Advanced Roofing Ltd
⭐ 1-star review
I worked at Advanced Roofing as a yard/driver and had a very disappointing experience.
During my time there, I was asked to carry out tasks that I felt were completely inappropriate for my role. This included being sent to a boss’s house to clear dirt, rotten food and bin bags. I was also repeatedly asked to get into a Biffa bin to retrieve dirty bags with food leaking from them, despite being told that another bin was reportedly only around 10 yards away.
I was also asked to carry a load to Birmingham which, in my view, appeared to exceed my legal weight limit. On another occasion, I was asked to take a family to Scunthorpe for a funeral in my own personal car.
I paid for my own CSCS card because it was due to expire and I need the card to carry out my job. I am now extremely concerned because I understand that there is an attempt to take money from my wages, which would leave me out of pocket for a qualification/card that I paid for myself and need for work.
I also overheard comments in the office, including comments I understood to have come from a director, about members of staff that I found extremely concerning and unprofessional.
What concerned me most was an incident involving my next-of-kin information. I was told that a member of staff had been instructed to use my next-of-kin details to obtain my partner’s phone number, after which my partner was contacted and experienced problems. I also have a voicemail on my phone which I believe contains threatening comments from Lisa.
Based on my experience, I would advise anyone considering working there to think very carefully and make sure they fully understand exactly what is expected of them. My personal experience was extremely negative, and I felt very uncomfortable with the way I was treated.
