I’m very disappointed with the customer service I received while trying to purchase a wardrobe.

I contacted customer service via Chat because I was deciding between two colours and wanted to make sure the wardrobe would match my existing bedroom furniture. I was connected with Michael and asked whether colour samples were available. I was told they weren’t. I then asked for the colour code, but was told this wasn’t provided either.

When I explained that colours generally have codes, Michael said he would email me within two working days to confirm the colour. As it was Friday, he said I would receive the information by Tuesday.

As I wanted to place my order as soon as possible, I asked whether he could check if a store approximately 15 miles away had this colour on display so that I could view it in person. He said he could not confirm whether the store had it.

I said that was fine and that I would wait for his email, although I might visit the store in the meantime. At that point, Michael asked me, ‘Don’t you want to go to the store instead?’ - I explained that I wasn’t sure yet, but asked him to proceed with confirming the colour by email.

The following day, I decided to visit the store partly based on the suggestion to go in person. This resulted in a two-hour round trip, only for me to discover that the store did not have the wardrobe colour on display at all. In fact, the store only had beds in its showroom.

This was extremely frustrating because I had specifically contacted customer service beforehand and asked about viewing the colour in store. Even though Michael could not confirm whether the colour was available, I was encouraged to visit the store rather than simply being told that there was no way of checking.

While at the store, I also liked one of the beds and spent around 15 minutes browsing but no member of staff approached us or offered any assistance. We ultimately purchased our bed elsewhere.

To make matters worse I havent received the promised email confirming the colour code either.

Overall a very disappointing experience. I was genuinely ready to purchase a wardrobe and potentially a bed but the lack of accurate information, the unnecessary two-hour journey, the lack of assistance in store, and the failure to follow up as promised have completely put me off purchasing from this company.

A sale was there to be made, but the customer service experience lost it.

The lady who helped us was brilliant. She is very detailed and knowledgeable and very professional. I hope you will understand the value of your staff and won’t go for cheap labour. I actually bought a bed from John Lewis and they messed us a lot and I decided to get a refund at the end and bought it from your company because of your customer service. John Lewis lost because their bad customer service

Decent in-store experience. Salesman was attentive but not pushy and offered a decent discount. We had to wait 2 weeks for the mattress but delivery on the day was quick and the delivery men were polite and even took their shoes off

Addy was very knowledgeable and helpful. He spent time showing options. I did not feel rushed or hurried into making a decision on the spot. Following a couple of visits I decided on beds. They have yet to arrive.

So far I simply cannot fault Bensons For Beds. I visited the New Malden Branch and was greeted by Monika who was knowledgeable, courteous and above all friendly. Nothing was to much trouble for her. A stark reflection of our visit to Dreams in New Malden who we visited before Bensons For Beds. All five staff members completely ignored us and sat there on their phones. Monika however greeted us instantly. A real credit to your company. I would highly recommend a visit to see Monika…. Five Star ⭐

Great service from Adnan in Bensons for Beds, New Malden. Staff were knowledgeable and professional, and there is a good selection of stock in store. We were able to try various mattresses until we found the one we liked the most, and at no point felt rushed.

Very helpful and polite stuff that provided useful info when we were choosing our new mattress. Delivery guys were on time, polite and respectful of the property.
