Unfriendly, unhelpful, ancient.

Upon A1 reply:
1. The parts which the garage replaced are covered by the product/warranty that was supplied with the car.
2. Information received over the phone from the A1 Approved was inadequate and I was treated as a "no-claim possible" person before even it was known what's wrong with the car due to level of protection supplied with the car. A classic - the car comes with warranty... good luck to you, you'll need it).
3. Time sensitive nature of decision needed - car in need of repair within very a small time slot - resulted in being torn between having a very small portion of repair cost recovered against the warranty and not having a car for another week or having the car repaired immediately but not receiving any compensation.

As I sad before - the product is constructed to absolutely minimise the risk of them having to compensate for valid repair. It is my personal opinion that the company holds a very low standard and has no respect for their customer, and their product didn't meet real life conditions. It felt like I'm about to be asked to send a fax to their main office so someone can stamp it.

I can see the only time we have spoken to you is to explain the items covered under the free bronze cover. The product is our lowest level of cover, the garage does offer an upgrade to our Gold cover that appears to been have turned down by yourself. We can only advise on the cover in place.

Would never use again

Did everything to make it as difficult as possible for our local garage to fix (strip down car to get access to part to take photos of it), garage gave up in the end and left it for us to sort out. Then A1 asked us to take it to a Halfords to look at it, but the nearest one that does warrenty work was over 150miles away, everytime they had an excuse, NOT worth the hassle.

The garage i used for a very expensive…

The garage i used for a very expensive gearbox repair submitted a claim to A1 that was fraudulent.I made a subject access request to A1 and the photographic and written evidence i secured is shocking.Why A1 authorised the claim is beyond reason.The evidence i secured clearly shows that what the garage told A1 is false,the photographic evidence is shocking.The garage said there was an hydraulic fluid leak that contaminated the clutch,the photos prove that no such leak was present and this was verified by an IAEA certified engineer.A1 tried absolve itself by stating it wss the garages responsability to inform me of the nature of the claim which is ridiculous.Bear in mind that every claim made on your policy affects you the consumer.I can not urge you strongly enough to not use this company.Everything i have said in this review is truthful and i have the evidence to prove it.In regards to your response you are talking nonsense,what did A1 Approved do to verify that what thegarage told you was correct,nothing,did A1 Approved look at the garages photographic evidence? because if you had you would of known what the garage told you wasnt correct,and for your information it is not a new fault,the original fault is still present.I suggest you read the repirt from the IAEA engineer !

As a warranty company the information supplied allowed us to pay a claim. it is unfortunate that you have a second gearbox issue but the information supplied to us doesn't appear to be false and any issue you have with your chosen garage would need to be taken up with them directly.

Always excellent service and claim handling

The family has 4 vehicles under warranty with A1 Approved. Since first using their services 4 years ago I have always found them to be professional, courteous, always happy to help. Having made a few claims, every time they have honoured the claim without quibble. That's when these sort of companies really show their true colours, and A1 Approved have proved themselves worthy of my custom and I highly recommend them - why else would we, as a family, have 4 cars with them.

The Absolute Best I Have Ever Used!

I have used these kind of companies before and find that as long as you never have to claim, you're trouble free. A1 is the best ! Even my local garage commented on how helpful they were and I found my experience could not have been bettered. Prompt, friendly and helpful communication and the claim paid within 24 hours of presentation, with no quibbles. Special thanks to Ellie for all her assistance

Slow and poor handling of a valid claim

A terrible experience with a warranty company .

We Purchased a used V.W. Caravelle and was given this 3 month warranty with the car, Thank god I didn't pay the extortionate price to upgrade to a longer period of cover.
I noted the front shock absorber was leaking so booked it into my local garage for inspection/repair.
This is a covered part as per their policy paperwork and was a clear failure with no damage but it still took 3 whole days to authorise the repair once they had haggles the cost down to almost cost.

Terrible customer service when contacted and no way to discuss with the claims team what is going on. Only way to speak to a manager is to Email in!!!!

I have concidered your comments and ammended to 2 stars as I agree that the claim was paid out. However, this was expected as it was a covered component that had failed.
My complaint is still due to how the claim was handled and the poor communication from your team.
Maybe concider from the customers perspective, clear communication would have prevented me from leaving such a review in the 1st place.

We have paid £577 for the shock absorbers on a Free warranty, the delay was that your garage had quoted 6.2 hours for a 2.5 hour job.
We was simply trying to show them they were looking at the wrong book time to save you from being over charged.
Any complaints are to be done in writing.
Then to go out of your way to leave a bad review after we have agreed a claim and tried to stop you from being over charged.

Isue resolved …

Update: The issue has now been resolved and I have received the payment of £545.50.

Thank you to the team for addressing this matter. Communication improved and the case was completed. I am writing to share my experience with A1 Approved and Greenlight Automotive so that others are aware before choosing to deal with them.

I have had a Gold warranty with A1 Approved and have been paying for it for almost three years, expecting reliability and proper support when needed.

I also purchased my vehicle from Greenlight Automotive, but the car was not properly prepared before sale. The wheel alignment had not been done, and as a result, all four tyres wore out within just a few months, which is completely unacceptable.

I submitted a claim for suspension repairs totaling £774.50. After a long delay, A1 Approved confirmed they approved £545.50. However, despite this, I have still not received any payment.

I have been waiting for several months, and every time I contact them, I receive the same response — that they are waiting for payment from Greenlight Automotive. Meanwhile, I am left without my money and without any clear answers.

I tried to resolve this situation in a calm and reasonable way, but it has led nowhere. Instead, I am being passed between two companies, with no responsibility taken and no progress made.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to think twice before trusting these companies. This has been a very frustrating and disappointing situation.

An event with a twist.

I purchased a car and the engine suffered a catastrophic failure at two months. A1 Approved Warranty replaced it with a second-hand engine with no service history or the mileage. I expressed my dissatisfaction at what I was given and the fact l was two months without transport.
The engine supplied suffered a major engine failure and consequential damage. A1 offered another second-hand engine however the price they were paying for it gave me the opportunity to resolve it with a reconditioned engine. They agreed to pay for it and the consequential damage to the gearbox. So what started as a major let down turned into genuine customer care. It is important to give credit where credit is due and they deserve it 👏
