Yelling at guests
I went there with my black girlfriend and trying to check in they yelled at her bc she had forgotten her ID. She looks young but is 30 years old. Instead of having to travel all the way back home she asked kindly and softly if she could show her a picture of her ID (passport and national ID) and the front desk woman took it up ten notches, started yelling that it was impossible and that she practically asked her to break the law and how dare she. She let us in after a while, but only after making sure that everyone around us knew what terrible people we apparently were. We were so taken aback it's difficult to explain. In retrospect we should have just left, but it was a special occasion, so we tried to explain further (like mentioning that we had been there before), apologized profusely and in the end was let in. If there ever was a bittersweet feeling. I'll never go back unless the management takes some serious accountability and shows that it will treat all guests equally and not based on race. (If you are curious, we had to wait in line for a long time and saw how the hostess treated white couples politely, even if they also must have had some problems bc she spent a long time with some of them smiling and typing on her computer and laughing during their conversations.)
