Excellent service in finding tenants, managing all aspects of renting apartment making the experience stress free

Allen and Harris are a terrible company - if how they treat their employees is anything to go by then people should avoid having any contact with them.

The Estate Agent I bought the property with was much more helpful than Allen&Harris at Stoke Gifford who acted for my sale.
Allan & Harris are not proactive and do not pursue sales after they have found a buyer.
They don't keep other parties informed and are bad at communicating with other agents and lawyers.
I would not recommend this agent to my worst enemy. I have moved many times and have never encountered such a dishonest and deceptive agency.
Not only do they lie, but when found out, they lie even more to cover their tracks. They will not take any responsibility and they will blame each other in the office.
They used to be very good many years ago when Jonathan Siggins was there. It's not the same anymore.
Avoid at all costs.

The adviser who was also the manager gave wrong information false expectations did not meet the agreed timeline for the sale of the property resulting additional cost to me as the seller . the manager /adviser did not return my calls I reported this poor service to head office and got no response . this is the second issue I have had with this company and would advise potential customer to steer clear of this. Good sale talk but no follow through Delays thrpough every part of the process

Had to give 1 star as giving none was not an option. My daughter was a long term tenant (10 years plus) but was unexpectedly served 2 months notice to leave. Reason given was to replace the kitchen. This was a fabrication as the flat was then remarketed and let with nothing changed. The Allen and Harris bath branch who were the letting agent were unhelpful in finding alternative accommodation, devious and unprofessional in their conduct of business (lies, mixed messages, not responding) and finally delayed the return of the deposit. This was an appalling way to treat a long standing tenant of impeccable credentials. Please take heed and go elsewhere as the trauma and hassle of dealing with this agent is not worth the effort.

They don't complete what they say they will complete and when they will complete it. I am disappointed with myself that I didn't just complete the process myself to find a tenant - It would have been less stressful than trying to manage the agents and filter through what information is actually truthful and correct.

I just wanted to put into words my gratitude to Lucy of the Chippenham branch. My deposit refund was not being returned on time and was delayed but Lucy kept me updated on the matter and made phonecalls into the deposits team. A day after her follow up phonecall my money was returned.

Poppy at Allen & Harris, Witney helped us through every stage of our Mortgage application, and is supporting us through the process of buying our first house. She has been thorough, and thoroughly lovely. She is a delight.

Harry from Allen and Harris, supported myself and my partner with our mortgage process and application. This included 3 x face to face appointments. During the appointments harry was very professional, friendly and approachable. Things we didn’t quite understand, being first time buyers, were explained in great depth. Not only did harry sort out the mortgage application, but also all the important insurance covers too. May I add, 10 days after our mortgage application was submitted, we had an email back to say it was accepted! Much quicker than what we thought the process would take! ☺️ thank you! My goodness - where to begin… Allen and Harris clevedon branch Somerset. I’ve dealt with a lot of estate agents, as I’m sure most of us have. I’ve bought houses, sold houses, and rented more times than I’d have liked. This estate agent was by far the worst I’ve dealt with- which is saying something as we all know what they are like to deal with.

I dealt with two agents from this branch and both were not only unhelpful but rude and failed to do even the most basic of tasks when dealing with my rental. Both myself ( the renter) and the client ( the home owner) have been stunned by the complete lack of service. I can safely say I will never use this agency again and will make sure I don’t deal with any of the branches in the future - I will actively not peruse any further business dealings with the entire company - not just the clevedon branch.
Up to you if you use them- just be ware and be prepared to do a lot of the work yourself and deal with really very rude and unhelpful staff.

I used the Alan & Harris Swindon branch for a house sale in probate, Dave and his colleagues were 100%. Every time an issue arose, Dave was there to deal it.
I also found the weekly inspection of the vacant property very helpful. If I were to buy a house or sell I would be sure to use these guys. Good experience all around.

Thoroughly recommend Allen and Harris. Selling a house that was my grandparents and latterly my late parents was a difficult and emotional thing to do, coupled with me living a two hour drive away. The team were very kind, thoughtful. Kept me up to date and really went above and beyond, offering to get legal paperwork from their office to my solicitors for me. I would particularly mention James Lamb and Connor Sherman. I wouldn't hesitate to use Allen & Harris for buying or selling any property.

