We had a very positive experience with Allcott Associates. We used them for a Level 3 Building Survey as part of our house purchase, and we were very pleased with the service.

David carried out the survey and provided a very thorough and detailed report. We received the report very quickly, which was particularly helpful given the time-sensitive nature of the house purchase. The findings were clearly explained and gave us a much better understanding of the condition of the property and the areas that may require attention.

The whole process was straightforward and professional, and communication was very good throughout.

Allcott completed a level 3 survey for a house I’ve just purchased. I was unimpressed with the quality of the inspection and survey report. Compared to a survey I’d had completed a couple of months prior on a house sale that fell through (by another local company) it was far less comprehensive and more expensive. My biggest gripe is that survey missed two fairly large areas of water damage from an ongoing roof leak in each of the bedrooms! The damage was within fitted wardrobes, but easily spotted. What makes it more frustrating, is that the surveyor highlighted defective roof tiles and said that they would likely result in water ingress, but failed to investigate if there was indeed a leak or water damage in those areas. There was, and the remediation costs are significant.

I also found the report quite light on detail and hard to interpret. For example, it repeatedly used generic terms such as ‘the X is in satisfactory condition consummate with its age’ with no further explanation and referred to multiple previous repairs to the house as ‘basic,’ without an explanation as to whether that indicated an issue. I had to visit the house again with the survey report to decipher what it meant.

We engaged Allcott in their Oxford office to produce a property valuation for tax purposes. They were efficient, carrying out the work on a timely basis and producing a comprehensive expert report at a reasonable price. I would recommend Allcott .

It is without doubt the best survey I've had: no superfluous waffle, despite how comprehensive it was; very clear and understandable and with the bonus of including cost estimates for the recommended remedial work, which most companies don't do.

It was very helpful for me that the surveyor rang me to give me an overview of the findings, as I'd requested, as I was keen to finalise my house purchase.

Definitely a company to be trusted. Buying a house is such a big investment that having this in-depth survey is a must, I think.

I made enquiries for a specific structural survey. The response was very informative and an appointment was made. The engineer came out and surveyed the problem area on the house. He informed me of the cause of the problem and made me aware of the work that was needed to fix it. The visit was positive and I would recommend the company to others.

Very quick and got the report really quickly as well. We are first time buyers so can't compare with others but we were happy with the report. Only downside I'd say is we never spoke to anyone at all. I expected someone to call to arrange timings but they liased directly with the estate agents. No issues i guess just a bit strange to be so out of the process i suppose!

Absolutely brilliant experience with Allcott Associates. We’ve had two surveys done by them for 2 different properties. We weren’t 100% sure on the process as we were buying our first home. The level of information documented in the survey was really useful. We got a level 3, structural survey on both properties. Excellent customer service from all staff members! Definitely recommend.
