubyCar might not work for you. (Maybe if you find what you want locally it could work ...) Delivery will likely take several days since they have to arrange transport to pick up the car, and then deliver it to you. The transports are probably not single car carriers, and they may have other cars to deliver in route to your location. If you live where a semi tractor with a 53' trailer can't get to your location, you may need to meet the driver somewhere nearby. (I did.)
2. Since these are previous Avis rentals, they don't have all makes and models. The popular models also seem to sell quickly since they're are few available. Timing of when Avis decommissions their vehicles.
3. Also, because these were Avis rentals, you really don't know how they were driven. I suspect that Avis may dispose of cars that are not in the greatest condition through the wholesale market vs. RubyCar, but I don't actually know.
4. Since they prefer not to pick up your trade-in (if you have one) when they deliver your purchase, you will have that car for a few extra days.

Cindy, William, and Carolyn made this process pleasant and simple. I can’t say enough about how excellent and efficient my experience has been. I highly recommend RubyCar for future car purchases.

I bought a car with Ruby Car on 6/20/25, the delivery date was for 6/30 then they changed it to 7/1. On 6/30 the delivery person contacted me, and they said they didn't have the release papers to pick up the car. I had to reach the dealership, and they let me know that the person in charge of my case was 'busy" so I was only able to leave a message. The next day, she sent me a message that everything was squared away. 3 days later, my car was still not here, so I reached out again and she told me that the car was now scheduled for delivery on 7/5. Today 7/5, I reached out to the delivery company to check on the time of delivery, and they told me the car was not scheduled for delivery today, it will probably is going to be delivered next week, with no specific date or promise. Sadly, everything was perfect until the delivery part, and the communication from the dealer was almost none. The temporary tags they sent me expire in 10 days, and I have already received a notification from the bank that my payment is due in less than 20 days, and I don't have my car. I need someone to take charge of my case and be serious about it, and let me know when my car is going to be delivered or when I will receive my money back. I have to change my plans and spend unexpected money renting a car, every time they change the delivery date.

My experience with rubycar was outstanding. The prices are competitive and you need not worry about the vehicle being maintained properly. Description is very accurate and the delivery is seamless. The selection of vehicles is fantastic.

My car buying experience with RubyCar was seamless and strees free. I like the fact that I didn't haggle over price or deal with games from a dealership. The price of the car was also extremely competitive. The staff was friendly and professional.

Many thanks to William Love for his advice, support, help, time and perseverance. Due to our emigration, it took us some time to get everything together so that we could buy the car. At first I was skeptical as to whether I should buy a rental car at all. However, thanks to the long test drive, we could be sure that the car was in top condition.
William answered all my questions, and there were a lot of them, as I come from another country. It was never too much for him and he explained everything to me until I could understand it.

It has been a few months since we bought the car, and I still have not been sent the plates. They are unable to issue me new temp plates, so I can't even drive this car legally. They did not ask me for some apparently needed info for the perm plates until a month after I bought the car. Then I provided what they asked for, then a few weeks later they said they needed more. The car needed to be serviced just a few weeks after buying it, and it did not come with a second key as promised. It took me 4 customer service agents to get approval for me to buy my own key and have it reimbursed. The car is sitting in our driveway undrivable at the moment.

So glad I stumbled across RubyCar. I worked with Liz. She was very quick to respond and answer all of my questions.
Got a great deal and happy with both the buying and trade in process.

If I could give them a zero I would. Vehicle was delivered late and offer two temp tags I couldn’t drive my vehicle…I was without registration for 2 weeks and missed out of so much work
