I had my first facial at S Thetics today and it far exceeded my expectations. I initially thought it would be two standard facials, but it was a completely tailored, holistic experience—from lymphatic drainage with inflatable compression, to detailed face and neck massage, deep cleansing, oxygen and light therapy. Miss Balaratnam’s approach is highly personalised and grounded in clear, thoughtful explanations informed by her medical expertise. It felt both results-driven and deeply restorative—at times almost like spiritual healing. I left having learned a great deal about my skin and how to actively repair long-term damage. A truly exceptional experience.

Last week I felt like my face had lost definition and it had been a while since I had any filler. After my usual very warm welcome to the clinic, Ms Balaratnam examined my face and to my surprise asked me to come to another room and lay down and allow her to perform something called a facia reset. It was a very relaxing, soothing and enjoyable experience and I could feel something shift, moving away from my face, releasing. The treatment was performed by hand, and she explained was draining my lymphatic system. After around 20 minutes I sat up and looked in the mirror and was flawed by the result. My face looked lifted and my jawline and cheekbones were visible again. She had identified that I have had a period of stress and this was causing blockages by just examining my face. I had indeed been through some personal issues. On this day there was no need for filler intervention! I left feeling refreshed lighter and ever so grateful to have such the care of such a wonderful physician who was so in tune with my needs and provided what i needed rather than just what I thought I wanted.

I have been attending the S-thetics clinic for several months seeking long-term improvement to my skin. The clinic is a haven of peace tranquility and prioritises the utmost care and the optimum treatment for the client.

Whilst there I was given the opportunity to experience the Exomind treatment, a non-invasive brain stimulating therapy. I had been suffering from long term stress due to many years of trauma, something I was unable to leave behind me. My parasympathetic nervous system was no longer thriving, I was always on high alert and suffering from brain fog, poor sleep and limited focus.

After just one treatment, which was incredibly relaxing, I felt that my brain had been deeply massaged and was no longer tightly wrapped in 'cling film'. My brain was able to breathe, there was space in my head to think, my focus and thought process were sharpened. More importantly for me, during that process, unconsciously I was able to let go of the emotions that were tying me to the trauma I had held onto for so many years.

In addition to this, upon speaking to one of the therapists the following week, I checked the markers on my sleep and fitness tracker. Without even being aware that the therapy would have an effect on this, I saw that I had the best week of recovery since I started tracking close to a year ago. This included sleep quantity, quality, HRV, respiratory rate and resting heart rate. All were at my optimum level.
