Pick Ho Chi Minh for the best experience and staff.
I did my medical elective with the mighty Roar in Ho Chi Minh City. It has been the best experience only made better with all the people I met! Oscar was my coordinator while I was there he’s so kind and extremely funny he’s so happy to help with everything. Would recommend 100 percent to pick Ho Chi Minh City! The city is amazing.

Sri Lanka Travel and Volunteer Experience
I had an amazing experience on The Mighty Roar Sri Lanka Travel & Volunteer Experience. On the 9 days of travelling, you get to see so many incredible places, and really get a feel for the country while learning so much about the local culture.
I also absolutely loved the dog volunteer programme. I learned so much, and gained many new skills working with animals, it was such a rewarding experience!

Sri Lanka Childcare programme! 🇱🇰
I spent four weeks at The Mighty Roar’s programme in Akurala, Sri Lanka, and it was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. I came out here primarily for the childcare programme at Happy Kids Kindergarten, but ended up doing the turtle conservation, stray dog programme, and teaching programmes too, they are incredibly flexible and will work with you to make the most of your time here.
The childcare work was everything I hoped it would be. Working with the children every day was joyful, challenging, and more rewarding than I expected. But the real highlight of the whole experience was Chamo, the childcare coordinator. I genuinely cannot say enough good things about her, she is one of the nicest person I have ever met. She helped us with absolutely everything, went above and beyond at every turn, and made us feel completely at home from the very first day. She is the heart of this programme.
The wider staff are just as wonderful, some of the most welcoming, warm, and genuine people you will ever encounter. You never feel like a volunteer passing through. You feel like part of a family.
The accommodation is brilliant, clean, modern bathrooms, air conditioning in the rooms, and far more comfortable than I expected for a volunteer programme. It genuinely felt like a home.
I would recommend this to absolutely anyone, whether you’re coming for a week or a month, whether you want to work with children, animals, or in a classroom. I will 100% be coming back. The Mighty Roar and the team in Akurala are something special.

I honestly can’t put into words how incredible the experience was. The volunteer accommodation is clean and right by the beach. The town and the local people are so kind and welcoming of everyone. But the best part about the experience was the staff! Any problems were solved immediately and they do everything they can to make everyone feel comfortable. Dinah will answer all your questions, solve any problems and be there whenever you need her. Stephen, Francis, Alfred and Rubben are just incredible. They do so much for the volunteers and make sure everyone is safe. A girl in our group had to take a trip to the hospital (unrelated medical issue) and they woke up in the middle of the night to take her and stayed with her. There genuinely couldn’t be a better group of people running the organisation.
If you’re wanted to do the mental health and psychology experience be aware that it’s outpatient mental health and due to economic, educational and environmental factors not a lot of people come to the hospital. But the staff at the hospital are incredibly accommodating and amazing.
There is nothing bad I can say about this experience, it has been incredible from start to finish and made so special by the team and local people!

4 Weeks Childcare - Loved It!
The Mighty Roar is a superb company, the staff are incredibly welcoming, the programme is enriching and exciting. I spent 4 weeks doing the childcare and I loved it. The kindergarten on site is amazing, and the time spent with the children helped me gain communication and confidence when teaching. The coordinator for childcare (Chamo) was especially helpful and kind at all times, any problems were quickly solved through a message. The accommodation was cleaned weekly with fresh bed sheets, and the Air Conditioning was a needed good edition. I absolutely loved my time and would definitely come again!

I did the Sea Turtle Conservation…
I did the Sea Turtle Conservation programme with TMR and I enjoyed it so much, there was multiple activities to do with the programme and you see baby turtles hatch its so cute! I also did a bit of childcare and the kids were SO CUTE. Theres so much to do and thr weekend trip was amazing. I do reccomend greatly. The staff are all so welcoming, kind and understanding aswell!

Amazing experience in Busua, Ghana on the teaching program
I was in Ghana for 2 weeks (at 17) on the teaching program and it has been truly amazing.
Firstly, I felt really welcomed by the team (staff), other volunteers as well as the people living in Busua. The location is amazing, only a few steps away from the school and the beach (and Tina’s).
Then the teaching experience was so nice and enjoyable. The kids listen to you, talk with you and are so bright.
In the afternoons we were often offered to join “activities” like cooking classes, dance classes, the wound clinic or sip and paint which did not give us any time to get bored.
As for the weekend trip (to the stilt village and rainforest) I really enjoyed it. I think I might have preferred staying in Busua to maybe get to know the locals better as it was my only full weekend in Ghana.
The accommodation was really nice, I shared a room and a bathroom with two other people and it went really well. We don’t spend much time in our rooms as we’re always out and about. The food here was lovely I can’t complain about anything I’ve eaten here.
I hope I get to come back and if I do I’ll definitely stay more than 2 weeks because it was way to short.

Medical elective as a student nurse
I did the three week medical elective in Sri Lanka and had the best time! It was really interesting to witness the medical practices in the local Government hospital and speak to the incredible staff that worked there.
There is a a fantastic community spirit amongst all the volunteers and the TMR staff members were so helpful, friendly and ensured we had a great experience.
Thilini who led the medical elective was very approachable and organised the programme very well. Would definitely recommend!

Medical Elective
I am just finishing up my 3 week medical elective at TMR Sri Lanka. I have had a great time, the programme was really well run by our supervisor Thilini, all the staff were very accommodating and organised any necessary transport. They provided nice accommodation and breakfast, lunch and dinner during weekdays. I have had a great time here, thank you.

TMR Sri Lanka Medical Elective
I am just about to complete my 4 week medical elective with TMR Sri Lanka. I felt the program was well organised and geared to the level of senior medical students; we had transport to the hospitals each morning and our supervisor (Thilini) was very helpful introducing us to staff on wards initially to help us get involved. I felt I could take what I wanted from the placement and had opportunities to develop and see a variety of problems I would not see at home. I have loved being in Sri Lanka and would recommend the program to potential volunteers.

I was with TMR for 4 weeks doing the medical programme as part of my university elective. The programme lead, Thilini was lovely and organised a wide range of opportunities for us. The whole team at TMR Sri Lanka were great. I had a wonderful time and have made some incredible memories. I did all 3 weekend trips, which were great value and an amazing way to see the country!

I have been volunteering in Bali for 2…
I have been volunteering in Bali for 2 weeks in July went with my husband and our 3 16 year olds we had the best time 2 of us did the teaching programme at the local school and this was an incredible experience the children were so thankful kind and their willingness to learn was amazing we were teaching the younger age from from 9 years old and I loved each and everyone of them was a wonderful 2 weeks and the other 3 from our family did the marine conservation programme again they very much enjoyed but was a little repetitive building the artificial reef most days. We got to all release baby turtles a few nights too which was amazing !!
The accommodation was beautiful and the pool was lovely food lovely and the staff here are amazing !
