Terrible service and support- avoid.

Knowing that hoof boots are notoriously difficult to fit right I paid £60 plus travel for an approved fitter to come out, this is thought would ensure i got the right boots for my mare. Lady who came out was lovely and had a wide range of boots which she duly tried on. Found a pair that she advised- Scoot Adjust, so I duly ordered them from The Hoof Boot Shop at a cost of ~£220. Admittedly they arrived quickly but that is where the good points end. I tried them on her and tried to remember everything I'd been told about how they should fit, however was pretty confident as I'd had them professionally fitted. So off we went for a ride. Hadn't gone more than 1/4 mile and one had completely flung off. Reached out for advice on how to adjust them and tried everything i was told but they still will just not stay on her feet. Reached out to Hoof boot shop to ask their advise and was told- "we agree they are the right size and we don't accept returns now they have been worn". They do have a trial option where you pay full price for boots then return after 14 days if they don't work minus a fee of £25 (I think) but because my boots weren't trial boots (so I can only guess the trial boots are second hand but you still get charged full price if you keep them??) I cannot return them. And i don't feel this was well explained on the website as first page states 14 day trial, but i then clicked on all boots not thinking that trial boots were a separate section. Apparently fitting hoof boots "is a process of trial and error"....... so save your money, don't bother with a professional fitting and actually shop elsewhere with people that want to help you rather than just fleece you for all your money........ PS anyone want to buy some Scoot Adjust in size 2? Very lightly used as they just wouldn't stay on!

Terrible experience using this company and the fitter. Came out tried a few on , said size 3 fit … they did in fact not . I went on 3 hacks and every time I had to get off twice to turn the boots round ( both feet ) . had said fitter out again and I was using the pads & shims , again told me they fit , pony had a trim and the same issue occurred . Very slow replies from the company and was refusing to let me return . Has since said I can return -£50 and also I can’t return the pads or shims as they have been used … even though I was told to by the fitter to try and make them fit . 100% do not recommend , very poor and disappointing service considering I’ve used them on a pony before . Did not suit my pony and company owner had no sympathy or helpful advice to try and solve the issue .

I've purchased from The Hoof Boot Shop several times over the past few months, and I honestly can't recommend them highly enough. Every order has arrived promptly, communication has been excellent, and the customer service has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful.

They stock a fantastic range of hoof boots from multiple leading brands, along with replacement parts, accessories and everything you need to get the right fit. One of the things I love most is that they also work with a network of local farriers and hoof care professionals who offer fitting services, with some even providing discounts through The Hoof Boot Shop. It makes the whole process so much easier, especially if you're new to hoof boots.

I've noticed a handful of negative reviews on Trustpilot, but they genuinely don't reflect my experience at all. Having used this company multiple times over several months and across several purchases, I've only ever received outstanding service. In fact, some of the reviews read as though the orders may not even have been placed with this company, so I do wonder if some people have accidentally reviewed the wrong business.

The Hoof Boot Shop is a genuinely brilliant company that clearly cares about its customers and their horses. I wouldn't buy my hoof boots from anywhere else, and I recommend them to anyone looking for expert advice, quality products, and excellent customer service.

I placed my order on 1st June after messaging the company on social media with a question. They replied promptly the following morning, which initially gave a good impression.

A few days later, I contacted them for an update as I had expected my order to have been dispatched by then, but I received no reply. After messaging again the following day, I was informed that because I had selected standard delivery, my order would not be dispatched for several more days as they bulk ship standard orders. I asked if I could upgrade to next day delivery as I needed the boots urgently, but this message went unanswered.

The boots eventually arrived around a week after I placed the order. Unfortunately, they were supplied with two different-sized straps, despite both straps being intended to be the same size. I mentioned this to the company, but it wasn't acknowledged. I had to raise the issue a second time before they responded and sent out the correct sized replacement strap.

I then contacted the company to ask for an email address so I could request a copy of my VAT invoice. Again, I received no reply and had to follow up four days later. I was told the accountant was on annual leave and that the invoice would be sent upon their return. Seventeen days later, I still hadn't received it, so I messaged again but received no response. I then sent an email requesting the invoice and was sent my order confirmation instead, which is not the same as a VAT invoice.

The boots themselves are absolutely fine, and I have no complaints about the quality of the product. However, the poor customer service, lack of communication, and difficulty resolving even simple issues mean I won't be shopping with this company again.

I had a really bad experience with them, they were very quick to respond to sizing advice but as soon they arrived they were slow when I was asking for advice on fitting, my pony was desperate for some boots also, they said it was because it was a weekend but other companies were happy to respond over a weekend, horses do not know what day it is…...I didn’t think they fit and they looked like they would rub, they are very hard (I asked scoot boots themselves and they recommended a different model completely off the same photos) I decided to send them back. I had followed all procedures for trying them on and sent with all original packaging. They said they would refund the boots but not the accessories as I’d opened them even though they agreed they were in perfect condition to sell on (uk laws say you are allowed to open packaging) they were very difficult offering me 50% back but they keep them… I refused as I was entitled to a full refund and then they wouldn’t respond to me at all. I had to get trading standards involved / suggest court proceedings and via the bank before they refunded. This took over a month. I know my rights and refused to let it drop
I decided to go with renegade instead who have been fantastic and the boots are amazing. Don’t waste your time with this company , they don’t respond to emails and there is no phone number on the website and refuse to give it out so you can talk to them to resolve. They want you to message via messenger then ignore you

Extremely quick easy purchase. Ordered at 3.45 pm with standard delivery (5-10 working days) My scoots arrived less than 24 hours later and fit my horse perfectly. Would definitely recommend and use in the future. Thankyou

I personally have had a great experience with this company. I ordered a pair of Scoot Boots with coloured straps and they were dispatched same day and arrived quickly. Unfortunately, they were a little too big for my horse, so I applied to exchange them and returned the boots with no issue. They quickly acknowledged receipt of the boots and posted out the new ones straight away. Really impressed with the companies efficiency. Will defo purchase from them in the future!

