Logged into my banking app and noticed this company called social protect has helped themselves to £9.99 of my hard earned cash how these type of companies can get away with this type of business is beyond me.its downrite fraud and if that was anybody else doing that they would find themselves on the wrong side of the law they should be avoided at all costs and first thing in the morning I will be reporting this transaction as fraudulent it's just a pity you have to give at least 1 star because it should be in the no star bracket

They masquerade as a loan company/broker.
I was looking for a loan and I got asked to authorise £0.14 on my card because that's where the loan would be paid.
Next thing I get no loan and an email saying I'm subscribed for £9.99 a month. I thought it was sent in error and ignored it.
The first payment went out of my bank today. I called Barclays and told them about the fraudulent company and the bait and switch tactics. A nice lady reversed the transaction almost immediately. I even got my £0.14 back.

i had never heard of this company in till today.. and i had the BIGGEST SHOCK when i went to the bank today.. a account was opened with 'socialprotect.uk' in may 2021 with my bank details attacked as direct debit.. they have taken £38.96 from my account over the passed few months without my knowledge, but what made this worse as a single mother of 2 girls under the age of 3, i rely on what little money i have, for nappies milk ect.. you can only believe my shock when i went to take out my last £15 for the week, to see my bank was now on £2.11.. how was i to get nappies and milk for my baby and toddler.. how can these people get away with this with no consequences.. unfortunately the bank was unable to help apart from cancelling any further payments being taken.. 1 ANGRY MAMA TODAY !!!

Got a text from them on a saturday saying my account with them has been set up. I clicked the link and the site explained I had a data breach 2019. That was before I even had this phone number. My main fear is that by clicking on the link I may have given some fraudulent group even more access to my phone and personal details and I do not know how bad this might be for me in the future.can anyone advise?

9.99 taken from bank today, I did not set up a direct debit with them, hadn't even heard of them before.
Rang bank who were brilliant and immediately cancelled the direct debit and luckily were able to reverse it in time to stop them getting the 9.99.

If I can give them a negative review, I'd gladly do that. I received an email early in the morning confirming my account with them and they'll be charging me soon. I clearly can remember that I NEVER ticked any boxes to set-up an account nor given permission for them to charge my bank. Sent them an email to cancel my account but I have not received any reply yet.

I received an email saying that my direct debit has been set up and payments of £9.99 a month will be taken out of my account. I DO NOT KNOW THIS COMPANY. I have never heard of them. As I have relatives that work for the BBC I have asked if they could fast track my Watchdog application and consider looking into this company as it appears that this scam is hurting many people. I will also be going to the ombudsman and the police today to see what can be done. DUSGUSTING behaviour

I had noticed some emails from them but just dismissed them as junk because I had never heard of them. I noticed on by bank app that a debit had been taken by them. I googled them and got a phone number to call. I called them and told them that I had noticed the debit taken but that I had no idea who they were and had not authorised this!. They asked for my email and postcode then told me that my subscription had now been cancelled. A subscription i never asked for or agreed too. They ended the call there. Total scam and I still don't know how they managed this. I believe it all revolves around applying for a quick short term loan. I would say avoid them but then again I did not knowingly sign up with them.

Complete scam! Took money out of my account without my knowledge. Customer service are awful and refused to refund. Whenever I asked to speak to a manager I was told no one was available. I was insistent on them refunding me, not in a rude manner but they terminated my call 3 times!! Fortunately my bank were quick to refund the money when I contacted them and I was advised by my bank this is a common thing with this company. How do they get away with it????

Same as all the other reviews . Searching for a loan then the next thing an email saying I had signed up to them for 9.99 a month . I did cancel the membership but worried now that they will still take money from my bank as this has happened to me in the past .

Total scam, I applied for a loan, but did not accept any offers. After checking my email I noticed an email from this company, which I certainly did not sign up for. I emailed them straight away and sent an email confirming I firstly had never heard of them, secondly, I certainly do not give permission to take any money out of my account. Thankfully, I got an email stating your subscription has been cancelled, a subscription I did not sign up for! Shocking how they could potentially decieve people, and take money for a service, without being honest and transparent. I will be keeping a close eye on my account.

Scam, masquerading as "data breach protection service".

They emailed me to say I'd set up a £9.99 monthly direct debit, which I had not knowingly done.

I was unable to log into my account as I couldn't remember the password I hadn't set.

To cancel your "membership" you may have to reset password. You can then do so in your account settings.

I'll be waiting to see if any money is taken out this month. If it is there will be a formal complaint heading to whoever deals with fraud. Parasites.

Beware of a scam that when applying for a loan the application automatically signs you up for a £9.99 per month social media & fraud alert service which you did not give any clear consent to order which you become aware of if you notice the £9.99 per month being taken by direct debit. The direct debit scheme will refund but if you get an SMS text from socialprotect offering you deals with credit then go to their website and cancel the subscription you did not decided to join or call them to stop the subscription 0125 3277147 ask for an email to confirm cancellation also you can email them socialprotect.uk

Scam, taking £9.99 out of my account and saying that I signed up to them- Never heard of this company nor would I have ever signed up knowingly to a service like this. They are refusing to refund the money they have stolen and from looking online I am not the only one either.

SCAM!!! They took £9.99 from my account without my knowledge. No idea how they got my details and are refusing to refund me. Rude and unhelpful.
