Transcribed files that are not in English are full of spelling errors.
If you need transcriptions, it's worth looking into other solutions. Free software is better and can work locally.
So avoid Trint if you can — they just want to make money, they don't improve their systems, and they don't have money for a support team either.

Ich habe vergessen zu kündigen und nachweislich den Service nie mehr danach benutzt. Trotzdem liessen sie mich mehrere Jahre zahlen, eine riesige Summe. Nur ein paar wenige Monate entgegengekommen.....

We are a small company with a TRINT…
We are a small company with a TRINT license - we were on a one year subscription - which we didn't use - for £3600. We emailed the company informing them that the sub ended at the end of Jan 2025 - back in May. We have now been told we haven't given 60 days notice to cancel - and they are now trying to charge £2000 for a product we don't use. Shocking customer service.

Very good tool for my study.
Indispensable
Trint has been an indispensable tool for our in-house video production work. I have saved ridiculous amounts of time by simply running my recorded interviews through Trint and then start working on my script from my near-perfect transcript. And once the video is finished, I run it through Trint again and export an SRT file with ready-to-go subtitles. Oh and I’m in Sweden so this is all in Swedish. I’m pretty amazed how well the tool recognizes Swedish and quickly picks up new words. The longer you use it, the better it gets at it. So glad I found Trint!

Great time-saver
I used Trint for academic research for about two years and it was a time-saver that was excellent. Olga and the rest of the team at Trint were always on-hand and responsive! The project has now ended but I will definitely come back to use Trint again in the future.

Great tool, excellent support
Trint makes the transcription of my research interviews in English and German a much faster process. It's a quite intuitive tool, and works better than similar softwares I've tried. The support team is super friendly and has always replied quite fast whenever I've had questions or requests. I can truly recommend it!

Pathetic
I was working on a documentary, dealing with approx. 20h of interviews. What made me try out Trint was their script / story feature. Transcriptions of the interviews were fine (which is to be expected these days). I then started selecting the audio bits and added them into a script. Worked great... until I wanted to export it for my editor. It wasn't able to export an XML at all, EDL got exported but without time codes and file names (so no point really). So I contacted customer support. They got back to me after a couple of hours asking for access to the story, which I granted. They replied they'd pass it on to their engineering team to deal with it. 4 days later: nothing. I contacted them again. Again same answer, they passed it on to their engineering team to look into it. Another week or so later: they requested access to the story again. By that time I had paused my account to not pay another 90,-EUR for a non-functioning app. I would have had to renew my subscription to grant them access to the story... never heard from them again, except their newsletter.
Just deleted my account for good the other day.
Bottomline: if you're looking for a transcription app: there's others which do the job as well but cheaper. If you're looking for an app that helps you create an EDL or XML for your editor, keep looking. And let me know...
Piece of advice to the developers: maybe do a trainee period at a postproduction house to understand the importance of time management in film business.

I used the free version for 7 days. It expired and I had some work in progress in my account. I email them and in few hours they opened the account so I could download the files. Thanks! And the service works great

Hi Trint people
I have cancelled my subscription with Trent having completed my project. However I wanted to say thank you to the company for your very efficient, flexible and time saving product. My project involved interviewing 56 activists from the 70’s, 80’s and beyond. Some of these interviews were more than 5 hours in length. Without Trint I could not have succeeded.
When my husband died last October after a dreadful accident and I was left to continue the project alone, I was helped enormously by your staff. The advice to move to a yearly account and the compassion and understanding in the communications were much appreciated and contributed to my capacity to go on. I will be recommending Trint to others and will certainly rejoin if another oral history project comes my way. I am happy for my words to be used in any promotions.

