Songbay is the name of the site, SoulFaze is a kind of brand name it appears. Imagine running a business through another business and giving yourself lots of stars as a cover up of bad practice. Anyway, Songbay advertising that lyric or song writers pay a subscription and upload music and words for music buyers to buy and use. It advertises over 100,000 music creators on its site and a marketplace for buyers and sellers. I made an internal request to know how many buyers there are/how many sales or songs, lyrics or copyrights were made between 2025-2026. I got a polite 'nothing to see here' message. I pushed further and got a very aggressive 'how dare you insult us, your account is deleted and banned' message. Basically, it appears to be a huge scam. The few people who do sell a song report on it (what a surprise) but nobody knows numbers, there is no clarity of information and the practice is clandestine in the extreme. Engage only with a heavy dose of cynicism and I would avoid totally.

In response to the reply I have received. Ironic that they discuss confidentiality when they are happy to identify a single person on this site. I did not ask for any confidential information, I asked for numbers, pure and simple. I asked because I wanted to know exactly what the rate of people being able to sell lyrics, songs and copyrights were. This is entirely reasonable when trying to use a service. I got in response a lot of jargon which said nothing. Let's be clear Songbay is happy to advertise how many people are creators but not how many sales people can make. I'd say this is worth questioning.

I am supporter of Songbay and would recommend them to all songwriters, I most like that they are managed by talented musicians, who know what they are talking about

Songbay, you stated that you all do not engage in getting paid Royalties which is understandable. When I first paid for my Songbay subscription there was no fill-in information section in order to receive payment for song sales through PayPal,
I never seen it. I did in fact send an email regarding the matter and my email went unanswered. However, I thank you for my refund.

Full marks for Gary, his team and artists who brought together, from our raw demo, a great new high end production of 'Another Whisky Down' and one we're proud to put out as Country Blue. I look forward to collaborating again, with several more songs waiting in the wings.

Have just signed up to this site, cannot do anything, uploading is a joke, including profile picture, try to contact them via their "contact us" page, an even bigger joke, type in any problem and it can't find any of them. They don't even have a cancellation page, so, if you do read these reviews, get back to me via my email as I want to cance my subscription.

Easy to post lyrics for sale, and it's a neat place for micro-artists like me to store and keep track of their material. Some of my specific songs show up in Google search results, as does my page. They make custom live recordings from AI generated songs, at subsidized rates. They take care in this song conversion process, and the tracks I've had converted, were excellent. Email communications have many typos, I assume this is from using AI in replies, or for some other reason.

In regards to the common complaints in other reviews-

1. Registering (1) song with the U.S. Copyright office, costs over $200. ALL of your songs can be registered with Songbay for about $80 a year. So regardless of what you think of the validity of the copyright protection offered, you can have certificates and documentation for up to 50 songs, for 2 years, for the price of (1) through the U.S. Copyright office. If you only have 1 or 2 songs to protect, simply pay and register those with the Copyright Office. If you are a income earning, commercial artist, you wouldn't be posting your stuff here at all, and then the validity of the certificates is a moot point.

2. If no one is buying your songs, that is not Songbay's fault. I have about 40 tracks on there, and have yet to sell any lyrics. That could simply be because of the absurd volume of available lyrics and finished songs in the world (Spotify gets around 100,000 song submissions PER DAY, and some say that figure is closer to 500,000 now with AI), and not necessarily due to Songbay.

Overall, Songbay delivers what I expected to get out of it, and the live song conversions are the best, and most useful feature.

The problem with songbay is that they not only remove your music if
a subscription expires which ok maybe you can wear but the so-called copyright disappears too. This doesnt seem an appropriate way to copyright then.

In response to the reply I can only say copyright protection does require ongoing vigilance but it remains a poor man's copyright if it depends on subscription and us in fact not legally copyright protection at all. I use copyright house for copyright and it is permanent and unlimited. I was looking to copyright with songbay but having checked up and saw if was not permanent and therefore illusory I decided to use a trusted one instead. It is good though that you recognize the gap and plan to fill this and of course you are entitled to charge for the service, but the idea of temporary copyright is absurd and not legal copyright at all.But I'm glad you are updating your service.

With expert help and advice, Songbay is a brilliant organisation for breaking into the world of lyric and songwriting, along with selling works, collaborating with others and getting your work onto the relevant platforms. When I've sought advice or help, it was given willingly and was clearly backed by a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry.

Si les pudiera dar cero estrellas se las daría resulta que pagué una suscripción premium porque estaba desesperada para vender mis composiciones actualmente tengo 17 años hice hasta los métodos imposibles tratando de contactar las entre comillas personas que hacían parte de esa página y todas eran falsas me encontré también con una chica justo de mi edad que se había dado cuenta desde hace meses pagando suscripción y se dio cuenta que eran falsas después que yo de tanto estarme quejando y buscando el servicio de ayuda me bloquearon la cuenta después que pagué la suscripción y hasta el día de hoy no puedo entrar es una página fake no se dejen llevar por las apariencias ni mucho menos se suscriban a songbay

This is the website that I use for most of my music things. They are reliable and the song improvement/lyric to song feature is unmatched. I love them!

Joined songbay about a month ago and to be honest, it was pretty disappointing. Nearly all the Music Industry contacts are none existent, outdated. Information I can easily find myself on google. It might work for some, but it certainly didn't work for me.

I've just been to the Sanremo music festival (Italy), having met up with a Songwriter whom I met and collaborate with at Songbay-such a fantastic experience- thanks to the people at Songbay for making this happen!

What a fantastic company! Thank you so much guys! I have sold couple of my songs on Songbay in 2020 lockdown and to be honest that was what kept me going during that horrid time. Last year I discovered something very exciting here on Songbay - collaboration zone! Teamed up with a cool lyricist. Guess what? Sold our first song in 2023 - what great new year present!

A good service for songwriters. I use them for copyrighting my lyrics. The collaboration features seem very interesting. I hope to get this up and running soon
