Bark Busters UK Reviews 

Had a trainer from the Wirral for a year contract with Bark Busters. This didn't involve them coming to work with me and my dog for the full year. The appointments were not always regular, they were every 4 or 5 weeks. After now working with another trainer I have now seen a difference in ONE week in my dog than I ever did with Bark Busters. Bark Busters used positive reinforcement using treats which in my opinion masked the problem long term due to not addressing the root cause for the behaviour. My dog did not respond well to treats. My dog is highly reactive to mainly dogs but also people. After spending a year with this trainer I saw no difference at all until I had an idea to use something my dog does like which is a ball. I had to mask the problem with this ball just to get my dog outside because Bark Busters did not provide me with any useful techniques to help my dogs anxiety and fear. This only worked for so long but as soon as she saw a dog she was barking continously which then made it very difficult to get her attention back to me. After the contract ended I was still left with a reactive dog, to the point she escaped her harness recently and lunged at another dog through fear aggression. Also, the trainer once took me and my dog to a public shopping park and because my dog didn't walk when she wanted her to she dragged her across the tarmac infront of people and myself, nearly letting the harness come off my dog. That is NOT how you correct a dog or get them to trust you. I would not be seen in public dragging my dog. I would not recommend Bark Busters. They are happy to take your money but give you no results and you still have the same behaviours from your dog as you did when you started the contract. Half of their 'techniques' are learnt off the Internet and do not work.

If someone was to ask me the following questions after completing the contract with Bark Busters-
1. Can you now walk your dog without her barking continously at one of her triggers? The answer would be no.
2. Can you walk your dog without her being fearful and unhappy? The answer would be no.
3. Can you walk your dog through a car park back to the car without her having a meltdown? The answer would be no.
4. Is your dog trained after using Bark Busters? The answer would be no.

I would only have to send this company a video of how my dog behaved after the contract had ended to show just how little they helped. Don't waste your money.

Gina our trainer is fantastic. She listened our problems with our dog she started to get results very quickly with just a few easy changes to our routine. Only A week later we have noticed a massive change. Definitely would recommend.

Meeting gavin for the first time we as partners were nervous for the training with Bruce but soon as we met gavin the nerves went he was really great with us very polite and really good with Bruce he gave a great insight to Bruce’s training especially with his diet with only one session gavin has gone away I we feel more relaxed and confident with Bruce so Thankyou Gavin and bark busters.

Great experience so far with Sarah, she's put us on the right path, it's early days but with Sarah's guidance we will get there,a change already in both our dogs.

We had our first at-home training session with Sarah today for our dog, Winnie, and it was absolutely brilliant.

Sarah spent three hours with us and we learned so much in that time. She gave us loads of practical advice that we can actually put into action straight away, from changes to Winnie’s diet through to all the little training techniques and tools, including the water spray and bottle. It was incredibly useful and tailored specifically to Winnie and the areas we need to work on.

We came away from the session feeling like we had a much better understanding of Winnie and, more importantly, a clear plan for what to do next. I genuinely can’t wait to start implementing everything Sarah recommended and seeing the difference it makes.

We’ve already booked another two at-home sessions with Sarah, which probably says everything! I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for knowledgeable, practical and genuinely helpful dog training.

They don’t deserve one star awful company, awful experience with one of their trainers I say trainer lightly.

Not a great experience from Bark Busters. Despite telling the company and the behaviourist that covers Hertfordshire in her initial phone call that I had only had my dog for two weeks, and that she was ex breeders dog with lots of issues, an appointment was arranged. Literally 10 minutes into the appointment the behaviourist said that it was too soon for a behaviourist and she asked for £535 ontop of the £60 I had already paid. I stupidly paid and should have said no. I received generic information that didn’t apply to my dog and nothing else. There is more to write but I have complained so will wait for Bark Busters response and from the behaviorist. Bark have responded that they will investigate but zero response from the behaviourist from Hertfordshire.
Reading the other reviews it seems this company has a history of taking payment and not delivering. Think I may need to take legal action. I am taking legal action now.
Surprise surprise the version of events from the trainer are very different to what actually happened!

I was very pleased with Abi, the trainer for my miniature Dachshund, she explained a lot before she started. My little Puppy of 4 months is a very excitable little dog. Her name is Lily and jumps at everyone non stop. Everything I tried failed but Abi had her in control in a very short time. Lily needs a lot more help but as she is only a little puppy but I know that we will succeed.I highly recommend Bark Buster. Thank you. Maria Pugh

I feel I must comment on my experience of using Bark Busters,I purchased a one year training package for my rescue dog in June 25 and from the initial 3 hour session visit I had reservations on the methods used such as using (BAR)and a water spray which only made my dog more hyper,other sessions including recall and reactivity witch was not addressed causing my dog race back towards me knocking me over and chewing the lead through and running off,my trainer didn't seem to to be able to deal with it over a number of sessions so very little improvement was made,there was no Plan B other than suggesting some nine months later that maybe return my dog to the rescue centre,quite frankly I found this appalling and unprofessional.My final comment would be.DON'T BOTHER WITH BARK BUSTERS AND SAVE YOUR MONEY.PS my dog has improved much better without their help.

Clear and precise instructions

Tom is brilliant he took the time to learn our problems with our cane Corso and gave us the reasons for his behaviour.
As he is a rescue dog we didn't know much about his past life with it now being 2 weeks of training 80 percent improvement and improvement is still continuing. He is not jumping up or mouthing. Generally a different dog. We have a dog that listens to requests and most of all happier. That is the main thing.

Kirsty was wonderful,she explained and demonstrated her training methods clearly and patiently. She has given us the confidence we needed to continue training our very lively and affectionate young puppy

Kirsty is really supportive in finding new ways to strengthen my relationship and respect with the boys and great at giving positive feedback

We are happy with the service and the advice that we was given and we will recoment lynn to any one and i feel more comfortable in myseft for takeing my dog out with lots of people and other dogs around.

What a transformation of our Cavapoo!
Kirsty, from Barkbusters has given us so much written, verbal, & practical information , in how to help our Cavapoo deal with his many natural issues, but unsettling things to us. We practice daily different methods with him, & are now ready to deal with him & the situation. Inside a week he has progressed so much he is a joy to walk & continue with the training. So thankful we went to Barkbusters!!

Gavin is a great trainer, well mannered, listens to what you want from the session and delivers perfectly.

We had issues with jumping up, seeking attention, we were at our lowest ebb and felt rehoming was our only option. Liz made a difference from day 1. Murphy was a different dog. It still is a work in progress but I am certain that we will have a great relationship with our dog going forward.
