Legacy Tablo was great! App was excellent and with lifetime schedule subscription programs were easy to find and record. Picked up a 4th generation and everything changed. App is terrible! They should... Toon meer

All they know about support is how to spell the word.

This review is about Tablo support only. The device itself is great. The Tablo device has been working reliably for years, and continues to do so, but a few days ago the Android Tablo app stopped being able to find the Tablo device, while the GoogleTV app worked fine. I opened a ticket with Tablo and provided plenty of detail on the problem. The help I got was pretty much serial delivery of individual items from their FAQ and how-to pages. At this point I would not be surprised to find some sort of primitive madlib generator behind the emails. In this case seeking help was a complete waste of time reflects very poorly on Tablo.

I too would never recommend Tableau to…

I too would never recommend Tableau to anyone I've had nothing but constant problems from the very first day I bought it I have to reset it every day to make it work correctly and their support people or one is saying it's okay to reset it every day and one says it's not now I bought a new TV a Samsung a couple of months ago and it won't even work on that and they are telling me it's because they have to get some kind of update for the new Samsung TVs and that'll they don't know when that will be . I am livid

I've had my 4 tuner tablo for two years and I would never recommend Tablo to anyone!
Sometimes it doesn't record shows and a lot of times the recordings it does make are stop and go claiming signal loss even though the picture is perfect.
Tablo just has way too problems for me to ever recommend. Unfortunately I'm beyond the return period, otherwise I'd send it back! Don't buy! It's junk!

on a regular basis it disconnects from my internet along with reverting back to the opening screen without warning. I have called customer service several times and tried several different things but i don't feel I should have to keep rebooting the Tablo, unplugging my TV and plugging back in, unplugging my router and plugging it back in. As I'm typing this it has disconnected twice. Junk !!!!!!

Defective router would not power up.

The product initially worked as expected however at some point the router would not power up. Went to the website and online and tried every suggested remedy.
The product was 6-8 months old and completely failed. Attempted to contact customer service via email and received on response.
The unit that I purchased was obviously defected and the company ignored contact.

Moved My Antenna

I was having tiling on the screen so I moved my antenna from the bedroom (north) to the living (south) . Glad I thought to move the antenna, all tiling went away! Sometimes it locks up but I just restart my TV and it connects again. Overall, minor problems and so glad I don't have to pay $114.00 a month for DIRECTV anymore.

Cable tv prices made me go to tablo tv. Now, tablo tv is making me go back to cable tv. Tablo is very messed up. I wake up every morning out of bed, but before I put my feet on the floor, I ask myself, what will be wrong when I turn my TV on. Will tablo be working, I ask myself. 98% of the time, tablo isn't working.

Beware of Tablo 4th Gen. Devices

I've had a legacy Tablo device since 2018 and it has worked fine all these years although it is fairly slow to start and switch channels, but it worked. I bought the latest Tablo 4th Gen. device only to find that it does not work properly with some Roku streaming devices. This apparently is a KNOWN bug but they give no warning about this on their website in the purchasing section. They blame Roku but I have several different Roku devices and the Tablo Legacy plus my other streaming services work fine.

I was forced to pay the shipping to return it for a refund and 10 days after they received it (12/9), I still don't have my refund.

I’m not going to be getting Tablo since…

I’m not going to be getting Tablo since most reviews are negative. Why waste time and money on a product that has poor reviews?This product has the worst customer dissatisfaction rating I’ve ever seen. Too bad because I really wanted something to record off live TV.

Won't stop buffering.

I've had my 4 tuner Tablo about 3 months. It installed easily and worked well for a couple of days. Then on some or all of my four tvs it would buffer endlessly when I clicked on LIVE on the banner bar. I could do a reset and it was fine for two to five days and then one by one it did the same on every TV. I've tried updating, using various streaming boxes, resetting my router, and unplugging the Tablo. (I have excellent wifi coverage to the Tablo.)
Again it works for a day or two and then refuses to connect to LIVE.

I have tablo on my tv

I have tablo on my tv, it appears to work but I caanot record, it only comes up on my phone in the setup and it stops there. Have called in but got no help, was told to buy a fire stick and good bye. I do not reccomend tablo, great idea but not user friendly

I bought a 4th gen Tablo in 2023 to be able to watch TV, skip, fast forward, rewind and record the few local shows I watch when I cut the cord from satellite TV.

I had issues from the start, often when I would try to watch a show I would get the set-up screen you get before setting up the Tablo device.
This would even happen while watching a show it would kick me out, when I would try to get back into the show I was watching I'd get the set up screen with the QR code. When I contacted Tablo support, they weren't very helpful.

The service got better in 2024, I got the setup screen less often, but it would drop shows fairly often and buffers a lot more often then other streaming channels.

I moved the Tablo device from the TV in my den to my office where my router is located. It is connected to my router with an ethernet cable. This did not have any effect on the signal. Even the TV that is connected to the Tablo device via Ethernet cable will buffer the same as the other TV's. One is in the next room, less that a foot away (thru the wall) from the Tablo device.

I tried to connect the Tablo to 5G, Table support told me 5G wasn't supported, and I needed to upgrade my WiFi. However later I found a document online that it was supported.

It seems shows on the Table get out of sync much more than on other streaming channels. I end up going back to the Tablo menu then going back into the show many times to get the video and audio to get back in sync.

Then there was a firmware update in April 2025. Since then most of time anything I try to watch is so pixelated so bad you can't watch. I ended up purchasing another streaming channel so I could actually watch a show that I can no longer view via the Tablo.

When I reached out to Tablo for support after the firmware update, they no longer open a ticket, I received a canned AI reply, that was not helpful, it didn't have any information in reference to the firmware update, that had no option to open a ticket or to contact someone for further support, since this happened after their latest firmware update.
But they did send me an email wanting me to rate their service. Definite thumbs down!

Tablo is a wonderful idea that is that has been terrible executed.

Tablo is a wonderful idea that is terribly executed. The legacy that I had started good and started failing so often I got the current version. its user interface was not as good as the legacy model. Then they updated again and the interface went from fair to nonsinceacle. My current one in failing quite often(sieses up and kicks me out of the app) and I am just about in the market for a new product and it will not likely be TABLO.

Tablo 4th Gen 2 Tuner works well after sorting out WiFI

I purchased a Tablo 2 Tuner 4th Generation device about a month ago
I have had excellent results
The intial set up was complicated by the fact that my wifi was set up as a public network in my home
This meant that devices could not "see" each other
Once I set the wifi network to private using my computer the setup went smoothly
I called the Tablo Customer support to get my Tablo connected and sort out the wifi issue
Very happy with how I can see broadcast TV on other TV's and Ipads in the house
