Very respectful and very knowledgable

Bought a Marin Kentfield here and paid extra to have mudguards fitted before collection. Waited over an hour at pickup with zero updates - was just told to "go for a coffee."

On my 10-minute ride home, the front mudguard's safety release came apart, the rear mudguard rubbed on the wheel, the chain guard fell off, and the lock holder was fitted too high, damaging my bag in the process. I have photos of everything.

After that many faults from one job, I didn't trust them to fix it properly a second time, so I had it sorted at another shop. When I asked Balfes for compensation for the mudguard or the repairs, they refused both, saying they needed to inspect the work themselves first - which did not address why I didn't feel able to bring it back.

Disappointing experience end to end.

I had a great experience at Balfe’s Bikes in Fulham, and I’d especially like to thank Sam for his excellent customer service.

Sam was extremely helpful, friendly and patient throughout my visit. He clearly has a lot of knowledge and expertise when it comes to bicycles, and he took the time to explain everything clearly and make sure I understood my options.

It’s not often you come across someone who is both genuinely knowledgeable and so kind and approachable. Sam went above and beyond to help me, and I really appreciated it.

Excellent customer service from start to finish. I would definitely recommend Balfe’s Bikes in Fulham, especially if you get the chance to speak with Sam!

Really nice staff and good communication v

Wonderful service from the staff in the Fulham shop, very friendly and helpful to me when I picked the bike up. I took my own pedals and they were fitted in an instant. No problems with collection timing or communication. I would recommend Balfe's Bikes to anyone.

The only downside is that the bike was not set up brilliantly. I rode it straight home from the shop and a couple of avoidable problems were on the bike: Left hand brake lever was slightly loose and the gears would not shift out of the one they were in. Fortunately I managed to rectify this and enjoy my amazing new bike.

Great experience buying a bike through the cycle to work scheme. Very knowledgeable team and very patient with lots of questions from me as a beginner into road biking, would highly recommend!

Exceptional service from Alex at Balfe’s Bikes (Fulham.) As this was my first high-end bike, his knowledge, patience and willingness to help were phenomenal. He made the whole experience easy and enjoyable, explained everything clearly, and gave great advice without ever being pushy.

Amazing experience!! My first time buying a bike and they helped me figure out the best one. Very helpful and easy through the entire experience. Also worked well with my cycle to work scheme. The staff there is amazing!

Need a little more engagement and communication in the process of purchasing and preparing a bike for pick-up (sizing, fitting, accessories etc) to make a great rating, such as taking your measurements before the bike is prepared, but staff very friendly and helpful.

Slow, uninterested, complacent, expensive. If you are lucky you’ll get the odd interested genuine staff now and then in their ever revolving staff. This shop purely capitalises on their location and does not care much. Probably the worst chain in London and overly expensive.
