Infuriating silence
I waited patiently while the package meandered to me from China for six weeks, and finally received my order. However, instead of The Explorer Aluminum Suitcase Lime × 1, Carry-on / Lime, I received The Explorer Aluminum Suitcase Black x 1. I sent several emails about the issue (also sent messages via the Toru web page). The first two emails included images attached showing that the box was marked as a black suitcase, and a photo of the black suitcase which arrived. I don’t want a black suitcase. If I did, I would have ordered one.
Only one of my messages resulted in an auto-reply acknowledgement from customer service of “message received.” Aside from that, silence. They claim that customer service is important to them, but that’s clearly a flat out lie.
The only reason I give them two stars and not one (or zero) is that they did indeed send two suitcases, as ordered, even if one is the wrong color. Why they can’t correct a simple problem, or communicate at all about it — well that’s the question of the last few weeks.

It seems to be a SCAM 100%
It seems to be a SCAM 100%. I placed my order on Aug 13, but haven't received an order confirmation or tracking number. I have contacted TORU several times using the contact form, but never heard back from them. I was lucky to keep history in my web browser, and that's how I got back to my order details and tracking number, which says that UPS hasn't even received the package (label created). After I read multiple negative reviews about TORU, I'm convinced that they scam people, and I'm going to get my money back at any cost! I highly discourage you from purchasing anything from them.
My response for TORU:
At the checkout, I was obliged to provide you with either an email address or a phone number. I would expect that you were able to use my phone number for communication. None of that happened. Also, I sent numerous messages via a contact form on your website, providing you with my email address and order number. No one has ever responded to either of them. If I ever receive this luggage, I would like to return it immediately and request a full refund. Due to a lack of communication and multiple negative reviews, I have decided to purchase a suitcase on Amazon. My trip starts on Wednesday. I really hope you can accommodate my request.
Edit Sep 18, 2025: If you think my order was delivered, you are very wrong. Ordered Aug 13, 2025, and the tracking number shows the last update from Sep 9, 2025 as "Arrived at linehual office".

Sally Thorns personally responded to me on 01/31/25 regarding the original inquiry confirming purchase and TORU's non delivery. This is not a new issue, so responding now, after 15 m months, with garbage and more lies, while denying prior contact is false and is simply more proof that you and this organization you represent are liars and trash.
My order #1598 was placed on December 9, 2024 for two Explorer Aluminum Suitcases. On December 11, 2024 Bernard Larson from Toru confirmed shipment pending USPS acceptance. On December 13, 2024 Toru provided tracking numbers LP00698633297230 and LP00700200283132. As of January 18, 2026 nothing was delivered and tracking never progressed.
Many, many, many multiple follow ups were sent by me, the Better Business Bureau, USPS and more and everyone ghosted, by Jake Park, Bernard Larson and by you, Sally Thorns. So keep your attempted propaganda, garbage and lies to yourself and spend your time reading the insurmountable pile of complaints from every reporting agency about how much of a piece of garbage you and your company are.
Jacob “Jake” Park IS listed as CEO and registered agent for Toru as well as ALL of the other named related entities mentioned. This information is easily accessible via the CA Secretary of State database. So, you are lying. And I have all said documentation substantiating.
No delivery! No refund! No resolution! No accountability! TORU IS A SCAM! And you, should all be ashamed for trying to come back 15 months later and attempting to cast more of your garbage mouthed lies in order for you to try to sleep at night. You won't, because that's what happens to garbage.
Sally, you are a bold faced LIAR! TORU Company is a SCAM! And Jacob "Jake" Park is a thief! Anyone associated with this piece of garbage should be ashamed and question your life choices. You are garbage, worthless and going to end up where all lying garbage goes.
Complete Scam! They sell you items, take your money, but NEVER deliver your items. I tried the Better Buisness Bureau, they did nothing. Found out that the business was actually suspended by the Federal Tax Board, and their new scan is called Advanced Shipping, Inc. Located at 18010 S. Figueroa St.Gardena, CA 90248 (the same address as Toru USA). All of these companies started by a pseudonym named Jacob Park. How do people like this live their scamming lives. Toru Clo is a scam to steal your money, do NOT buy from them! You will regret it!

When i was finally able to track the package, it stated it was delivered.....to a totally different state! This company is horrific!!!
It took over 30 days for the package to arrive.
The box was shredded, and I ordered an Olive suitcase and they sent a silver one.
They will not allow a return, blaming the dangers of COVID !
As if someone will catch COVID from me returning the incorrect merchandise that they sent to me.
I guess they weren’t worried that I would
“ get COVID” from them sending the suitcase to me!
This is a shady company.
Move on and order from a reputable company.

I was first hesitant to make my purchase, but it was definitely worth it once I received the product. It took about a week and a half to arrive. Awesome fabric and print. It feels a little heavy, which I prefer, and fits true to size. Recommend 100%
