The staff was helpful BUT not satisfied with my lenses.
The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, very nice. However, my prescription is not good (distance portion great!! Up close portion - horrible, not even usable). I do feel like I was pressured into the progressive lenses; it felt as if that were my only option. There should have been a more in depth discussion of the single vision option and the cost differences. The sales person did explain that with the progressives there would be an adjustment period (turning my head, tilting my head to see that portion of the lens) however the things she described did NOT include the change in depth perception that impacts ambulation, general mobility, stair negotiation and general exercise. These lenses have affected my balance and I feel like I have to be extra careful while wearing my glasses. This really alters your perception of where you are in space when looking down. MAYBE I will adjust but I am 51 years old, so my balance is changing and it's not really worth the risk. The prescription for the close up vision is not great (blurry, not really able to even utilize the way intended). Additionally, I have to turn my head in a non useful manner to utilize that portion. It's not helpful AT ALL. I find I am taking my glasses off to see UP CLOSE MORE now that I have these lenses. I cannot even use my computer without taking my glasses off and this was not an issue prior to these lenses. I most likely will purchase a separate pair of cheaters as these are really not functional. I should have just gotten the distance vision prescription for these glasses. Lesson learned - I'll never do progressives again. You really need to stress to people the impact to other areas of mobility (not just that you have to alter your head position) progressives can have ESPECIALLY older individuals who have balance impairments already.
