UK Energi Reviews 

After contacting several national solar companies, we decided to let a couple of local companies quote our job which was to fit solar panels, inverter & battery.

The first quote oversold everything (too many panels & too big a battery) & came up with an unfeasable plan to put 8 panels onto a single garage (impossible!) rather than fitted to our bungalow roof.

Then UK Energie came & explained that we would only need six panels with Tigo Optimisers (as the panels were being fitted to three different aspects to our odd shaped roof), Inverter & a 6kw Battery for our little bungalow. They quoted a competitive price but it was still over my budget so they gave me a very good discount. Everything was measured up & explained to me so I could understand it.

Payment was to be in four stages, with a £250 deposit immediately - followed by a payment to secure a fitting date, a payment before the day of fitting & a final payment when the job was finished & I was happy with everything.

The installation date was agreed for approximately two weeks later with good communication from UK Energie, giving dates of scaffolding, fitting etc.
Scaffolding team were good & put it up with the minimum of fuss a couple of days before the fitting.

On the day of the fitting (Friday), the two fitters & the electrician worked hard to fit everything & make sure it was working before they left. Over the weekend, we noticed there was a minor issue so we called them on the Monday when the office opened. They were able to monitor our system remotely & the following day, the guys were back to rectify the problem.

Overall, this has been a pretty stress free experience. The staff were hard working, friendly & knew their jobs. The scaffolding contractors were good & kept disruption to a minimum. On the few occations that I have had to call the office, someone has always answered the phone & had an answer to my queries.

Based on my experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending UK Energie to anybody who are looking to have solar fitted to their house.

We had solar panels installed by UK energi at the end of June, so the system has been working well beyond expectations and quoted parameters for well over a month now. We chose UK energi following a period of research and communication with other companies, as well as friend recommendations. We were pretty much decided, but what clinched the matter was the opportunity to have a site visit from Josh from the sales team, who spent a generous amount of time walking us through the technicalities, exploring the possibilities and the nature of the company without any hard sell or pressure. He was straightforward, honest and balanced and able to answer any questions we had. The impression we gained then was reiterated every step of the way by the process and the installation team. The scaffolders are the only part of the team not to be directly employed, but the companies used are specifically and deliberately selected. They and the installation team were a genuine delight to have around. The installation team were quietly efficient and worked like a well-adapted organism, each specialist knowing exactly what they were doing and how their work fitted into a larger whole. To a person, they and the scaffolders were highly professional, friendly, courteous and skilled and believed in the company, its mission and what they were doing.

This company were recommended to us by a neighbour. We have been really happy with the service. The guys who put up the scaffolding were so quick and friendly. The installation team (Ash, Dan, James and Reece) were absolutely fantastic!! They were all so friendly and really polite. They were also lovely with our cats!! They've done such a neat job and they went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and to help us to get the most out of our panels. We are already seeing the benefit; we're really pleased. We can't recommended these guys enough 😀

UKEnergi were very easy to deal with, and offered a well priced quote. Their staff are always friendly and professional. The system which UKEnergi specified met our requirements. The installation teams arrived when they said, and worked very efficiently and tidily. The system was commissioned promptly, and is working well. UKEnergi have provided all the documentation that we need and have given smooth and efficient service throughout. We would definitely recommend them.

I had my solar package installed,and I am thrilled with it,there was abit of a hiccup with installation,but Dan the manager,sorted it very quickly,I can not complement the whole process enough.fantastic from josh sales rep,installation team even olga,from accounts,highly,highly recommend.

Our installation date and team were confirmed when I signed the contract, and I was assured an experienced in-house team (not subcontractors) would carry out the work. However, two weeks before installation the team changed, and when they arrived, the roofers told me they had only been with the company for a few days.

After discussing the design, I was initially told only 7 of the 10 quoted panels could be installed. After I suggested using a different roof elevation, this was increased to 8 panels.

Once the installation was complete, I inspected the work and found scratched panels (which I was told happened in the factory), unnecessary holes in the mounting trays, bent panel clamps, and poorly installed lead flashing. My concerns were dismissed by the installers.