The Hoof Boot Shop are an amazing company with excellent customer support.
Prior to Christmas, I purchased a pair of ladies riding tights through a company in Sweden. They arrived & were too small & so I returned them for exchange. 2 months later & several messages to that company without success, I asked Hoof boot if they could help as they were linked to another apparel company (Equine Fusion) in Sweden. The Hoof boot were amazing, they immediately stepped in! Rachel immediately reached out to their apparel company explaining the problem, that company was then able to help with the issue.
Rather than wait for the returned item to reach the Swedish stores, however, they recognised my despair & immediately sent me out a replacement which arrives shortly. None of this would have been possible without the help & support of 'The Hoof Boot Shop' (not even customs were able to sort this out! I rate them so highly & so I ordered an additional pair of Ladies riding tights but this time directly through the Hoof Boot shop. These arrived a few days after ordering & my wife is simply delighted with them. I found the Hoof Boot Shop's customer service second to none, they went the extra mile & a 1/2 for me & I rate them so highly & would definitely use them again & again.

I should have really re-considered placing my order in the first place as my initial communication was not answered in a timely manner. However, I did place my order for 2 sets of hoof boots which arrived promptly. However, 5 weeks on 3 of the 4 boots have problems and now they do not communicate with me. Avoid this company and use someone else.

A single scoot boot was ordered which had 5 - 10 day dispatch time. 10 days in and no dispatch email, chased them for an update to be told the boot will come with no accessories as someone stole them and just sent the single boot back. Bit fishy when they SELL accessories separately. Left the customer in the dark about this for 10 days!! Took customer elsewhere due to this terrible service and odd story.

Wouldn’t use again. Ordered a single scoot boot that I needed urgently said 10 day delivery which was fine. Never had a despatch email chased it twice. They said they sent me an email stating that they had the boot but do I need the accessories? Never had an email and yes I do, obviously as they come with the boot. I had a reply saying they have the boot but no accessories as someone stole them then sent it back apparently. Not my problem. They could have easily supplied me with them as they sell them seperately. Instead they left my messages on Facebook messenger as unread (on purpose) and then issued my refund that I had asked for. Funny that. Ordered from The Saddlery Shop in the end. In stock and much better customer service with quick replies!

In reply to your reply - I never received an email, if you had sent one please can you screenshot and send me proof that you have, I also sent 2 text messages and an Instagram DM with no reply when chasing the order. You told me you didn't have any accessories for the boot, that's what you said via Facebook messenger and that someone had stolen them. You never said that you have the complete boot with the accessories already on it. You then said you had the boot with the accessories attached but no bag or spare ones after I asked if you can just send me accessories off another boot and questioned if it was second hand. At no point did you ever offer a discount or a refund, I asked for a refund. Also, you say you couldn't contact me, you had my text message and my Instagram message that you could have replied to and could have easily rang me as you had my mobile number rather than me chasing on various social platforms.

My wife ordered a pair of Explorer Magic from this company based upon the suggestion of their fitter Tracey. When they arrived we could not get them to fit. Watched a very long YouTube video on adjusting size. Apparently it’s simple. It’s not it’s very fiddly and time consuming and then they still didn’t fit well per the easy on and off instructions! Fitter came back out and frankly added nothing useful in terms of tips and tricks. We knew they would need breaking in a bit and the rubber would probably soften but assumes you can get them on. Persevered and then found they twisted on the horse while in the arena. Much contact back and forth with the company and fitter and zero resolution. Very unimpressed and now have £150 boots that are of no use plus £60 fitters fees.

I’m afraid I cannot recommend the Hoof Boot Shop or their fitter, Tracey Pettipher. I was missold boots which were advertised incorrectly and then the fitter had so little knowledge of how to fit and adjust the boots she was unable to help. She was very dismissive of my issues and simply referred me back to the Hoof Boot Shop. The Hoof Boot shop have been so slow in their response my 30 day consumer protection has expired and I have spent £60 on fitting and £150 on boots that I cannot use with no resolution offered.

Incredibly fast delivery on the 2 orders I have placed! Very happy to recommend.

I just wanted to let you know that the Explora Magic boots I purchased from you are fitting my mare like a glove. She is such a happier girl when we go out riding on mixed terrain.

I contacted The Hoof Boot Shop, as I read that they offered an onsite fitting service. The Hoof Boot Shop put me in contact with one of their independent fitters, Gemma Thompson, who was closest to my area in Derbyshire.

A HUGE thank you to Gemma for taking the time to ensure I picked the right boots for LuLu and making the time to make sure I ordered the correct fit for LuLu.

Quick service, very helpful on the phone with my queries. I had measured incorrectly first time around but the return process was very easy

Super speedy delivery, arrived on a Saturday after only ordering Friday morning. Great communication and advice as I was undecided on the size.

I ordered four flex boots and paid for 24 hour delivery as I was desperate for them. They did not arrive on next day delevery or within 48 hours. I ended up chasing the company trying to find out where they were. They then wanted to send a pair at a time, even though I needed four, that's why I ordered four in the first place. I asked to cancel the order and have a refund, then had to chase this.. When you are spending nearly £400, this is my opinion, wasn't good service!
I ordered them from another company and recieved them the next day!

Fantastic service, I ordered a product that was not in stock and they sourced it from somewhere else so that the order could be fulfilled. Amazing product, will definitely use again if I need to reorder.
