This company was recommended by a friend, who, after advising
him of my NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE has since apologized profusely for recommending them!
I hired this company for $800 to come to my residence to find
all leaks associated with my in ground pool.
There worker arrived and after 20 minutes advised me that his
“state of the art equipment failed” and he would have to come
back, probably within a day or two. While he was here, the worker
said many negative things about his company.
Within 20 minutes, he returned and the owner of the company also
showed up. After about 15 minutes, he advised me that he found two leaks that were located by the filter, just under the ground.
At one point, the owner of the company kneeled down with her
ear to the ground and stated that she could hear the leak flowing
right under the ground (this proved to be a lie, as the leak was found to be approximately 5 feet under the ground). The worker (Freddie, pulled me aside and
advised me that he knows a company, or he himself could repair
the leaks for approximately $250).
When they left, they were in my driveway for approximately 15
minutes, and it appeared that the owner was scolding the worker.
The owner also advised me that she would send me an estimate to
repair the leaks. From that point on THE COMPANY GHOSTED ON
ME!!
At first, I dug into the ground on the exact spots the blue leak flags were placed and could find no leaks! I contacted the company, who never returned any of my contacts. I finally threatened them and they immediately contacted me and basically told me to keep looking, that I might find leaks in the area! This is the point where I began to question their honesty. It took me weeks to have a contractor come in to do extensive excavation. He finally found one leak approximately two feet UNDERGROUND and the other leak approximately FIVE FEET UNDERGROUND! The leaks were repaired.
As I had to drain the pool to repair the leaks, I refilled the pool only
to find that the pool was still leaking! I immediately contacted the company, and as usual they ghosted on me. After sending them a threatening text, they texted me back stating that
“THEY WILL COME BACK TO TEST AGAIN FOR $800.”
I wrote back to them advising that they never completed the first
job, and I find their proposal UNACCEPTABLE!
THEY ONCE AGAIN GHOSTED ON ME!
I AM PROCEEDING TO FILE A BBB COMPLAINT AS WELL AS HAVE
MY ATTORNEY FILE A BAD FAITH/PUNITIVE DAMAGES LAWSUIT!
I HOPE THIS LESSON DISCOURAGES THEM FROM RIPPING OFF
UNSUSPECTING VICTIMS WITH THEIR SCAMMING!!!!

I hired American Leak Detection and the first time out they detected a leak in the wrong location .. the plumbing company Jax that were great wasted their time digging where there was no leak and it cost a wasted plumber trip .. they said because they came out a second time and found the leak there would be no refund of the $500 charge (for maybe 3 hours of service) .. “DON’T USE AMERICAN LEAK DETECTION” .. I DONT RECOMMEND ..

American Leak Detection of Southern Virginia was able to isolate my mysterious leak within minutes (it was a broken pipe inside a closet wall). Hats off to Joe B. for his superb expertise. His 30 years of experience was quite evident.

Wherever run the Akron ,Canton,Cleveland. Rude condensending even said the listening device wasn't reliable. Totally worthless

Called this company because I had a commercial irrigation leak that was not visible at the surface due to a French drain system. Unfortunately, they were unable to locate the leak after 2 hours in a space that is roughly 12000 sq feet in grass.

Instead, during the technician's process he focused on a valve after a gas injection into the system, in a completely different area, than the area I requested they investigate. The technician stated that a sprinkler head had a steady stream of water coming from it, but that was not the case. The ground was simply wet from the previous night's irrigation cycle.

After spending approximately $1,200 and what I felt was far more time than necessary on-site, the original leak still was not found or detected.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company for irrigation leak detection. I would suggest contacting a reputable landscape irrigation specialist instead.

Pay money for the leak no luck they don’t know what there doing. I’m going drain guy with a camera system .

Beware if your insurance company urges you to use American Leak Detection ALD for an exterior water problem! was promised "lots of special equipment" and "would find and mark spot." Tech from ALD showed up and stated "only here to do water pressure test" "not find leaks".He looked at meter while i turned on hose. Then he checked pressure in hot, cold and irrigation lines (without even turning on!) H is report states all held pressure and NO LEAKS. Irrigation line is partially dissembled and FULL OF LEAKS WHEN TURNED ON!!! Then he walked around taking photos and making absurd unfounded remarks based on nothing since no other tests done. some examples are "you could put a french drain around entire house". I stated easier to find and repair leak! Then by just standing on cracked drive stated "think a leak in drain pipe" (covered by ins) but now denies and report states due to ground movement (not covered) I had a real plumber scope drain, few days later and there WAS a leak in drain pipe. then, again with no tests stated moisture back yard is due to rain. He refused to look at or even consider my dated photos proving onset of this problem began BEFORE ANY RAIN AND VERY DRY. He stated in report ONLY consider conditions during inspection. How many misdiagnoses this co. must have made if they think that conditions at time of ONSET are not important!!! This tech actually asked me (also in report) if my "water problems became worse with rain"??? I LOOKED, AT HIM, SEARCHING FOR A LOGICAL REASON FOR SUCH A STUPID QUESTION! (and found none) I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL HERE SINCE THIS TECH IS A RELATIVE OF PART OF MANAGEMENT BUT I ALSO HAVE TO BE HONEST. i FOUND THIS TECH TO BE VERY DISHONEST IN DENYING COMMENTSMADE TO ME AND DIFFERENCES IN REPORT!! I ALSO FOUND HIM TO BE EXTREMELY UNQUALIFIED TO BE DOING ANY WATER PRESSURE TESTS!! (OR PLUMBING WORK)

