Ghosted when problems started
Installation seemed to go ok but my first quarter electricity bill after I got an electric car showed by consumption had gone from zero to 150kWh per month. Looks like they’ve sequenced things incorrectly and my car charger is hooked up to the grid and not my panels or batteries. Through this would be an easy fix but no reply to 4 emails and no one is answering their customer helpline or the dedicated premium customer support number. Do not trust this company or its director Dale Gaucas - I assume this company will go under to be replaced by yet another phoenix company

We have checked our records and can confirm that we have not received any phone calls or emails from you since the beginning of August. The most recent contact we have on record is from when you spoke with Leighton at the start of August.
During that conversation, we explained that if you had subsequently had an additional EV charger installed by a separate company, there was a possibility that the CT clamp associated with the EV charger had been installed incorrectly. An incorrectly positioned CT clamp can interfere with the operation and monitoring of the existing solar and battery system.
As the EV charger was installed by a separate company, any issue with its installation or CT clamp would need to be investigated by the company that installed the charger.
We are always happy to investigate issues with systems we have installed, but we need to be made aware of the issue in order to do so. As we have not received any correspondence from you since August, we would ask that you contact us directly so we can review the matter further.

11 kwh battery fitted

Our installation has worked perfectly apart from a few initial glitches.
Since it Was installed in March 2026 we have used virtually no mains electricity
An App lets us monitor the state of charge of the battery during the day. This works well but does not show our solar PV production.
We already had solar panels fitted 12 years ago and the new battery was installed alongside with no problems.
The battery was fitted neatly and the wiring was inconspicuous. The engineers were pleasant to deal with. Also Titan phone response is quick and pleasant.
Details:
11kwh Fox battery
Gateway (to allow uninterrupted power during a power cut)
Cost £6000
Existing 4kw solar panels(after 12 years old now at 90%) produced 48000 kwh
So far we have stayed with our existing electricity supplier (Fuse) and have only had to pay their standing charge and a tiny amount of electricity that the system seems to need amounting to about £1 per month. We will probably change supplier to 100Green Smart Tide tariff at 7p per unit overnight to top up the battery in the winter.
2 days after the system was fitted there was an unplanned 2 hour power cut in our village. There was a slight flicker of the lights as our battery cut in otherwise we would not have known.
Minor initial glitches
The engineers were due to arrive on a Friday but did not come until the following morning
They had obviously being called in on their weekend off and arrived with a young (well behaved) family member in tow.
Understandably they were somewhat rushed but nevertheless did a good job
They did not vacuum up and left rubbish behind including boxes unpacking materials
Also the explanation of how the system worked was very rushed.
Once the battery was charged it was not giving power to the house the following day.
An engineer called to fix this and took away the rubbish so we did not have to take it to the tip
A couple of weeks later we went on holiday for four days and came back to find the battery not working
Titan was able to fix this remotely and the cause may have been us turning off the router while we were away.
Titan seemed a bit disorganised at first and we were given wrong information that our existing inverter would be discarded and the new inverter would take its place. As our inverter is nearing end of life we were disappointed this did not happen.

I was recommended by a friend and I…
I was recommended by a friend and I treated this process with a degree of scepticism.
The reality was an amazing experience from the highly qualified and friendly staff talking me through the process, costings, benefits and the downsides.
Fitters turned up as agreed at the right time and explained what they were going to do.
We took the benefit of including a battery pack. Unfortunately National Grid took 3 months to hook us up but, our bill to Octopus could now be zero. We have however reduced from £175 per month down to £60 just as a precaution to see how the winter goes.
So, currently Octopus are taking £60pm but, we are charging 2 electric vehicles and already we have been payed £140 back into our account from the grid.

KEEP WELL AWAY FROM TITAN ENERGY the lads on site are great.The office management is were the problems begin. All certifications are incorrect after they have tried to do 4 separate sets of certificates with multiple visits to my home they are still false and incorrect .When trying to contact the office they will not answer the phone on the rare accation you do manage to get someone you are told they will go away get some answers and call you back same day HA lucky if you get call back I'm still waiting 3 months on
Don't know how any company can supply certificates for a installation saying all is ok when there's faults on the installation but certs show all ok
Take note if you're interested in solar don't use Titan better off getting cowboys at least you know you going to get stuffed from the beginning

We arranged for the installation to be fully retested and, following those tests, provided you with a brand-new set of certificates. This involved additional time and cost to us, but we were happy to do so to ensure your concerns were addressed and that you were satisfied with the documentation provided.
This was completed for you some time ago, so we are disappointed to see that you still feel your concerns have not been resolved.

Couldn’t have wished for a better more…
Couldn’t have wished for a better more professional experience . The whole consultation and installation was completed in less than a week. From initial enquiry right up to certification the whole team have been absolutely on the ball with support and friendly advice where necessary. Steve the Ops manager was particularly helpful in tweaking my plans to get the installation to look right and be as efficient as possible. The scaffolders were here to erect within a couple of days and then back again at seven p.m. to get it removed on time. (Unheard of for scaffolders, they can leave stuff up for weeks! :) Materials were on site the morning of the installation and 2 guys did the whole installation in a day! Panels, inverter, batteries the lot. Shout out to Arnold and his mate on the roof for that one. Would whole heartedly recommend this team to anyone considering solar.
My advice to anyone thinking of going down the solar route is , do your research and get a good idea of what you (think) you need. Then discuss options on the site visit with an experienced professional who can see the job and advise accordingly. Be aware that if you go (as I did) over a certain size (3.68kw) for the inverter there will be a delay in obtaining the necessary G99 certification which can be up to 8weeks. ( My mcs and g99 came under that at six weeks in total, all taken care of by the support team) and now waiting up to an additional four for the mPan from the grid) so build that into your plans.
Effectiveness? Mine is a six kilowatt hybrid with battery storage (6kw so far) and I’ve been totally self sufficient since the day of the installation. Bear in mind the weather is remarkable and we’ve had 6 weeks of sun. But my last dual fuel energy bill was £29.50. Admittedly it’s summer so we’ve used very little in the way of gas , but I’ve got two hot water cylinders which heat on timers every day plus all the standbys, kettle, fans, tv ‘s etc . The batteries are the absolute game changer. If you can afford it they are a must. I kept delaying, for some years, installing solar panels because of the expense, the look, and the effectiveness of the technology. The relatively low cost of effective storage has made all this redundant and the freedom to be able to put the washer or the tumble drier on without glancing at the red bit on the smart meter at any time of the day (or night) is strangely liberating and almost joyfull .
So, my recommendation is do it, you won’t regret it. It’s a big decision and you do hear horror stories about people landing in a bureaucratic mess with certificates and safety issues, poor quality workmanship,companies going bust etc.
Obviously I can’t make comparisons with other companies but judging by my own experience I can recommend Titan Energy for a total stress free experience. They deliver on the promise. Can’t say fairer than that.

The team from Titan were very professional right from the 1st contact through to completion of the installation. When an issue was found from taking down the chimneys they ensured this rectified before the panel install, including replacing defective velux window which was found to be leaking.
Matt explained the system very well initially and Steve invaluable through the site survey to optimise the set up.The fitting team were fast and efficient to complete the works.