I contacted UK Energi immediately, and they sent their Senior Installer to inspect the work. Upon inspection they agreed the panels and trays needed to be removed and reinstalled, and also confirmed that a 9th panel could be fitted. This was completed 12 days later.

Before the revisit, I researched the GSE in-roof system to better understand the installation requirements. Although the senior technicians improved the installation, I still had concerns and asked GSE to carry out an independent inspection, which they did free of charge. They confirmed the system had not been installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, invalidating the 10-year product warranty.

As the roof could not be left exposed any longer, it was tiled shortly afterwards.

UK Energi offered two options: remove the entire system for a full refund, or provide a 10-year insurance-backed workmanship guarantee (replacing the original 2-year workmanship guarantee). We chose the second option and also negotiated a 10% discount on the overall installation. £200 was also deducted from the overall cost for the 10th panel that could not be installed.

Following the company's response, I would like to clarify a few points. Whether the installation was rectified in 11 or 12 days is not the issue. The key point is that, after inspecting the initial installation, UK Energi agreed that the in-roof mounting system and solar panels needed to be removed and reinstalled. The original quotation was for 10 panels. On the day of installation I was told only 7 could be fitted, and after discussion an 8th panel was added on a different roof elevation. When I later asked whether a 9th panel could be installed, I was told in writing there was "no way" this would be possible due to the panel, flashing and tile requirements. However, during the reinstallation, a 9th panel was successfully fitted. Even after the system had been removed and reinstalled, an independent inspection by GSE, the manufacturer of the in-roof mounting system, concluded that the installation still did not comply with the manufacturer's instructions, invalidating the manufacturer's 10-year product warranty.

I have simply set out the sequence of events as they occurred and readers can draw their own conclusions.

Excellent service throught the whole process. The only hold up was Northern Power for a G99 approval, but there was nothing UK Energi could do with that.

The initial call was great, with Harry running through the options and whole process. We had a short pause before proceeding, but there was no harassing for an update, which was great as I was expecting constant calls and emails.

The survey was ok, just checking everything was in order, and a plan with things like positioning and cable runs.

Install was all done within the day, and the guys were great. Very polite and just got on with it.

All in all, a happy customer. Only time will tell if the generation forecasts were accurate.

UK Energi were recommended to us by friends. We had had solar panels before at our old house and were considering for here but hadn’t been impressed with the original company.
We had a very positive experience from start to finish with UK Energi. Harry talked us through everything and didn’t push us in any way at all. He has been our contact right through. The 3 young men who came to install the system and panels were very polite and professional. Everything was done within the day. We are just waiting for the paperwork to come through to start the FIT. We would highly recommend the company.

I spoke with Harry on and off for a year as i learned and shopped around for my solar package. There was never any pressure to go with UK Energi.
When i got back in touch to progress the install the communication was great Harry was always on hand to answer any of my queries.
The install guys were great and very importantly left the garden clean and tidy, during it was rather messy/dusty they done an excellent job cleaning up.
Only criticism would be length of time the scaffolding was up but i understand that if any issue arise it is required to address.

I wouldn't think twice about recommending UK Energi to anyone who needs solar installed, although they're not the cheapest I'm pretty sure they're one of the most professional, knowledgeable and attentive installers out there.

Every single member of the UK Energi team were excellent, but I'd like to give a special shout out to the roofers, electricians and Harry - it was a breath of fresh air to have a company do exactly what they promised to the highest standard.

We've already had compliments locally on how good they look and from other solar users for how well they're performing.

The entire process of getting my Sigen home battery installed was absolutely seamless from start to finish. The installation itself was incredibly quick and easy, with zero hassle or disruption.

​Throughout the whole journey, I was kept well informed every step of the way. Any questions I had were answered almost instantly. A massive shoutout to Harry Hunt, who was brilliant to deal with. His communication was top-notch, he was professional, helpful, and made sure everything ran perfectly smoothly.

​As for the Sigen system itself, it is absolutely fantastic. The build quality is excellent, and it's incredibly intuitive and easy to use. Being able to track and manage everything so effortlessly has been great.