Terrible experience. The technician sent was unable to perform the job alone, yet I was billed for their inability to properly staff the service call. My private plumber confirmed their proposed solution to install another pressure valve at the other end was unnecessary, if they had been properly staffed with the appropriate amount of technicians for the job, the job could've been completed. I reached out after it was done on February 12, I got no response from the message. I left with Megan at the Cullman office and also no response from their website when I wrote to them as well. I received a bill on March 9 with no communication from them whatsoever, called again spoke with Megan again where she advised me she would get with a manager - she did call me back this time and said there was nothing their manager can do because the technician had already spent the time. This customer service is unacceptable and I would not recommend this company.

After reviewing the contract with legal counsel, I am prepared to dispute the full leak detection charge based on the terms of the Standard Work Authorization and the circumstances of the service visit.

According to the agreement, the service being purchased was "Leak Detection" with an estimated charge of $424 for two hours of detection time. However, during the visit the technician informed me that he was unable to properly perform the detection process because the gas used to pressurize the line escaped before he could attempt to locate the leak. He further stated that a plumber would first need to install an additional pressure regulator at the opposite end of the line so the system could be filled and tested before the gas escaped. He also indicated that this situation effectively required additional assistance in order to properly conduct the test.

Because the line could not be adequately pressurized, the leak detection procedure described in the work authorization was never actually completed. The technician therefore did not perform the service outlined in the agreement, but instead determined that the system required additional preparation before leak detection could even occur.

The agreement also states that if service is cancelled at the time of arrival, a $150 service call fee will apply. Since the leak detection service itself was not able to be performed, my attorney has advised the appropriate charge would be limited to the service call rather than the full leak detection fee.

We do not recommend.

They came out to fix our leak and caused a bigger leak.

Manager is rude and can't talk to him they think they are right. They will not do any repairs from their neglect. Manger came for a site visit. Only listed to there tech and not what we have found out about our pool and what they did wrong.

I do not recommend and highly recommend going with someone else.

Worst leak finding company ever! They marked the leak location as being in my master closet when in fact it was on the other side of the wall in my garage. My entire closet floor and slab were demolished for no reason. I called and they refused to refund me or take any responsibility For their mistake. Top it off, the supervisor hung up on me and said, no refunds, don't call back. They will be hearing from my lawyers.

Came out - looked at water meter; put pressure gauge on hose bib; walked around; took a couple of pictures; said they could not isolate leak because of ice machine (which they did not tell me until after they left); charged me $550 - want another $550 to come back out. DO NOT USE. I know exactly what I knew before they came out - nothing - and they charged me $550

Never followed up. I contacted them back in the beginning of December. The guy that came out was professional, detected where the leak was. Told me he'll get an estimate over to me in a few days. Reached out to him 4 times, contacted the office twice. All I get is owe we're on it, but on it never comes. I would recommend someone else.

This company failed miserably. I hired this company to find a leak in my main water supply line. I didn’t want my yard dug up, plain and simple. The technician used a tee post probe first, then forced air into the line and finally used the meter and probe with headphones. From the time he arrived he was adamant the leak was on the side of the home. That was the area the main water line would come in my house, he stated. He put his blue flag on the side of the house, and stated the leak was there. Plumber came the next day, saw the blue flag and started digging. Plumber even stated that this company was spot on, always right on leaks. They dug a hole close to 3 foot deep and nothing. I was upset at this time, the plumber stated this was the first time in his experience, your company was off. This was a break in a water line, not a drip, or small leak. The technician had his probe with the meter directly over the leak at one time, and still insisted the leak was on the side. I expressed to the company my disappointment and asked for a refund, no response. By the way, leak was in the front, 16” down and gushing water. Supervisor came out days later, made excuses, gave me half my money back. So basically I paid 263.00 just for a guy to come out, waste my time, and not find the leak
