Lovely company, beautiful products
I love the Naked Chemist company...love their products, their ethos, and Samantha and her team are lovely, knowledgeable and very helpful.
I have purchased several products over the past year and have now settled on Fortify Barrier Cream and Reset Age Defying Cream as my daily products.
Fortify is so soft, nourishing and full of natural goodness that I love to have it on my face all the time, morning and night. However, on alternate mornings I apply Reset for its actives and its age defying qualities. Between the two creams my face seems softer and brighter.
I'm in my 50's and only started looking after my skin since I noticed some age spots in the last couple of years. I didn't know where to start, but I found the Naked Chemist on instagram. She came across as natural, caring, committed to natural ingredients and to helping others understand skin care. I will continue to use Naked Chemist products.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Samantha is an absolute godsend. After a horrible microneedling experience, my skin was in total shambles-nonstop breakouts, congestion, scarring, and broken skin barrier. I had tried everything and nothing was working. I reached out to Samantha and she got back to me right away. She recommended a few products, and within a week of using them my skin started to clear up. Now, a couple months later, my skin is almost completely back to normal.
The Naked Chemist products I’ve tried are all very high quality and honestly are the most powerful and effective products I’ve used. But what really stands out about the company is the care that Samatha and her team provides to their clients. Samantha took the time to do a video consult with me, answered all my questions over email and even talked to me about dietary improvements to help with my condition. She had a lot of compassion and empathy towards me and really made me feel like the there was a light at the end of the tunnel. My entire Naked Chemist experience has been above and beyond - I highly recommend!!

Samantha and her team are amazing, truly. I'm in North Carolina and I am so grateful I came across her products and blog. I saw countless doctors and derms for 3+ years after having my first kid and being told the skin issues on my face were only "hormonal" and given a steroid prescription. A video consult with Samantha and she was able to tell me what it was, and how I can begin to heal. The first person to really "get it" and it was such a relief. The Only Skin Care Products I Use
I have been using the Naked Chemist products for three years, and I would not use anything else. I use a wide variety of products, from the cleanser to Betox, A+, C+, Fortify, and Reset. My absolute must-haves include Glo, H2O, Barrier Repair Balm, and Xcell. Samantha is hands-on and has personally answered my questions. I found Naked Chemist after having microneedling that went poorly. Samantha walked me through every step to fix my skin problems, and I have not stopped using these products since. I cannot recommend this company enough!

Naked Chemist to the rescue for the 2nd time!!
Last year Samantha and the team saved my skin and frankly, my sanity – no word of exaggeration here. After a terrible experience with microneedling not only was my skin saved after several months of consistent use of Fortify, but Samantha's words of encouragement and sympathy throughout kept me on the right path and stopped me from completely freaking out when I at first thought I was irreparably damaged, and then when I realised there wasn’t an immediate fix.
What I did come to realise pretty quickly using Samantha’s soothing products, was that resolution might be possible for my thin, fragile, burning skin and over the weeks I began to gain a positive mindset, the more the products started to show results, the more positive I felt until eventually after a few months both my skin and my mental health felt normal again. I honestly couldn’t contain my happiness!!
Fast forward to March this year… overnight one night I developed what was diagnosed as rosacea all over my face. But I think it was actually a reaction to PPD in hair dye. I’d used a new hair dye containing this ingredient twice in quick succession just prior to the reaction starting (the first use sensitises the skin, the second use gives the reaction). I was given a prescription cream which cleared most of my face within 4 weeks. But I was left with a rash around my mouth which I self-diagnosed as perioral diagnosis. After several visits doctors agreed with me and prescribed an antibiotic gel. However, after months of trying this, I got no relief.
I should have known the Naked Chemist would have the answer once again!! Unlike many other people with PD mine didn’t seem to mind oil being applied, I’d left off trying it as I’d read it was bad for PD. But I’d got to the point where I didn’t have much to lose and remembered I had some of Samantha’s XCELL oil that I’d put in the fridge several months before. As soon as I put it on my skin felt soothed and not angry as it had been with everything i’d tried to apply recently.
So I wrote to Samantha and checked out her case studies and advice for treating PD. I ordered some more XCELL and Fortify cream and Samantha sent me a really generous sample of Clarify to try– I hadn’t ordered a full size one as I was worried the salicylic acid in it would trigger more flair ups especially as I have naturally dry skin (how wrong I was, this stuff is amazing!).
Meanwhile I’d begun seeing a naturopath as I wanted to find and treat the source of the issue as well as the outward symptoms. After a blood test, we found out that I had moderate allergies to a lot of things like wheat, apples, peanuts and soy and a moderate intolerance to cows milk. On their own there was no obvious immediate reaction to any of these things – apart from a slight tingling in the mouth when eating peanuts or apples, which are the two things which rated as highest on the allergy scale for me, but we decided I should cut out everything that showed any reaction at all, as they may be having a cumulative affect and the resulting levels of histamine may be contributing to my skin problem. She also put me on a high quality methylated multivitamin and a gut healing powder formula.
I’ve now been on this ‘gut healing’ protocol for around 3 weeks. And using the Skincare routine below for 2 weeks and both have been a game changer!:
Morning: Clarify gel then Fortify mixed with a little XCELL oil.
XCELL applied throughout the day as my lips get very dry and the PD is literally on the borders of my lips. As the days have gone on I’ve had to apply it less often.
Bed time: wipe skin with 1 part ACV diluted with 5 parts water. Let this dry then apply Fortify.
The difference is huge!! I’m not there yet and I’m prepared for more flares before my skin and gut are restored fully but I am most definitely on the way and the results so far definitely show that I’m on the right track. Thank you once again Naked Chemist from the bottom of my heart.

1. Recovery after microneedling damage
We are relieved to hear that consistent use of Fortify helped rebuild your barrier and that you felt calmer as your skin began responding. Barrier repair is rarely instant, and patience plays a huge role in your recovery.
2. Sudden reaction and possible PPD sensitivity
Your experience shows how easily ingredients like PPD in hair dye can trigger severe inflammatory responses that mimic rosacea. Seeking medical input and then reassessing when symptoms persisted was exactly the right approach.
3. Perioral dermatitis not improving with medication
PD is notoriously stubborn and often doesn’t respond to antibiotic gels alone, especially when the barrier is dry or sensitised and the cid mantle is undermined. It was really wise to question whether the standard protocol is suitable for your skin. Because we are all metabolically different and it is often a case of trial and error.
4. Introducing XCELL and Clarify
We are so pleased XCELL soothed your skin instead of aggravating it — that shift from “angry” to “calm” is usually the first sign you’re on the right path. And yes, Clarify can be surprisingly gentle on drier skin types when used correctly, which is why we formulated such a product, Kate. We are glad it has been a positive addition.
5. Gut–skin connection
Your naturopath’s findings make complete sense. Allergies and intolerances can contribute to chronic inflammation and a high histamine load, often manifesting around the mouth. Supporting the gut while repairing your barrier function and acid mantle topically is usually the turning point, and it’s great to hear you’re already noticing improvements.
6. Your current routine
Your routine is simple, balanced, and supportive — exactly what reactive skin needs. XCELL for daytime soothing and Fortify at night for structured repair is a potent combination, as the ingredients in the formula closely mirror what is already present in your skin in terms of skin-identical components.
Most importantly, your mindset has shifted, Kate, which is essential when treating PD or skin after micronedling — you’re giving your skin time, space, and consistency to heal. You also understand that flares can still occur, which is realistic and helps alleviate the pressure.
