A very Honest Review being an active Freelancer status having active Pro Subscription at truelancer. I am working with the Truelancer for the last 03 years. This is the only platform, I kicked off my freelancing career and transformed my ID into the Pro membership, keeping in view of the ongoing jobs. I Completed lot of job with satisfaction and my experience with Truelancer is not always pleasant. What I commonly experience is unnecessary delays in transfer and settlement of payouts to Paypal on account of jobs, I completed. Like they are taking around 15 days or more to remit the funds from truelancer wallet to paypal without any reason. As per their SOP, Pro Members payouts are subject to be remitted within 24 hours or 01 day but they are remitting it in 15 days or more which is extremely unethical and unprofessional. The alarming thing is there is no support and responsible concern to respond your queries. Like I generated the support tickets and email but no one responds to my queries as what is going on. This represents something fishy fishy is going on with Internal affairs at truelancer with suspicious on their financial stability, which represents lack of liquid funds to pay the freelancers money. This implies that your earned funds are being utilised by them and now they are waiting for the other freelancer project money to settle your payment. During my last 03 years, I m experiencing this payment settlement issue 04th time. When there is payout request of $200 and above.
I am switching to some other marketplace because there is no transparency of affairs and lack of support. I m living through this freelancing earning, just assume the level of stress, I am going through for not transferring the funds, where we outstanding financial obligations to settle.
Also I had experience, where one the client awarded me the work and on completion of work, the client initiated the return request despite I delivered the work as per the specification. Truelancer team jumped in and insisted me to approve the refund request without scrutiny of the case. A week later, I found that the same client who initiated the return was found using my work on his client website. I reported the matter to Truelancer Team but instead of banning the client of account of fraud and a concern from Truelancer asked me to leave the matter as nothing will going to happen. Despite of providing all the proof and supporting links and the source files, I have. They didnt banned their client rather let him operate at their platform so that other freelancer will get victimised.
Truelancer has opted very unprofessional and unethical practices when it comes to attending the affair of Freelancers.

The sales process is highly focused on convincing users to purchase a Plus membership by promising access to high-budget and enterprise-level projects. However, after payment, those promises are not reflected in the actual service provided.

The assigned project managers offer little meaningful support beyond forwarding large numbers of project notifications and bidding links. There is minimal guidance, follow-up, or assistance in securing projects. As a result, members end up spending considerable time reviewing notifications with little tangible outcome.

My experience was disappointing, and the service fell far short of the expectations created during the sales process.

Overall, my experience with Truelancer has been positive, and the platform provides good opportunities for freelancers and clients to connect. However, I believe there are a few areas where the platform can be improved.
The website and web application sometimes feel a bit complex, especially for new users. A more user-friendly and simplified interface would make navigation easier.
I have also noticed that notifications can occasionally be delayed, which may affect communication between freelancers and clients. Improving real-time notifications would be very helpful.
Another suggestion is regarding meetings. Some new clients may not easily find or understand the available meeting options. Providing clearer meeting features or more flexibility with video meeting integrations could improve the overall experience.
Mobile usability could also be enhanced, as certain features are easier to access on desktop than on mobile devices.
Overall, Truelancer is a valuable platform with great potential, and these improvements could make the experience even better for both freelancers and clients.

I have used this site a few times and the quality of freelancers varies considerably (like any site). However, the site itself is TERRIBLE, and customer support is TERRIBLE. I requested a balance withdrawal THREE weeks ago, and it just says 'pending'. Customer support doesn't even reply, nor does my 'agent' on WhatsApp. Is this site just a scam? Avoid at all costs.

Giving 1 rating is injustice to trulancer, since there is no option for zero rating.

Very disappointing experience with Pro Membership.

I purchased the Pro Subscription worth around ₹12,000 expecting better opportunities and leads, but after purchasing the membership, I did not receive even a single lead.

Before taking the Pro plan, there was at least some activity on the account, but after upgrading, everything became completely inactive. It honestly feels like a scam because money was taken, but no actual benefit or proper support was provided afterward.

I also sent around 4–5 emails regarding this issue, but nobody responded properly from their support team. No proper communication, no resolution, and no support even after spending such a big amount.

Sharing this review so other freelancers and businesses can be careful before investing money in the Pro Membership.

after I paid for a pro plan and after some time in the next 15 minutes I just applied for some project and updated my profile got some email that like oh thank you for updating your profile and after 5 minutes my account got blocked, and I tried to contact the customer support but there was no one to respond me and I did not violated anything. All I just did is just updated my profile and applied the for some jobs, I would suggest you do not waste money.

One of the worst customer support I ever seen.

I was looking for a voice artist and shared a sample script with one voice artist in which the agent asks customer for the contact number -- just a part of script.

They incorrectly flagged it and blocked my account and when I reached out to them via mail (they just have mail available in India), they didnt even bother to respond. On the contact support page, they tend to promise to respond within 24 hours but they have not responded yet and it is been more than 6 days.
