Total Moving Solutions Reviews 

I find it difficult to write this review but feel like I should as I appear to have exhausted all avenues directly with Total Moving Solutions.

If you take nothing else away from this review, what is factual is that, we did not receive everything in our shipment and of what we did receive, a number of items were damaged.

It was not made clear to us during the process of selecting a partner for our international relocation (US > UK) that TMS would be selecting third parties for all stages of the move. This is not a problem in itself but it is the selection of partners that must be called into question after the service we received. TMS were not the cheapest quote when we researched movers but they made us feel most confident so our experience is doubly frustrating.

The first issue came during the packing of items. It was clear that some of the movers on the US side were not experienced or taking proper consideration during packing and on multiple occasions we had to ask them if they would re pack items. The most visible items this happened for were furniture and bikes and this was an area where a number of these items arrived damaged. In addition, we were told that 3 movers would complete the packing in a day and then when they arrived they said they would need 2 more movers to finish in a day. We agreed to this as we felt we had little choice but that then resulted in additional costs for providing food, refreshments and tips (as is the US culture). Never mind, we thought, a small cost and everything was packed. The items were then transferred to be moved into a separate 20ft shipping container for the move. As an additional FYI we were recommended a full 20ft container for our move based on the survey and for reducing the risk of losing items but on opening the container when it arrived, at least a third of it was empty.

Fast forward to delivery and once we received the container, the date having changed last minute and extra storage costs incurred unnecessarily, it was unloaded to our storage unit, as we were in between places. The 2 delivery men worked fast, explaining that they had other jobs to get to. Not all items were crossed off but they reassured us that it was all there and and we trusted them, seeing that it was a sealed container when they opened it. At this stage our storage unit was completely full, so after assessing and reporting damage we could see, we waited to find a place to live to be able to properly unload. This took a number of months and once in place, we unpacked and realized that a number of items were missing, including high value visible electronics. We reported this to TMS and were informed that nothing could be done as the period for reporting had expired. (I will note, they did show willing with some emails to look into it but it came to no resolution and no offer from themselves or the insurer to make amends). Whilst I can understand having a time frame, our situation made it very difficult to make a proper assessment of our shipment.

So in the end we have been left with a number of items missing and additional items damaged. For such a high cost service, the lack of empathy or willingness to provide some apology and compensation is distressing and undermines any trust in the partner. For TMS, it is concerning that they do not appear to have vetted their partners appropriately. The items were likely lost or disappeared on the US side and some of the movers that visited our property were not diligent or suitable removals experts.

Unfortunately we cannot recommend Total Moving Solutions because for a large sum of money you would expect piece of mind and support if anything went wrong instead we were made to feel stupid for not following due process properly and as if it was our fault that items had been misplaced.

I had an excellent experience with Total Moving Solutions. From start to finish, everything was handled with professionalism and care. Mr. Steve personally followed through the entire process and was incredibly patient, making sure I felt comfortable every step of the way.

I was especially impressed with how they transported my high-value computer setup, including the monitor, as well as a large television. After a long trip, everything arrived safe and sound, not a single scratch! Even the boxes were still in great condition, which shows how careful they were during the move.

Just completed my international move using TMS. I can highly recommend their service! Mike was the person allocated to help me. What a patient man! He took the time to explain things and reassure me when necessary. This wasn’t the first time I’d moved internationally but it’s been many years since I’d done it and things change! The removal men at both ends were excellent. The movers arrived on time on the day they picked up my boxes and other items. Everything was delivered within six days to my new location in the South of France.
They stored everything in one room, making it easy for me to access the many boxes. The team was extremely friendly and efficient throughout.

Steve was my main point of contact. I really appreciated how promptly he answered my questions and kept me informed about the delivery date. In short, the service was friendly, professional, and of a very high standard.

When Steve went on holiday, Christian took over my file. His communication was just as excellent.

From the word go, I found Total Moving Solutions great to deal with. James, Melissa and Christian, at headquarters, were always more than helpful in organising the move, especially when I had to postpone more than once while waiting to exchange contracts on the sale of my old home. I was worried they'd lose interest, but they were sympathetic and flexible. I was very grateful for this.

The removal team were at my old home in West Wimbledon before 09:00. They were ready to leave at 11:00. They couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. My own packing wasn't complete, but they were happy to dive in and help me. I nearly forgot the stuff in the garage, but they barely batted an eyelid and loaded all of that in a minute or two. Their attention to detail was striking.

Just this morning, they (different team) were here at my new address – before 10:00, I think. All done in just over one hour. Again, friendly and helpful. And this makes such a difference to the stressful business of moving.

The price was very good. Compared with some other estimates, it was surprisingly low – especially for the quality of work done. Really excellent, and I'd recommend TMS to anyone, wholeheartedly.

My family and I decided to return to Portugal this year. We arrived in June, but the decision was made last year. We spent a year preparing everything for our return, including finding a reliable moving company to transport our belongings. I can say that the beginning was very stressful because with so many companies offering the service and so many reviews (good and bad), we didn't know what to choose. That's when a couple of friends recommended Total Moving solutions to us, and I can say it was the best decision—simply 5 stars. After the first contact with Christian, I went from being constantly stressed to feeling relaxed and worry-free. Christian was always available to answer all my questions. And from the first contact to the day I received my belongings in Portugal, everything went smoothly. Both the team that picked up the items in the UK and the one that delivered them in Portugal were 5-star. They handled things with great care, rewrapped some furniture because they thought they weren't well packaged for transport, and always contacted me beforehand to confirm details.
I just wanted to leave a message of thanks to the whole team for the excellent work, especially Christian for always being available. I couldn't be happier because everything went wonderfully well, thank you very much.

Great experience with TMS. Two moves carried out from London- one to Switzerland and one to Wales. Very well organised and highly efficient- all went smoothly without any fuss. Scott was very professional and easy to deal with. Highly recommended.

I can’t recommend TMS highly enough. They moved our stuff to Ireland in May 2024 and moved it back to Canterbury in June 2025. From the staff at the TMS office to the Northern Irish based removal guys everyone was a pleasure to work with: helpful, friendly and very professional. They’ll also very good with giving updates. And no problem is a problem for these guys! We had a delay between leaving Ireland and being able to move into our house and Christian reassured me and organised storage. Then when there was a potential further delay he helped me to have a Plan B in place. We’re not moving anymore! But if we were, we would definitely use TMS again.

TMS turned one of life's most stressful experiences (moving house) to an absolute breeze.
My case manager was an absolute star! Not only was he friendly and personable, but he was quick when responding to any questions and kept me informed throughout. As there were hiccups between selling and purchasing, TMS accommodated changes when they arose.

Collecting the furniture and boxes from the house was done so quickly and professionally as was delivery to our new home, again nothing was too much trouble for the lads collecting and delivering and I can not speak highly enough of them.

Great service. Very responsive team especially Steve. Everything landed on time with no damage. Very happy with the service provided. Would definitely recommend! Also the team was accommodating when the time of collection has changed!
