SKYLINE REMOVALS LIMITED Reviews 

We hired this company who conducted a first assessment remotely, this happened in March 2020, prior to lockdown, and received a quote of £2450.00 for the full removal. When we realised there would be no time for a full move due to sudden lockdown measures, we relocated temporarily with only a small amount of personal effects and used a local firm instead and a small van. We recontacted Skyline in September to organise the original move and explained we had only taken a few items with us and the bulk was still to be moved and went over again what needed transport (from London to Cornwall). To be safe, we did another remote visual survey. We started packing and requested them to bring us packing materials, which they did and at the same time they carried out another visual survey. As there were workmen redecorating the upper floor, we could not give them access but trusted that the original surveyor had made note of what needed removing. They decided on that day to reduce the size of the vans, despite the fact that we requested a larger size. On the day of the removal, the vans they sent were not large enough for all the needed transporting. They had to send one van back, come back with another, and we had to pay another £600 on top of the original quote, despite there being less to transport and having done most of the packing ourselves. Additionally, the packing service is of very poor quality: the men do know how to safely pack fragile items, do not label boxes, broke a glass item and never offered compensation, did not come with enough packing tools, and were not skilled in knowing how to correctly stack boxes - according to content - either in the van or in the storage units. Lastly, when we became concerned about the way they were working they became very annoyed and uncooperative, packing items we specifically asked them not to as they needed to come with us in our car (this included an iPad which was needed for work on that day). When it came to unloading at the other end we were told we had to pay the extra £600.00 which we were forced to do as they threatened to leave with the trucks and our belongings. When we put in a complaint, none of our issues were addressed satisfactorily. We did not even get a refund on the very poor quality packing, or the damaged glass item. As we have not been able to access the storage yet, while in temporary accommodation and waiting to move, we are dreading doing so as we are sure there will be more damage but clearly no recourse. Please use another firm if possible.

The communications with the office was first-rate. The removal team were prompt, worked quickly but carefully. They were friendly, courteous and very efficient. I would highly recommend them.

I am writing this review to try and save people the stress of using this appalling firm. They caused over £1000 of damage to my personal goods, damaged to the property i was leaving and then when i reported this to them, they called me a liar (that is a direct quote). The "team" did not wear PPE at all during any of the move when they were face to face with me which is obviously a massive concern, but then when i challenged them over this they called me a liar. the ironic thing is that they smashed the back of a £750 child wardrobe, then put it back together with masking tape to hide the damage rather than own up to it. They knocked a light switch off of the wall at the old property and caused 5 or 6 deep digs into the wall as they clearly didn't know how to move furniture properly. None of the the settees or mattresses were wrapped in protective covering (as is standard practise) and as a result we ended up with dirt smears across both mattresses and one sofa. They also did not wear foot coverings, instead opting to tread mud throughout the carpets

They also took a very expensive Lego of my young sons, and threw it into a box smashing it to pieces which my son is distraught about. They actually admitted to doing that on the day which in hindsight is quite surprising seeing as they have denied everything else, as have the company despite me providing photographic proof.

Pleas stay well away from this company, they are truly awful, know nothing about customer service and you will risk your goods being damaged by using them.

A true disgrace of a firm and one you should not touch with a bargepole.

Fantastic service before the home removal, answering any questions in advance. On the day, a really good service helping me move from London to Manchester.

Very friendly and professional staff. The move went very smoothly. Will use them again for my move. Recommended.

These cowboys were contracted in by a big sofa company to deliver . Unfortunately they stole items from my property ( they did however return them two days later) that was caught all on my cctv. So I would be completely weary of using them to complete any removals work-

You guys obviously do know who I am as we’ve been emailing and I’ve been told you guy took items from my house without criminal intent but agreed he shouldn’t have taken them. As for the review being fake , after your numerous failed attempts to get it removed it’s still here for the world to see as I have all the proof that it’s a genuine review. I’m a busy guy I don’t have time to review people as you can see I’ve left bad reviews before as I believe everybody has a right to know who they’re dealing with. In this case for yourselves a bunch of cowboys

The day of the move went very smoothly, mainly due to the speed at which the Skyline team emptied our property, allowing our sale and purchase funds to go through! The team were very professional and the office staff were very accommodating when dealing with requests and even increasing the scope of our move.

Skyline were affordable and it was money very well spent. I would certainly use them again and recommend them to friends and family.

Very reasonable price and available at very short notice. Professional and polite.

The team of four were great - we were quite stressed about the whole thing and their positive attitude helped bring us down to earth. Really can't fault them even a little bit! They were courteous, hard-wrorking, tolerant of the kids being around, and let us know when they had a (very short) break. Communications beforehand were efficient and clear.

We had a great experience with Skyline who provided the best quote for us and kept in brilliant contact with me in the weeks leading up to our move. Lyla responded to several questions very quickly and was of great help. The movers turned up on time and did a top job transporting everything. Thanks!

Used them again for my son's house move. They (team) did great job with their excellent skills. Carefully moved 3 van stuff with no damage whatsoever.

We chose this company because of it's excellent reviews... They arrived with a very small van which could only fit 1/3 of the house contents even though they came to evaluate before hand. They suggested unloading on the pavement and returning to get the rest???? They broke and damaged several items and we have completed an insurance claims form 3 months ago and since then silence. My parents are over 80 years old and their bed is broken, making it difficult for them to use it. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
So now the truth.. You are not insured? If this is the case it is not surprising that we have not had a reply. My parents bed is under guarantee so unfortunately if the garantee is to continue it has to be repaired by Tempur. We do not need thousands of pounds we just need a safe bed. Of course you know all this but people who read your review don't. And calling a customer a lyer is never good for business, it shows that you have no after sales service.
Which insurance? Where is the letter from the insurance? And If anybody wants photos I have many, we will see you in court.

Lyla and the team were superb from start to finish and made our two part move, all arranged whilst we were outside of the UK, a real breeze with no stress whatsoever! Nothing was too much trouble and the price of the move, disposal of unwanted items, storage and second part of our move, was really reasonable. Lyla responds to emails immediately with straight to the point answers.
I couldn’t recommend Skyline highly enough and I only wish I had the chance to meet the team to thank them in person!

The Skyline team arrived promptly at the agreed time and efficiently and carefully packed the van with the contents. After double checking delivery address they departed. Whilst on route they checked to make sure that I was also progressing to the delivery address ok. At the other end the unloading was really fast and everything made it with no damages or issues. They even returned as we had missed part of the bed based, but they returned and dropped this off with no problem. I would recommend getting a physical survey though as I had more stuff than I had imagined and so this will void any issues with overloading of the van.

The move was for my daughter. The driver arrived on time, friendly and helpful.
All in all very good and I will recommend.