​If you're looking into home energy storage, I cannot recommend these guys and the Sigen system enough. Brilliant service and a brilliant product!

It started with our friends using UK Energi for their Solar 12 months ago and having a great experience - so we called them in after looking at various other companies. From the 1st phone call, to Josh coming out to see us, the emails with guidance from Head Office and suggestions, the Scaffolders and the Fitting Team, and now the aftercare Team it has been a really great experience. i uppose the memorable part so far, apart from saving electricity, was the Fitting Team up on the roof in pouring rain organising 20 panels - they were amazing and then Dan the electrician fitting the Tesla Firewall finding time to explain it all and going through the Tesla app with an IT idiot like me.
Now we are saving electric with lots of sun and battery power. we have invested in 2 EV cars now as well to utilise the power this product has bought to us.
i can only say from our experience that UK Energi have been amazing, professional and stilll have time to have the friendly approach. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

​We recently had a solar and battery system installed by UK Energi, and the entire experience has been outstanding.

​From the very beginning, Tracy came out to give us a quote and was extremely knowledgeable. She performed the survey there and then on the day. We had already received two other quotes from companies that didn't bother doing surveys on the day, both claiming we could fit 10 panels in one location. Tracy correctly identified that only 9 would fit. Now that they are up, she was spot on—there is absolutely no way 10 would have fit. She was great throughout the whole process, keeping us informed and answering all questions promptly.

​Because we wanted a larger setup, we needed to go through the DNO application process. Other companies tried to encourage us to go for a smaller inverter just to bypass the paperwork, but we definitely needed more than a standard 3.68 kW inverter. Tracy supported this in her design, and the team promptly got our DNO application submitted.

​Once the DNO was confirmed, the installation was booked quickly. The scaffolding was arranged for two days prior, put up promptly, and taken down just as fast after a couple of days once we ensured the system was working as expected.

​On the installation day, there were plenty of hands on deck. UK Energi uses their own efficient, in-house team who worked incredibly hard despite some really bad weather on the day. The only minor sticking point was a one-day manufacturer delivery delay with our inverter, which couldn't be helped from their side. However, their communication was excellent; they kept us completely up to date and promptly installed it the moment it arrived to get the system live.

​Since going live, we have been incredibly impressed with the performance numbers the system is generating. Jen in the office was also brilliant at getting our final handover pack over to us promptly so we could register with our supplier for our outgoing smart tariffs without delay.

​All round, it has been a very pleasant experience dealing with UK Energi. In today's energy environment, solar is a must. We have already recommended them to friends and they would easily be our first phone call for home improvements if we ever move house in the future. Highly recommended!

Josh was an excellent representative who explained the solar system and various options. We had 3 quotes and we chose Uk energi for the level of service. The installation went smoothly but was delayed due a late inverter delivery, Dan the ops manager communicated well and full install was complete a week later.

Thanks to Manni and Ethan for starting the install and Dan for putting the finishing touches. The Sig energy battery and inverter system is working smoothly and the app is a great interface to watch the sun give us free energy !

Fantastic company to deal with. We had spoken to a number of companies before Uk Energi was recommended by a friend. It was refreshing that they listened to what you wanted, gave there best advice and there was no pressure to make a decision. Our experience from start to finish was excellent Uk Energi couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a positive experience. The scaffolder and the installation team were first class taking care to ensure we were happy. When you phone the office everything is dealt with efficiently and you get the information and support you need. I can’t praise Uk Energi highly enough.

On the day of installation, the team of electricians and installers arrived on time and were great to deal with. The work was carried out professionally, efficiently, and with zero issues on the day.

We had one minor hiccup where a roof tile was unfortunately broken during the process. While I did have to chase this up to get it resolved, the communication otherwise was spot on. After the job was done, I gave Tracy a call to ask about removing the scaffolding, and she immediately contacted the office to make it a priority—it was taken down promptly.

Overall, I'm really happy with the final result and the level of service provided. I would highly recommend UK Energi to anyone looking to make the switch to solar.
