Went to the store to pick up crankset. Staff suggested buying crank arms individually could have been cheaper- we explore option. In the mean time I was offered a refund for the part. We couldn’t buy the arms individually so we just bought the part again. The issue is that now I was changed £5 more for the same part for no particular reason, meaning that. The refund equated to £5 less than the part ordered and I would have been £5 better off having not listened to the shop attendant’s advice.

I did like the service offered but I’m annoyed that I lost out £5 for no reason…

I received incredibly poor service and won't be returning.

I dropped my bike off with a flat tyre and was told it would take a couple of days. After hearing nothing, I went back a week later to check on it and was told they were busy but it would be ready by the end of the week. Another week passed with no communication, so I visited again and was given the same response.

At no point did anyone contact me with an update or provide a realistic timeframe. The only information I received was when I chased them myself, and even then it turned out to be misleading.

Three weeks after dropping my bike off, I finally received a phone call asking what was wrong with it and what work I wanted done. This was unbelievable, as I'd already explained everything when I dropped the bike off. It was clear they hadn't even looked at my bike in those three weeks.

I was then quoted an extortionate £340 for the repairs and other add ons. After weeks of waiting with no communication and no progress, this incredibly disappointing.

The lack of communication, poor organisation and misleading timescales made for an extremely frustrating experience. I understand businesses get busy, but keeping customers informed is the bare minimum. Unfortunately, the service I received fell well below expectations, and I would not recommend this shop.

Friendly and helpful staff in store (Fulham).

I attempted to pick up and was told my bike was ready but arrived and it wasn’t finished with the safety check then I picked up the next day and they gave me the wrong bike which they corrected on the spot but if I hadn’t noticed, I would’ve walked away with the wrong bike. I also felt like the person who helped me didn’t care to set the bike to my height and fit it to me. When I was picking out my bike, one of the men helping was very knowledgeable. We had to wait a bit in order to find someone to help us because it was quite busy.

Every time I have been into the store the staff have been excellent. Enthusiast, helpful, and just really nice!

I was one month waiting for my bike to be repaired and they gave it to me back with a broken part of the mudguard.

The communication from the Fulham store was horrible. They had my bike for two months and I had to chase them constantly for updates to my bike.

Staff continued to talk among themselves although they could clearly see I was waiting. Didn't even say Hello!

They did manage to fix my flat back tyre , the day after . I had to beg but they always try to deliver.

Always amazing customer service. Helpful knowledgeable nothing to much when asking questions.

This store and its employer and employees are quite disappointing! It would be best for this establishment to be shut down for good. Absolutely shame behaviours!

Helpful staff in the Fulham store but items shown on the website as being in store for immediate collection were not in store and could not be found so had to go to Chiswick.

No nearby cycle locking hoops for customers to lock bikes up! Please have a word with the council to rectify!

The team were very polite and efficient on the repair of my bike and texted me within 24 hours to say that it was ready for collection. They also checked everything again before handing it over to me. I would definitely recommend Balfes Bilkes for all your repairs and servicing.
