Cease and Desist Order against Blue Ridge Bank, N.A.

WASHINGTON—The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) today released enforcement actions taken against national banks and federal savings associations (banks), and individuals currently and formerly affiliated with banks the OCC supervises.

The OCC uses enforcement actions against banks to require the board of directors and management to take timely actions to correct the deficient practices or violations identified. Actions taken against banks:

Cease and Desist Order against Blue Ridge Bank, N.A., Martinsville, Virginia, for unsafe or unsound practices, including those related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/anti-money laundering (AML), capital ratios, capital and strategic planning, liquidity risk management, and information technology controls. The deficiencies in the BSA/AML compliance program resulted in violations of law, rule, or regulation, and the bank also failed to correct previously reported BSA problems. (Docket No. AA-ENF-2023-68). The OCC also terminated the bank’s formal agreement dated August 29, 2022, which was superseded by the cease and desist order. (Docket No. AA-ENF-2024-13).

This bank is not trustful. they closed my account without any notice and it took about 6 months to get the money back from them. also extreme terrible customer service. they never ever answer your emails. I would recommend everyone to please avoid this "bank". (They are not a real bank either as they belong to Blue Ridge Bank, and when I called them, they also did not want to help me). So better avoid both of them!!!

They Closed my account with 7973$ for no reason and I have been emailing this company for over a month now 1 week and they. They keep telling me the bank is delaying the check, I have even called FIVE STAR BANK In so many Branches and they told me They don't work with Novel. So please be careful at first they will treat you nicely but in the end, when you start making Good Funds they will run away with your funds. be careful.

Needed a bank for my company, but didn't want to go in person so Novel was perfect for that. Didn’t have to go to the us

They closed my account without any reason i had $8000 in my account they said they are gonna mail the check but a month a has been passed no check has been mailed yet.

Novel deserve 5 stars for such commendable services!

Al día siguiente, enviaron otro email informando que no considere el anterior ya que había sido un error.
Creo que son errores que no deberían suceder.

I have just had an extremely unpleasant and unprofessional experience from Novel! I have a business for a year now. I applied with Novel, and after verification of documents and back and forth inability to read my documents, on January 26,2024 my account was approved.
Today, I received an unpleasant email notifying me that that my Novel account was closed due to “non-activity”, but when I sign in, I get a notification that the account “was closed due to suspected fraud”. I don’t understand what fraud have I committed when the account is still new and that I still have not conducted any transactions. This is truly unfair action. Extremely unhelpful support. Now I understand why they have unpleasant experience recorded by users on trustpilot. This is such a disappointing experience with Novel.

They have closed my account without giving a proper reason. They are saying some fraud. I am still unsure whether I will receive my hard-earned money.
