One Bad Apple
I’ve been an online customer of Ballard Designs for years & was happy to see them open an actual bricks & mortar store in my town. I am in the process of redoing another bedroom & bathroom, so I made a trip to visit the store for materials. A designer greeted me upon entry - great. I told her what I was there for. She said to please look around. Several minutes later the manager appeared, didn’t say anything...just gave me a scowling look over her glasses with eyebrows raised. So very unwelcoming. How would anybody ever feel comfortable shopping there after that. Pardon me for needing to see if anything in the store inspires my redo. It’s now very noticeable that there are never any cars parked in front of Ballards. This sort of thing is heavily responsible for the decline of big box retail. You’d think they’d realize this.

Purchased white glove service -- delivery person dropped product off. Had to plead for them to bring it up on the front porch (4 steps up -- no obstructions). Refused to unpack and remove box/packaging.
Called Customer Service which had THE WORST most insolent attitude I've ever received from any company I've ever engaged. At these prices? You've got to be kidding.

Yes, there have been small issues in the past, but nothing to warn people about until now..
Last week 1/28/24 a pick up & exchange for large french armoire was canceled by their delivery service JBHunt, because it was damaged in their truck, the 1st damaged armoire was delivered Early Feb by JB Hunt.
Today I called B. D. and the the order for a new Pick up and exchange is sitting in a hold pile...Needs to be reviewed? Once JB Hunt picks this up from BD it takes them 2 to 3 weeks to contact me for a new delivery and pick up the 1st damaged one they delivered the first of Feb.
BD is unable to expedite shipping, unable to do anything except kindly say they are sorry.
Kara in customer service is a fantastic employee
Kara in customer service was absolutely wonderful. Possibly the best customer service experience that I’ve had. I made an error in my order. She was so helpful, quick, efficient, kind. She was extremely patient as I had commotion in the background of my call. I am very satisfied with the customer service! This company is a bit above my price point; but with customer service like that, I will be a returning customer.

Always extremely happy and satisfied with their products. Great sales. Amazing customer service in-store (Tyson's Corner, VA) and online. I have ordered everything from bedding, fabrics, lamp shades, home decor, lawn and gardening and rugs and I have not returned any items due shipping or qaulity.
