Medium rare steak was served stone cold and raw. Staff completely oblivious to customers , took 20 minutes for my bill to come after multiple requests

As a group of 24 we’d booked an evening meal at the Bar & Block steakhouse.
We were seated quickly and efficiently by the friendly staff at several tables in close proximity and not herded together on a “long” table .
This proved very efficient with several servers delivering the plates at the same time, while still piping hot …. marvellous!!!
The servers, ably supervised by the ever laughing LAUREN, were so patient in sorting out who ordered what for such a large and loud party .
The menu choices were delicious and the portion sizes , generous.
Again the staff excelled themselves with fast, efficient and friendly service !!!

The staff were very helpful but not over the top, there when you needed them but not annoying. Food was really good had a really good afternoon. Very clean and warm

We had never heard of this place but needed a reservation for Boxing Day. Glad we chose here because our waitress Alexis was amazing. Attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much to ask! Food and atmosphere was fabulous. Claud our other waiter was amazing too. Helpful and friendly service. 10/10 experience. Restaurant had had a classy and sophisticated style. Seating booth was comfortable and relaxed too. Food was tasty and didn’t taste processed. And these two staff members made the vibe very enjoyable for our Boxing Day celebrations. Would recommend!

Waited for over 90 minutes for food which was over cooked and barely warm. There is not enough staff for the number of people. This is not a good dining experience.

This was the worst dining experience I have ever had the restaurant was cold and we were placed below an air-conditioning unit that was constantly blowing out cold air,we asked if we could be moved to another table but we were told no. My wife and I ate with over coats on. Service was very slow and when asked to order desert we were told that the table was required for someone else. It was not our fault that service was slow and feel that this restaurant should be reviewed by Whitbread senior management.Staff were rude unhelpful and should not be employed in hospitality at any time. One thing for sure we will never return. Whitbread is normally a good brand but this must be a failure.

I booked a table for 30 Dec and was looking forward to my 241 cocktails. However I was told that they could not sell the 241 offer on cocktails due to a system error on the till. However they if you wanted to purchase one cocktail you could. What a pathetic answer. If you are unable of offer 241 you need to remove the offer from your menu and your website.

From start to finish, this place is a joke. Waited 15 minutes to be seated and the place was dead? Anyways, the starter was the scallops which were terrible and very bland. Paid extra to get the larger fillet steak and it came very under cooked. Asked for it medium rare and it nearly looked blue. Had to send back and it took 20 minutes to correct meaning everything else had gone cold. So many other bad thing happened. Avoid if you want a nice meal out.

Very disappointed! This is our 2nd visit for my 40th birthday and we decided to come back because our initial experience was good. Unfortunately this time, the creamed spinach is just sautéed spinach in butter and the garlic mushrooms are just plain mushrooms. Complained to a couple of waitresses and clearly the chef don't take criticism well as none of them got back to us. One of us is coeliac and on the gluten free menu, they've got garlic mushrooms but when we sent it back as they were just plain mushrooms, we were told that the garlic sauce is not gluten free. Why put garlic mushrooms on the menu!?! Totally disappointed and unimpressed with the customer service this evening.

Went for a romantic weekend away in Birmingham’s Waterloo Street Premier Inn, with my Partner, went to the Birmingham branch and were seated quickly and our drinks and food orders were taken quite quickly. But then we were made to wait A WHOLE HOUR until our food arrived! Not only that but we received no apology for this either at the time.

When we eventually got our food, I asked for peppercorn sauce, which I never got and because we’d be forced to wait an hour for our food, we had to order more drinks.

We’d finished our mains and we’d ordered dessert which although it arrived quickly, mine was cold. Mine was the chocolate dome which comes with a caramel sauce which makes the dome melt and reveal what’s inside; but it was too cold.

We got the bill and we’d seen the bill come to £28. Which you wouldn’t think is out of the ordinary BUT we’d paid for the MEAL DEAL in Premier Inn, which if you’re not familiar with you pay for breakfast and dinner in their restaurant for the duration of your stay. The dinner was a 2 course meal and a drink and you only pay for extra drinks. Or so we thought! It wasn’t properly explained to us that 3/4’s of their menu had surcharges and that I would literally be charged £5 a bloody PRAWN!!

Really angry at this and we left the restaurant very stressed indeed. Went back the next morning and tried to speak to the manager who didn’t give a toss about us, faked an interest in our plight and lied to us about getting “special treatment from the general manager.”

We went back for dinner and they only said “well we’re only giving you free drinks” at this point I wanted a refund from our meal deal I was FUMING!! Nobody gave a damn how we felt and how much it RUINED our holiday together!! Not only that but they seated us at the EXACT SAME TABLE WITH THE EXACT SAME INCOMPETENT SNEERING WAITER!! We called Premier Inn customer service who gave us a voucher for a Beefeater and honestly, BEEFEATER ARE BETTER!!! Stuff Bar & Block! We will NEVER WASTE OUR TIME AND MONEY THERE EVER AGAIN!!!!

Meal took a long time but our server Paige was amazing to try and stop our 15 month old daughter from getting too bored she bought her out some snacks and fruit and kept us informed about our food so we didn’t feel forgotten

On Monday (26/09/22) evening I had a reservation booked for my birthday dinner for 19:30 for 14 people at the Wimbledon branch. I am saddened to say ‘disappointed’ is an understatement.

Firstly, one guest happened to arrived slightly early for the booking, possibly 20 minutes early, and asked to be seated at the table booking but was told by the waiter that she is too early and will have to wait. Now, I’d understand if it was extremely busy…but there was LITERALLY 3 tables inside the ENTIRE restaurant. It is a fairly large restaurant and the guest could have easily been seated instead of forced to stand by the door. I found that extremely rude and unnecessary.

Secondly, upon all of the guests arriving, naturally we started by ordering drinks. We ordered drinks within a few minutes of arriving…25 minutes later still no drinks at the table. Not only that, but the only reason they did eventually arrive is because I went to the bar (where the drinks had been sitting for 15 minutes) and asked the bartender to bring them to us.

Lastly, the food. We were sat with a full view of the kitchen. We could see that our food was being plated (with no sense of urgency I may add, something you would expect when cooking steaks for almost 14 people) and our waiter was nowhere in sight. We were already afraid our food would get cold on account of previously seeing two other burgers sitting on the kitchen counter for 15 minutes. Our food was no exception. Eventually it arrived (after some time) and my medium rare sirloin steak was freezing to the touch. I sent it back and warned that if it gets put back on the grill and cooks more I’ll be upset. It arrives back luke warm, dry, and sinewy. No one else was terribly happy with their meal either.

Not only was this embarrassing but pretty much ruined my birthday dinner. The food is average (overpriced for the level of service and food you get) and the service is absolutely HORRENDOUS.

Highly disappointed.

Waited so long for the food then when it came it was all cold. We complained but the damage was already done. Wont go back there for the money you pay its definitely not worth it! Emailed my complaint to them and got no response.

The bath restaurant is good apart from the supervisor, she is horrible so rude to people.
We used to go once a week as a team on a Friday but not anymore

We went for birthday party they sent us a voucher 25% of mains we spent loads of money drinks and food went to pay would not give us discount managers discretion wow what did we do wrong we are a quiet family been there before no good complaining they said managers discretion anybody else had this experience I cancelled all Christmas parties in Hammersmith go somewhere we are appreciated

Worst experience ever.

Food wasn’t great. Steak wasn’t cooked as asked. Sweet potato fries were reheat and soggy and full of oil.

Service was bad from start. When I said no to a dessert was issued the bill immediately.

Solo female diner made to feel very uncomfortable .
