Foreign Platform “ShoPEE ” Flouting Malaysian Consumer Rights

I am writing to express my profound frustration and outrage regarding Shopee, the Singapore-based online marketplace that operates with complete disregard for Malaysian consumer rights. past experiences nothing short of a nightmare, highlighting their abysmal customer service and a refund process that is nothing less than a farce.

After purchasing an item that was not only incomplete but also misrepresented, I engaged in a conversation with the seller, who shockingly admitted to committing fraud and scamming me. I have screenshots of this admission, yet when I presented this evidence to Shopee, they simply shrugged it off. To make matters worse, I discovered that Shopee allows sellers to modify their listings both before and after a purchase, creating confusion for buyers. This is akin to tampering with evidence and is completely unacceptable.

Despite having clear proof of the seller's wrongdoing, including their own admission and the altered listings, Shopee’s customer service showed no concern whatsoever. They rejected my claims with a casual disregard, as if my rights as a consumer and the Malaysian legal system were of no consequence to them.

This blatant disregard for our laws is alarming. Shopee is not just providing poor service; they are actively undermining consumer protections and enabling fraudulent behavior. I call upon the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN) to take immediate action against these practices.

It is unacceptable for a foreign platform to operate in Malaysia while bullying customers and ignoring our legal framework. I strongly urge anyone considering using Shopee to think twice. Until they address these serious issues, I cannot recommend this platform to anyone.

Encargue un producto y me enviaron otro producto nada que ver .no es nada confiable.

They have a lot of merchants and cheap products. But they don't really have a serious delivery system like Amazon. They don't offer certain level of warranty like on Alibaba. Drivers don't text nor call to plan their drop. Everything is totally random.
Moreover, Shopee solves disputes really in favor of the sellers even if the seller use misleading informations like descriptions and pictures that are not about the product shipped.

This pathetic company is now complete garbage. Yet again , they have messed up my account...supposedly blocked because of "unusual activity on my account". Trying to force me to get some stupid bloody Shopee app on my cp instead of using my pc. No thanks. You're not syphoning off all my personal contacts et al. I can't even close my account without using the Shopee app. No problem though, I'll just use Lazada 100% now. Bye bye useless Shopee.

All I want to do is use Shopee (Malyasia) on my PC/ Laptop. It is a very simple, common thing to do; right? Shopee site won't run on my PC on any of my 3 browsers... it is a round and round circus with a stupid QR Code! Keeps forcing me onto my mobile phone, this is useless for me. I have instead opened an account with Shopee competitor (name starts with L). Bad news Shopee for driving customers away.

This dumbshitsfuckery I've clicked the Tap & Win for 2 yrs & a 1/2. Never win a 100 coins till now.

Constantly ask you to check you are human with stupid mini games. Unsuitable for browsing. Like a lot e-commerce in the region. BAD!

I was logged into Shopee on my laptop. Suddenly it bumped me out. When I try to get back in I get a "something went wrong" message and instruction to continue on the Shopee app on my mobile. I contacted Shopee helpdesk. They say there was "unusual activity" on my account and I can only continue in the app not on my laptop. They refuse to fix this and refuse to give any help.

The worst experience of my life. When ordering, it was stated that the goods would be in 2 days, in the end I waited 2 weeks and in the end their couriers did not deliver the goods.
They simply indicated that I refused the goods, although they were not here. It turns out that I waited 2 weeks in vain, it would have been better to order elsewhere.
I highly do not recommend the service.

Shopee is one of the best online shopping platform if you ever stay in South East Asia for more than a week.

Obviously you will need a local phone number to use it.
Once you do, you will get access to everything and anything: daily utilities, skincare, cosmetics, personal hygiene products, board game, clothing, accessories, even home appliances, electronics, and FOOD.
It's especially helpful when you are in a big city like Hanoi or HCM city and you don't know any way around yet.

They have several shipping option to choose from, but it's also depending on the seller.

This company in all countries discriminates against the handicapped. I advise all handicapped people of the world to avoid using this company. I am a handicapped person (housebound). As I not mobile (without assistance) I rely on the internet for many things. Shopee FORCE the use of mobile app. I do not own a mobile phone as I use a fixed line at home. Also, their only email address known does not accept any emails. Very disreputable behaviour. Thier so called support function is limited to promoting use of app and does not have an answer to the obvious questions.

The goods I ordered where broken and did not fit what it was ordered for. Shopee refused to take it back. Never trust this rip off company.

I have to admit that the prices of good on Shopee are quite competitive but that's only if you receive the goods in proper condition. Shopee customer service is non-existent and I am amazed that their senior management is oblivious about what's happening. The whole chat process seems to be set up for the purpose of "patronizing" customers. They dont even know the process well. I have been misadvised by one of their customer service officer about Return & Refund eligibility and after that, there is absolutely no way for one to follow up. Their KPIs seem to be closing the chat ASAP and they couldnt care if the issue is properly resolved. It is no wonder majority of the rating for them is One star. Enough said...

The platform isn’t very transparent with their billing. The total price at the preview page is very different after you click Checkout. Sometimes shipping and/or vouchers discounts will be removed at Checkout, so pay attention. The explanation they gave was voucher T&C.

Then why was I able to apply the voucher to the product in the first place? If it’s not a valid voucher, I shouldn’t be able to use it. This is definitely a platform issue. They designed it so you think you are getting all the discounts but when you checkout it’s a different story. This is classic bait-and-switch and it should be illegal.

Pay extra attention to the price breakdowns when you shop at Shopee.

Another issue is they partner with unprofessional courier service (SPX Express). Some of the couriers dispatchers don’t call when delivering even after being instructed to. Some just leave your package outside for all to see and don’t bother attempting second or third deliveries like other couriers do. Good luck if you lose the package because the dispatcher will just take a photo of the package and deemed it delivered.

Bad delivery. The Guy who delivery my Xbox controller throw up in my front door and wrecked the right sticker. Now, what shopee ?

Most annoying company everywhere they pop up I would never ever buy anything from shopping because of your aggressive advertisment i will als ask all my friends to do the same total boycot on shopee the sales and marketing team should be sacked or whoever came u with this aggressive advertising