Software good but subscription management terrible
The software is good, but the access to control how much you and being charged does not work. Every time I want to add a user, remove a user, download my account, pause my account, I'm having to contact customer service via email and wait for someone to email back. It's very inconvenient. If I can see I'm being charged tomorrow for a number of seats, I want to know I have the flexibility to downgrade or change this without contacting customer service every single time. I'm not sure why they don't fix the function on the website.
This is a SCAM
This is a SCAM. I left a review here and the response as you can read and the response is from the same person in the same words that she uses on her response to me directly. They have NO intention of shutting this account. I told them to close account by email last December. Yet billed and took another FULL YEAR subscription in FEBRUARY. Hey OLGA> Give me back my money.
Trint User Experience Is A++
I have used the business or pro versions of both Otter and Trint, and although Otter is good too, Trint in my opinion is vastly better. To me, Trint transcriptions seem more accurate, but it's the interface and added other features that for me make a huge difference. The Trint interface feels a lot more responsive than Otter's when editing, and Trint has better export options, including for working with video.
Both Otter and Trint have a highlighter feature for marking transcript text, but Otter offers one color whereas Trint offers several. That may seem minor, but what I want when I transcribe information from audio into text is to be able to return to that text at any time in the future and visually very quickly find the information I need without reading through every line. So, multiple highlighter colors as a tool for working with transcripts seems to me like a no-brainer vital feature.
For the same reason, Trint's "Story" feature is great, because not only can I highlight what I need in a transcript, I can extract that content and weave it into a separate "story" made-up of snippets from other transcripts, for categorizing related content and keeping it together.
So, I am very satisfied with Trint, but if I could change anything, I would maybe add a gray color highlighter option, which is what I often use in Microsoft Word to signify text that does not deserve deletion or a strikethrough but is skimmable and of lesser importance, for cases where highlighting the important stuff would mean highlighting the majority of it. That, plus, while both Otter and Trint can automatically detect who is speaking, it seems like Otter is better able to do this across multiple transcripts after being given the speaker name labels once.
Last but not least, I am very impressed with Trint's customer service. Whatever I have needed, Olga at Trint has warmly and kindly worked with me to deliver.
For my money, Trint is the best.

The transcriptions are barely usable in French. Many words are totally out of scope and irrelevant. Trint might be effective for other languages (or not?) but is unfortunately highly ineffective for French.
Pricing is high and return on investment is a disaster ...
es muy bueno, caro, pero estupendo.
es muy bueno, pero no es barato. si tienes más de siete entrevistas es difícil que las puedas trabajar todas en menos de un mes, así que al menos un trimestre pagarás. lo bueno es que por 5€ al mes puedes dejar la suscripción en pausa, así que en mi caso las subí todas (100) y lo dejé en pausa hasta que podía trabajar los textos.
Great customer service
Owen was incredibly responsive and gracious. I had been worried that it'd be a long, painful process to deal with what we had to deal with. But Owen really made me feel comfortable with both the process and with Trint as a whole. Really appreciated his help.
Kept drawing money from my credit card & won't refund
I had so much audio material for my thesis that I thought I needed help and decided to get the paid temporary version of trint. First of all, I wouldn’t recommend it for transcribing German. It worked very poorly and I had to rewrite almost every single sentence.
So I didn’t really get the workload relief from it that it promised. But I also didn’t have the time to get hung up on it, so I just left it at that and continued working on my thesis. I had tried to log in one more time to delete the uploaded files but was told that my account didn’t exist (anymore). Since the period that I had paid for was expired, I didn’t think much of it and simply thought that’s how short-term accounts get terminated on trint. I finished writing my thesis and after being done I had some time to set everything up for the next chapter of my life. That’s when I realised that trint was still drawing money from my credit card. I wrote to the customer service and was told that they will cancel my account (and with it the ongoing transactions) and that I would get a refund. I did, but only for one month. There was still a discrepancy of 220€. When I pointed this out to the customer service and kindly asked for my money back, I was simply told that that wasn’t in their refund policy.
Not in their refund policy? Excuse me? They have mistakenly or wrongfully drawn money for a service I couldn’t use or didn’t exist (I couldn’t access the account since it didn’t exist) and now they don’t want to give me my money back?
I’m newly graduated and can’t afford this.
