Trying to hand back my car after end of pcp term . They are unreachable was on hold 45 mins then 1 hour 43 mins to get through to Michelle who then failed to follow it up ! I am now paying to have the car stored and will be sending the bill to Santander ! Absolutely disgusting customer service !!!

Was having financial difficulties with missed a payment asked for help. they didn't help me just wanted to pay back asap. Instead of putting one Missed payment on my credit record. They put five payments missed down it was only 1!

Would give 0 stars if I could. We cannot get through to arrange our end of contract options. Spent hours on the phone at all points of the day trying to get through. The regulator should be all over them if they aren’t already. A shining example of a company who do not take consumer duty and good customer outcomes seriously. In need of a large fine and being made an example of.

Hands down the worst company I've ever dealt with.

They are in total disarray, their IT and systems are all broken, they are severely understaffed, and they are highly unskilled / uniformed as to your account / case and the workings of the business.

One example - at the end of my finance agreement, having communicated multiple times that I wanted to hand back my vehicle - they took £22,000 (twenty-two thousand) pounds from my account!

They then even managed to screw up the ensuing complaints procedure!

Total Shambles.

They just don't answer the phone

This is probably the worst company I've ever had to interact with. I can't believe how bad they are.

The people you speak to on the phone are very friendly and helpful, but nothing gets fixed / changed. Ever.

A car company has chosen them for a car finance deal and Santander have now 'approved my finance', but they seem incapable of actually sending the documents through to me to sign. I've had 20+ phone calls with them over the past month and I'm meant to be picking up the new car in 1 day. But as they haven't sent me the docs to sign then I doubt I'll be able to collect it.

If you are buying a new car and have any choice in which financing company to use then I can't recommend this enough: DO NOT USE SANTANDER CONSUMER FINANCE.

Shocking customer service, can never get hold of anyone on the phone - cant log into an account they dont exist, you can only request settlements - yet I've handed back a vehicle at end of term and its been two weeks with zero letters confirming the finance is settled and cannot get hold of anyone - so far 1 hour and 10 minutes on hold, no one answering chat. Wont use Santander again

Cuando contratas un crédito son todo facilidades. Cuando lo quieres cancelar no hae forma de contactar con nadie. En el banco dicen que no depende de ellos. En las oficinas de Santander Consumer, que tiene que ser por tlf. En el tlf. dicen que por internet. En internet que lo vuelvas intentar. Unos sinvergüenzas.

Santander took a payment when they shouldn’t have as my finance was settled early and I paid in full, it’s been nearly a month now and I still haven’t received my refund of nearly £200.

Upon waiting for an hour on hold I’m now having to prove I haven’t received my money back by sending them my personal bank statement.

I’m so disheartened that it has ended like this, I just want my money back!

Absolutely shocking experience with this company most of the advisers are very rude and don’t listen just read ther script

If I could give zero stars, I would. From beginning to end, my experience has been nothing short of a disaster. There are too many issues to list, and it would take hours to explain them all. Please take this as a serious warning—avoid taking out finance with Santander Consumer Finance unless you’re prepared for constant problems and frustration.

I’d give Santander no stars if I had the option, I could write a blog about the negative experience however coming to their reviews I see that it speaks for

Theres many other finance companies,
Don’t make the same mistake that the rest of us that had to leave one star reviews did.

rude customer service. no communication. offered solution to the problem but no reply. in the process of handing my car back to them and starting a small claim to get my money back. AVOID

Absolutely DREADFUL company.
Zero customer service etiquette, staff have absolutely no knowledge of anything.

Hidden fees and Interest rates are absolutely ridiculous! And judging by the other reviews on here, people clearly all feel the same.

Aviod these useless lot at all costs!

Only finance company I deal with who are completely unable to confirm if they have received large sums of money for 3 business days even when done by faster payment (instant). Won't give clearance for 3-5 business days but countless finance providers will give clearance over the phone and email moments after funds transferred. Must be nice to be able to use the money they've received for a couple of days before applying it to the account its meant for. Currently have a finance agreement I settled on the 4th and here we are on the 9th and they are still showing an interest and saying the money "hasn't cleared" on the agreement. Rubbish, faster payments are instant.

This company is going to ruin your life.stay away from them.

terrible service no record of agreement but they seem to be able to take payments okay. Nobody seems to work there as they never answer the phone despite waiting nearly an hour. Online systems can't find details now stuck with a new VAN at the dealers and these clowns not responding. Ovoid like the plague

First, you tried to charge me for next year’s road tax on a car I returned last year. Then, you attempted to bill me for an extended lease—even though the car was returned on time. And now, you’re trying your luck again with a charge for “no service.” Impressive dedication.

Thank you for your incredibly thorough six-week investigation, which led you to the remarkable conclusion that the vehicle has no service history whatsoever. Your commitment to customer service is, quite frankly, second to none.

That said, I do have the tiniest concern that your findings might not be entirely accurate. I was all set to accept them, but then—oh, what do you know—I remembered that I had already told you the vehicle does have a full service history. Funny thing is, it took me all of four minutes to confirm this.

It’s a shame your investigative team wasn’t able to crack this particular mystery. But let me offer a little insider tip—just between us. If you call Mercedes-Benz, provide the vehicle’s registration number, and simply ask, they will magically tell you the service history. Hard to believe, I know. But don’t worry—you can thank me later.

Perhaps your team could consider this revolutionary technique in the future? Or, if that’s too much trouble, you can always stick to your usual approach—asking customers for an arbitrary £200.

Awful, awful experience. Numerous hidden charges following handover. Incredibly petty chasing me for a few hundred quid for small alloy scratches when id just payed £470 a month for 3 years and never missed a payment! They have just lost a customer who was about to renew.
GO TO LEX AUTOLEASE, they are a proper, fair lease company.
