A course that I genuinely enjoyed and would recommend for anyone interested in the aesthetics of scientific communication

Jernej hast put together a very clear concept and helpful guideline for (scientific) visual communication. His videos are easily understandable and the live session comes with enthusiasm and patience.

Dr. Jernej Zupanec clearly is an expert in the matter. His self-study videos were clear, easy to understand and entertaining. In addition all the material was excelent in content. I am very happy with this workshop.

It was a very formative event, an eye-opening training that gave me new tools to communicate my ideas better to others, allowing me to be more competitive.
I appreciated the self-studied part because I could go at my own pace. It is great that these videos will be available for the next 12 months because I could use them again to refresh the concepts. The video about the grants is very useful because it provides the evaluators' perspective.

Fantastic course with super insightful advice that we can easily apply for much more effective visuals. Understandable, practical and well-presented. I'm excited to apply these lessons to my next presentations and reports!

I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop led by Dr. Jernej Zupanc. His enthusiasm and dedication were evident, and he invested much time and effort in preparing for the session. Despite the complexity and amount of our figures, he meticulously reviewed each one and provided insightful feedback. His clear explanations made everything easy to grasp, and many participants, myself included, left feeling highly satisfied. The workshop was incredibly valuable, and my skills in presentation and visualizing figures have improved significantly. Thank you😊

The course is a good start for anyone who doesn't know anything about visualization. It contains a lot of practical advise and exercises. The instructor tries to have everyone on board. However, there were moments when the instructor's approach felt somewhat "top down." In situations where multiple interpretations were possible, the instructor often presented his perspective as the only valid one. While his expertise is undeniable, a more open dialogue could have enriched the learning experience by embracing diverse viewpoints.

The presentations were very engaging and interesting. The pace at which the course progressed was satisfactory.

It is really professional for letting your audience to understand you effortlessly by using the strategies in the course. Impressive is the color connection, which I had never taken into account. There are a branch of meaningful information. Thank you very much.

The information available in the video lecutres was extremely useful and diverse. I learned so many important things in this course.
Another great feature was the good and bad samples presented - it allowed to compare both and learn what works and what doesn't.
Live session was also very useful and time ran by very quickly.

The course was surprisingly useful! Often these courses can be very "theoretical" and hence not so useful. But I was surprised by how rigorous, clear and down-to-earth this course was. You are explained the theory behind the method and you learn through real-life applications, e.g. by discussing published material in science. Every lesson is bite-sized so it is all very easily digestible. Most of all, I appreciated picking up a language to critically talk about science visualization/communication, as well as a number of tips and tricks (and tools) which I will certainly use in the future.
Would recommend highly!
