Awful company to work for.
Awful company to work for. The mantra they love to preach during their "briefings" is along the lines of 'if you're unsure about something, ask'- but in reality, when doing that, you're spoken down to and condescended by supervisors and the management wielding foul attitudes.
Work shifts can be up past 8hrs, and they'll forget to give you a break anywhere along the period. They'll also bus you out to shifts, and forget to stand you down from your position and almost leave you on-site when it comes time to go home.
The staff who hold down in the office issuing out shifts are also awful. Numerous times i've bared witness to racist remarks being made from them regarding their mostly jobcentre-found recruits. Their clique of office staff also pry into the personal business of their recruits. "Oh he works for X other company" "They're not doing X Y or Z" "They know so'n so people".
They love to claim the job offers "On site Training", which is their cop-out wording of throwing you at a position with no useful information, then you guessed it- talking to you like less of a person when you don't have a clue what to do. They'll leave you in secluded locations in the downpouring rain, no radio, no break, no supervisor to check-in on you, and no way to get the attention of anybody should you need help. This is in light of them telling you "If you need any assistance, contact a supervisor". Well, there never is a Supervisor to be seen, and you can't leave your position less you want to be stood down and sent home without pay. Go figure.
Payment for shifts is a minefield. A lot of sites they work on, they won't pay SIA holders SIA wages. And a lot of the time they'll even mess-up signing people in for shifts and not paying them for that day they showed up. I've personally had shifts stricken from my payroll under "overpayment" being listed on the payroll as the excuse, which was a lie. When this was pointed out, the best they could do was just pay me it back NEXT payday. This has happened numerous times.
And then there's the times where they randomly seem to decide to ignore their emails for months on-end. I went for 4 months emailing their office to who's usually supposed to give me shifts. And never got a reply once within that 4 month period.
They don't like you working for other companies while you're with them, but meanwhile they'll-
* Treat you like less of a person.
* Fail to give you enough hours.
* Fail to pay you your SIA wage for being SIA on shifts.
* Fail to pay you for your worked hours.
* Fail to supply you with the support and training.