Just put my parents house on the market with Allen and Harris and not impressed with communication at all. An Open House was arranged but on the day of the Open house no communication with either myself or my brother)who lives in the house) so I was a bit concerned. I rang the office and was told one of their colleagues should have got in touch with me to say it had been pushed back two weeks. I had not received a phone call or message of any kind. I was then told it was rearranged for two weeks later, again no communication and nothing materialised.
Early days but already thinking of finding someone else to sell the house.

Emailed to ask for a viewing of a house, was called by (apparently) the head office and told it would be booked in. We arranged our day around the viewing and got excited to view what looked like a really lovely house. I got a bad feeling the day we were meant to view it as I hadn't had any confirmation email and was told that I hadn't been booked in at all. I then asked to book it in for another evening and my details were taken this time. Again, arranged our day around the viewing, didn't receive a confirmation email. Rang again and was told that it hadn't been booked in, they didn't have my details on the database and the vendor had said they only wanted people that were ready to buy to view the house and because mine is going through the process of being put on the market, that I couldn't view it. Absolute joke. Wasted so much of our time. AND they had the balls to ask if we needed an estate agent to put our house on the market - as if I would go anywhere near them now. Will be avoiding any houses that are being sold by them now and in the future.

They were polite and pleasant, hence the two star, aside from that, they were unprofessional and useless.

Despite having visited the property previously and confidently ensured us they could work in our area, we were dropped after one viewing day. Just a brief email saying we would do better with a more local estate agents, a complete contradiction to what was promised.

Sulayman was apparently the manager, came to the property initially, but for the viewing sent his colleague Ellise, who arrived late, leaving two families wandering the carpark for over ten minutes, then stood in the corner awkwardly as I did all the talking trying to sell the property. I occasionally looked at her to invite her to speak up but she just looked away awkwardly.

We told them how disappointing we found their services and would be leaving a negative review, to which they ignored and sent us an offer from a potential tenant almost immediately after we sent the email. Very odd.

Personally I got the feeling they couldn't be bothered to make the trip to the property from Didcot for a property that wouldn't be an easy sell.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Allen & Harris Frome, and I feel compelled to share my experience to caution others.

Firstly, the communication was abysmal. I was not informed that the buyer had pulled out of the purchase, which caused unnecessary delays and complications. This crucial information was withheld, and it was only through my persistent inquiries that I found out about the buyer’s withdrawal. Allen and Harris simply stopped responding to any and all communication.

Additionally, the photos taken of my property were of very poor quality with water marks and blown out colours. Professionalism was sorely lacking in this regard, and it felt as though minimal effort was put into presenting my property well.

Moreover, the manager was unhelpful and displayed a lack of professionalism throughout the process. Any attempts to address my concerns were met with indifference and a dismissive attitude. It was evident that customer service and satisfaction were not priorities.

Overall, my experience with Allen & Harris Frome was frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable and professional real estate agent.

We have been renting from Allen & Harris for 4 years. We have constantly been spoken to like dirt, treated poorly, ignored when we've brought up several issues within the house, the upstairs bath leaking through the downstairs light fixture(which went on for 2.5years), the upstairs toilet flooding the bathroom, the garden gate is all rotten, leaving open access to our garden and they are refusing to replace this.

Everytime we've spoken to them they have been rude, they've hung up on us in the past too. Our hot water stopped working, several other issues with the boiler , we went weeks without hotwater, we had to get a plumber and pay out of our own pocket, which they refused to refund.

They have breached data protection by sending emails with our information in it.

Now that we are moving out , they are dismissive of us , and pushing us out of the door. The female staff are the absolute worst to speak to. Very very unprofessional.

I will never ever rent or buy from them !! Please avoid!!

60% 1-star reviews at the time of writing, this should be the only red flag you need.

Firstly, they mis-sold the tenancy, and assured certain facts that were conditional on my signing were true, that turned out not to be true. There is no way I would have signed the tenancy if they had not been misleading. When confronted, they made demands from me which were unreasonable, including ‘not to open the window’ of which there is only one in the apartment.

Corey is especially corrupt, and the biggest scammer, stay clear as he will gaslight anyone and back track/say whatever he feels like to cover himself.

Stay clear. Remember, 60% 1-star reviews. That is the majority of all reviews.

Please don’t waste your time.
