Viva were very knowledgeable and…
Viva were very knowledgeable and responsive in helping us plan our Peru and Bolivia trip, tailoring everything so that we could visit all the places we wanted. The communication from the local agencies was seamless and the support and availability of the NZ team when we missed a flight connection coming home was incredible and much appreciated.

(-) Staff at Kam Kam dunes were pretty grumpy (resented putting aircon on when 36 temp)
(+) more swimming pools than we were told about
(+) Generally, staff very good with exc English

South American 7 week outstanding holiday
Pia from Viva expeditions organised the most wonderful 7 week holiday through South America for us. We visited Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru.
Pia listened to our special interest in wildlife and what we wanted to do and recommended places for us to go. Highlights were the Brazilian Pantanal where we had 14 jaguar sightings, the Galapagos Islands, a wildlife paradise, great snorkeling, hiking and swimming, the Ecuadorian cloud forest (beautiful birdlife including humming birds) and the amazon. The lodges were in beautiful settings and all of our accommodation was great.
Cuzco in Peru had the amazing Machu Picchu and other Inca ruins. We even saw the Andean condor fly in Colca Canyon, Peru. Luckily no altitude sickness but going from Cuzco down to Sacred Valley to acclimatize really works.
Iguazu Falls was another stunning place, spectacular falls and there were five times the usual amount of water so quite a sight. Both Argentinian and Brazilian side of the falls well worth the views.
If visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina, make sure to see the Recoleta cemetery, fascinating mausoleums.
The guides were all great and the South American people were lovely too.
I would highly recommend Pia and Viva to organise your bucket list South American holiday. Her attn to all the little details like being met at the airport, hotel xfers, great guides and day trips was outstanding and made our trip so enjoyable.

We loved Colombia
We loved Colombia! So many friendly people. Had a fantastic time on the Magdalena River experiencing culture, dance and language. Can highly recommend the Signature Colombia itinerary with the river cruise.

A Great Review from my Clients who Viva booked their trip for
Waterfalls lodge -great! beautiful gardens, great rooms and pool. Wild Horizons was an organised operation, on tme for pickups etc . Zimbabwe was a whole different vibe from when we were last there (2011), it felt much 'safer'. Sunset cruise was fantastic too-saw many animals on the river banks and in the water. Guided walk was great too. Some of us did the helicopter flight over the Falls which was enjoyed. Khulu Bush Camp-again an amazing experience. Great accomodation, meals. Lots of animals -especially elephants. We were in the concession and also went into the national park for animal spotting. Originally we thought it was a 2hr road transfer from Vic Falls-this was actually 4. Zimbabwe 'roads' are something else! We tried to organise a flight out, but only if we could have another game drive in the morning but this was not possible, so settled on the road transfer again.

Very seamless pickups by drivers and guides. We were not caused any anxiety. It was most appreciated.
We were well served by the guides. Very knowledgeable, though a couple later in the trip did like talking and were quite opinionated. Then again I am pretty anti men whom I perceive as chauvinistic.
We liked the hotels that were booked and again the process was problem free.
The stay at the Tambopata Tesearch Centre was wonderful. A lovely guide Haimie and fab food. My friend just loved the animals. I wished I had had my cataracts fixed before the holiday!!
A great trip and thank you to Claire Harre in Christchurch for booking us in with Viva.
