The Slate Workshop Reviews

Very friendly knowledgeable and efficient service.
High quality product. So good to speak to someone on the phone.

quick response, friendly, local service, like it used to be. Ben was quick to respond to any questions and give positive input in the design, the plaque arrived extremely well packed, and on time. The plaque itself is of a far superior standard than what was expected, the quality of the slate and workmanship far exceed my expectations. Ben will be my first choice for any slate items in the future

Ben designed and delivered an excellent plaque for our memorial at Clandon Woods. I can highly recommend the Slate Workshop. Thanks Ben!

Ben was very easy to deal with and his work magnificent.

Ben Thomas at Slate Workshop was very prompt replying to my email (on a Sunday)! regarding a memorial plaque for my husbands ashes. His sentsitive manner and following quote was much appreciated and the order arrived in time for it to be installed for a special day as promised by Ben.

Ben was very responsive and helpful. He provided a number of different options for us and worked with us to get it right.

Ben produced the most amazing slate plaque for me which had been beautifully made and tailored just the way I wanted. I was thrilled. Real craftsmanship and excellent service. High quality and lovely Welsh slate. Perfect.

Really impressed with Ben at Slate Workshop. He responded quickly to my initial enquiry and having drawn up roughly what I wanted on my memorial plaque, he sent me the design for approval.

I chose honed Welsh slate and had the lettering picked out with enamel paint. It was important that the dimensions matched those specified by Clandon Wood as it lays flat over the grave at the natural burial site.

It arrived soon after approval, well-packaged and my family are delighted with the finished item.

Ben was professional, sympathetic and not phased by an unusual request. The memorial plaque was exactly what we wanted and it arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

Beautiful engraved slate plaque for our community wildlife scheme. Delivery was arranged to suit my schedule. Very happy customer.

Friendly, helpful, understanding. I asked for a plaque to be completed at short notice as I had a deadline. Despite being busy, Ben was sympathetic to my dilemma, and went above and beyond expectations to ensure I had the plaque in time for a centenary celebration. Quality of the product is excellent, and all who have seen it have commented how good it is.

Communicating with The Slate Workshop was easy and replies were prompt. I ordered a memorial plaque. It was delivered in good time and I was very pleased with it.

Ben was incredibly helpful on the phone, and just as importantly he did what he said he would do! I received a suggested design, which was just what was asked for. After agreeing the design, the finished product arrived when Ben said it would, and it was exactly as asked for - highly recommended.

We contacted Ben to enquire about a new slate house sign on a Saturday, he replied quickly, sent some suggestions and a mock-up design and then we spent a couple days deciding what size to go with. We placed our order early the next week and our beautiful slate sign had arrived by the Thursday! Absolutely superb craftmanship and customer service.

We needed a new house sign to replace a hideous metal one when we moved into our new home, The Slate Workshop made us a fantastic sign with authentic thick Welsh slate in no time at all. Ben designed the layout and provided us with proofs on a couple of ideas/sizes for us to choose from. We were kept up to date with the process from start to finish and picked up our beautiful new sign yesterday and we can't wait to put it on the front of the house.

I can’t rate this company highly enough. Their customer service snd communication is exemplary. They went above and beyond to turn my order around in 48 hours. We’re thrilled with the house number and road name plaque. High quality workmanship.

Ben - I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your craftsmanship in producing the sign for our home – we are delighted with the finished product and Dad is thrilled with his belated Father's Day gift. You are a very skilled and thoughtful craftsman and we will be purchasing from you in the future.
Once we have the sign in place, I will take a photograph and send to you.
Thank you once again.

We arranged for a slate house sign in Welsh for a brother's new house in Australia. It was lovely, beautifully crafted and almost tactile, and surpassed our expectations. Everyone who has seen it has admired it, and it will add a wonderful flavour of home down under.
