I attended the Bsl level 1 last March to November ending with exams on the 25th November and a Pass !!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience , from meeting my fellow students to the friendly , helpful and most encouraging instructors, who i would go as far as to say also became friends. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly environment definitely helped make me feel at ease ,making me believe that at 61 I was not “past it “ and you CAN absolutely “teach an old dog new tricks “ A special thank you to Imran, Lorraine and the lovely Fatima for all your knowledge , kindness and encouragement !

Just completed BSL Level 2 with Appa Me (after completing Level 1 with them) and would highly recommend! Lorraine our teacher is amazing and Imran, Kyla and the team have been absolutely brilliant at helping us prepare for our exams. The sessions are always well structured with lots of practice time built in. I definitely plan to return to complete BSL Level 3!

All the staff were really helpful and got back to me quickly whenever I needed extra assistance. The course content was enriching and rewarding, I learnt so much and felt supported throughout. A pleasure to learn with, and going into the office was always a great time with so many great people around.

I recently completed my Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting. The teaching, guidance and expertise provided by Appa was second to none.
Having previously enrolled on a similar qualification with another provider and left feeling very disappointed with zero to little help, Appa and Kyla (as my personal tutor) were there every step of the way. They were very approachable and always available to help. I have already recommended them to others.

Julie and Kyla were extremely helpful, efficient and informative. There were times when I needed guidance to understand and complete the assignments linked to my course work and Julie was always there to assist me with this. The course leaders were professional and supportive throughout my interpreting course. They were always available for advice when needed, and were able to help with managing the demanding workload within the timeframe given. They showed kindness and believed in me even when I doubted myself! I would highly recommend Appa as a BSL course provider.

I joined Appa’s BSL level 3 course, the team were very supportive and informative. I’ve also made some great friends on the course as well. A positive learning experience.

Studied for my Level 3 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification with appa Me and was thrilled to pass first time. Kyla is an excellent teacher and has a wealth of knowledge around BSL, deaf culture and community. Loved every session, learnt so much and had a great time doing it.

I want to say thank you to everyone at Appa. I completed my Interpreting course with them and what an amazing support they were. They gave me support like I haven't had before.

Kyla and Julie were so knowledgable as they taught me and Irfan went above and beyond helping me with the tech side of things.

I live in Scotland so the fact that the course was remote was ideal for me.

I would thoroughly recommend Appa!

I've just received my Interpreting qualification from Appa recently.

Going into interpreting requires a great deal of commitment. I remember being quite anxious about that in the beginning, especially as I had seen some of my friends go through difficult times during their courses with other course providers.

Having signed up with Appa, the interactions with them from the very onset were very encouraging and filled me with confidence. My tutors/ assessors (Julie & Kyla) were superb in relaying the course materials, explaining to us what is involved in doing the course, setting realistic personal goals, providing one to one tutorials and relaying their decades of experience. These guys are serious reference points for me, and it still amazes me how they quote academic materials off memory.

I gained a wide exposure to interpreting professionals and Deaf academics during my studies through a range of CPD's, that were provided.

With a course that requires building a portfolio, the Appa team (Irfan and Imran) were nothing short of superb in helping all of us create ours. The administrative support was excellent. The systems they had in place allowed me to gather all of my work with relative ease and were always there to provide any additional support needed.

Whatever my troubles have been over the last 18 months or so, the tutors and support from the centre were always only ever one call or message away.

I strongly recommend them.

So glad I found APPA for my BSL interpreter training as the quality of teaching and organisation of the course was outstanding. Julie and Kyla supported and encouraged us to work to be the best we can and Irfan was also really supportive. Hugely grateful for the time and effort they put in, their passion for the profession and for getting us to where we needed to be.

Appa was the perfect place for me to do my level 6 BSL interpreting. You can work at a pace that suits you so I had mine completed in just over a year. Lots of support from Julie & Kyla and great that we could complete this remotely.

APPA were a perfect fit for me from start to finish! I was able to do the whole course remotely as I live outside London. They also assisted my with my special needs as a dyslexic person and supported me throughout the process. I found them friendly, professional and a pleasure to learn with!
