Customer service was beyond professional and Sergio was professional when ensuring that my son’s glasses fit well and was the correct prescription. I recommend to others to use this business to get glasses. I am so satisfied that I myself will be back for contact lenses.

My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised by the courtesy, thoughtfulness and helpful nature Travis the standard optical representative was. From the moment we walked in he was professional, welcoming, helpful, engaging and genuine. We felt comfortable with his suggestions and ultimately our new specs. We all walked away very happy. Thank you standard optical. The only thing I would say was negative was how expensive it all was, otherwise it was great.

Buyer beware.

This was, without question, the worst experience I’ve ever had buying eyeglasses.

After more than 30 days, I still didn’t have my glasses and ultimately canceled my order because I completely lost confidence in Stanton Optical’s ability to get a simple order right.

The problems started immediately. My phone number had been entered incorrectly in their system, so every time I called they couldn’t even find my order using my phone number—they always had to search using my birthdate. I spoke with customer service and the store directly on four separate occasions, and not a single person thought to correct the incorrect phone number in their system. That’s an internal mistake that I had no way of knowing about or fixing myself.

About two and a half weeks into the process, I was told my glasses were ready. I drove to the store only to find out they only had my lenses—not the frames. They apologized and promised they would call me as soon as everything arrived. Of course, no one ever called.

About four weeks after placing my order, I called again. This time I specifically asked, “Are you absolutely sure everything is ready—the lenses and the frames?” I was assured that everything was complete.

I drove back to the store only to discover they had ordered the wrong frame in the wrong color.

They then tried fitting my lenses into a different frame they had in the store, but the lenses didn’t fit. Thankfully, I had a picture of the correct frame on my phone, and after showing it to them they admitted they didn’t have the right one in stock. I was then promised that an employee would personally drive to the Bandera location to pick up the correct frame and that my glasses would be ready by 5:00 p.m. that same day. They had me write my number down on a sticky note and told me they would call me that day when they were ready.

Once again…no phone call.

When I called the next day, they still didn’t have the frame.

At that point I was done. After more than a month of broken promises, poor communication, wasted trips, and repeated mistakes, I canceled the entire order.

They offered me prescription sunglasses as compensation. I declined because, after everything that had happened, I honestly had no confidence they could even get that order right.

The biggest problem wasn’t just the delays—it was the complete lack of communication and attention to detail. Every step of the process involved another mistake, another promise, and another disappointment.

And even when I went to pick up my glasses for a return, they packaged everything up for me and of course when I open the package to double-check everything, they were not the correct glasses! They were scrambling to find the right order. Ridiculous beyond belief.

At some point I even started to question if I was on a hidden camera show of some sort because everything that could go wrong was going wrong.

This was my personal experience, and based on it, I cannot recommend Stanton Optical. There are too many other optical providers out there to risk going through what I did. BUYER BEWARE.

My order of glass was wrong
I ordered one with clear vision and a pair of sunglasses both eye glasses are clear. The girls there said they could not correct the error they made. That there was no satisfaction guarantee. It is not my first time I order eye glasses from this optical. I hope you have a better customer service and guarantee. 👎

Quick and easy

I referred my friend Laura to go see Sergio Garcia, at the Potranco location to get her new glasses, he was so helpful & knowledgeable. Great store, great prices..

I would give a zero if I could. It was high pressure sales first of all, with inflated pricing. Second, they had to do my exam twice and still didn't do it correctly because the glasses that were ordered I still could not see out of. And to get a refund . I am having to hump through hoops and still have to pay for the exam that was not done correctly and an additional 60 for the financing fees. What a rip off stay away from here!! Go to Costco eye exam or any other place NOT here.

The staff is courteous, helpful and attentive. Jamie, who initially assisted me, is a gem. Personally an optician or someone trained as such should be made available so adjustments can be made accordingly at time of pick up.
