I got exactly what I ordered and it was delivered in less than 5 days
I migrated to this from survey monkey because it had more options. Support is very solid, highly recommend this software for surveys!
SurveyGizmo is a pretty good survey platform for those on a budget. It is much better than survey monkey, and closer to an enterprise tool than a surveymonkey.
Two questions I answered truth. Female and my age. What they only let the young people do it? Most likely just a scam like all the other survey sites.
SurveyGizmo is now known as Alchemer. When I investigated which web survey platform to adopt for my business, I completed a top-to-bottom review of 17 different suppliers. I was looking for a platform that could accommodate cross-tabs, image heat maps, video dial testing, time limits on questions, and conjoint (discrete choice) built in. I was able to find only 4 suppliers that could meet all of those needs; and Alchemer was by far the least expensive solution, at $1,800 for a Full Access license, and a practically unrestricted limit on respondents, and a generous 10,000 e-mail invitations (on the platform) per month. Other companies like Decipher, QuestionPro, and Qualtrics would have ended up costing me about 3X more per year.
1. Technical support over the phone gave me a wrong advice: I wanted to know an efficient way to set SPSS variable names. (I knew that a variable name can be changed in each question. However, I wanted to know a bulk manner. My research survey is very long and has many variables.) The technical support person told me that a bulk-editor page on Alias allows changes in variable names. So, I did. However, it just turned out his advice is wrong. After going through their documentations, I learned that Alias is for a different purpose and that there is a bulk-editing way.
The thing is that I initially created the whole master survey, based on which I created three versions. So, I have to go over all four versions (1 master + 3 versions), which will take much longer time than a non-bulking way. We paid to an assistant for the initial editing work based on Alias, which was useless but harmful if any. On top of this cost, we now have to work on four versions. Very costly and painful. I've informed and complained to Survey Gizmo, but not yet heard back.
Why should any user be harmed by their technical support advice? In the above case, I would have been much better off without asking any advice from them.
2. Email delivery is unreliable and, I suspect, very poorly invested. Some recruitment emails seem to disappear. So, I ended up using an external email delivery service by exporting unique links from SurveyGizmo to the delivery service. I also set up SMTP between SurveyGizmo and the email delivery platform. It works somewhat 95% times. (5% emails do not reach the platform. I suspect that this is due to a problem on SurveyGizmo.)
I spent several months building surveys with Survey Gizmo when I called to inquire about some coding assistance. After reviewing my surveys, I was advised by customer support as follows:
Upon reviewing your K1 project with my team here, we noticed a lot of aspects that violate our Acceptable Use Policy. Specifically, collecting certain personally identifiable information. The Acceptable Use Policy prohibits use of the SaaS to exchange federal or state identification information, passwords, social security numbers, banking, credit card, or any other financial information. Avoidance of our servers would not alleviate the prohibition to collect the information that the customer is requesting.
I had paid my $1800 annual fee just a week prior.
Since I was collecting passports information in the field of U.S. immigration, I used the next month to test whether I could transition to Qualtrics (a far superior platform, as things turned out). I then requested a pro rata refund of my annual subscription fee. I was advised that SurveyGizmo typically only gives refunds if requested within 30 days of paying the fee, but that I might nonetheless qualify for a refund because the platform was not able to deliver the services I required. After waiting over two weeks, I was advised that my request for a refund was denied.
So, SurveyGizmo = limited service + poor business ethics + indifferent customer relations.
I have been a customer for about 4 years. It started really well but after some times features just dissapeared (without warning and after you paid) and a lot of bugs came into the surveys.
I helped Surveygizmo a lot by addressing all this bugs and problems, but all I got in return are higher prices and less features. I'm now on the point of ending my subscription at Surveygizmo and move over to another platform.
I can't believe that surveygizmo.com has no Trustpilot reviews yet! It's a modern-looking online survey designer/manager.
It was very easy to use first time without need to lookup anything. Just intuitive. There is a basic free version (good enough for me) and paid plans to get more features.
