I paid $30 for basically a bunch of babble. Trint barely anything transcribed that was coherent, so much so that I just had to re-transcribe everything myself.

A great alternative to traditional clunky, slow and expensive transcription services. I freelance for B2B magazines and record a lot of interviews. Transcribing is a huge time suck and outsourcing has been a costly and frustratingly slow process. Accuracy on Trint is an issue, depending on the quality of the recording, but not a big one. Speed and the ease with which I can review and edit questionable spots more than make up for it. Not surprised it was founded by a journalist. It's a game-changer!

I produce about 6,500 words of copy per month for a health publication. I conduct many interviews. Time spent reviewing interview recordings and pulling quotes has always been a major time-sucker, and I have eagerly anticipated a technology like Trint for years. The process is quick and easy and the review/editing interface is simple and effective. By recording at a high bit rate and sometimes doing some quick filtering and clean-up in Audacity, I get very usable results. Transcripts can and do contain a significant amount of inaccuracies, but it still allows me to find the segments I need. Other times, the transcriptions are amazingly complete and accurate. It depends on the recording quality and speaking style of the interviewee. I do not transcribe interviews with people who have heavy accents--it doesn't work well. The only feature I would like to see is a panic button to stop transcriptions in progress when I accidently upload the wrong file. But overall, Trint is a very valuable tool for me to get more done in less time. The cost is reasonable and within my budget. Just remember: garbage in, garbage out. You need high quality recordings. And resist the urge to "uh huh" and "yes" or interrupt during interviews, because it throws off the transcription.

I was impressed with how super quick Trint came to the rescue when I needed a 2.5 hr interview transcribed. The accuracy was not great but the speed of service made up for this. I'll definitely try them again as I was interviewing two people - one with UK accent and one with Aussie accent - so I imagine this made it harder to accurately transcribe.

The service is very easy to use and there are not a million hoops to jumo through to begin creating transcriptions. One thing to be aware of is that the PAYG plan could trigger fraud alerts at your bank if you make several transactions back-to-back.

Several years ago, as I sat down to transcribe fifteen long interviews for my PhD thesis, I wrote to a well-known software company, asking whether there was any chance of developing software which could interpret a recording from an MP3 or WAV file, and transcribe it. I didn't get a reply. Other software companies tried something similar, but the effects were frankly, risible.

I graduated a few years ago, and have been researching ever since, conducting qualitative interviews, and allocating days to transcribe each one.

Then this year, I heard about Trint. I tried it straight away, as I love new tech, and I was astonished by the accuracy. The time taken to transcribe an hour-long interview went from approximately 2 days, including verification, to 2-3 hours, including verification. There is a fair amount of correction to be done, it's true. But then I will watch whole paragraphs go by, with no corrections needed. It is truly astonishing, and has frankly, revolutionised my research.

Love th program it is easy to use I panic needed to do some transcripts never done them before. It took me ages doing it the old method way. Found your program on Google and it saved me a lot of time. Definitely would recommend it.

Amazing options (e.g. export file types, editing software, etc). Very quick and very close to 90+% correct. I had Trint transcribe 6 different audio files all with multiple speakers and background music/noise -- worked great! Their site will take up to 1GB worth of file size which seems to be an industry leader.

Amazing tool! I am a fast transcriber, but this tool saves me so much time that I have been willing to shell out for it on my own dime because it makes me so productive at work (transcribing meetings, webinars, etc.) -- worth every penny for the time it saves me and it's fun / easy to learn and use, great interface, great design overall, and makes cleanup a breeze. Particularly love that I can export in multiple versions, including interactive. I love it!

WOW! I was faced with trying to transcribe over 30 minutes of meandering interviews for a podcast. I'm a grad student and dont have a lot of money but the free trial and the extra $15 made my project SO MUCH EASIER!
Full disclosure- the transcript wasn't perfect but now I can listen to the interviews and just type in corrections as I go.

I needed to quickly transcribe video interviews for a web-cut and Trint's free-trial allowed me to test the software on a few of the videos before deciding if it was the right program for me. The fast turnover and ability to work on multiple videos at once was particularly effective for my project.
After using it to edit and highlight words from the first few videos, I upgraded to a paid plan so I could continue transcribing the rest of my videos before diving into the edit.

Thank you Trint for the free 30 minutes.. now with a plan, this will be a regular in my toolbox for marketing initiatives.

I'm so excited to use Trint! The interface feels like it was designed by someone who intimately understands the needs (and frustrations) of those of us who have spent years transcribing our own tape.

The platform is extremely easy to use. Despite transcribing interviews between people whose English is not their first language (and sometimes with less than ideal sound conditions), the transcription was of high quality and accuracy.

I have just used Trint for a few client podcasts and the quality is amazing. The output and flexible. I put some captions on some video and they are well synced. Im about to be a No.1 fan.

I've used Trint for a few days. I'm enjoying quite a bit. I like the open-entry open-exit feature that allows me to resume a transcript after a night off. I'm still getting used to the interface, but I'm sure I'll become much more proficient as time goes by. I also like that I can access my Trint transcripts all on line. This allows me to pick it up from other devices, if I need to.

Straight to the point and reasonably priced. The edit feature is great with fixing parts of your transcription that may have been jumbled due to background noise, etc. Would recommend.
