Full marks. I have been toiling with getting my boiler serviced for three or four years with local one-man engineers not doing the job properly and disappearing afterwards. Blackhall came on the day with a competent man who did the job and gave me assurance for the future - and told me that my heating system remains in good nick if it continues to be properly maintained. Why go anywhere else.

Tim's visit involved servicing our recently purchased boiler and also explaining the situation re the guarantee and adjusting the boiler thermostat.The work was carried out promptly and efficientlyand clear explanations given re the thermstat.

First scheduled visit was estimator to decide a solution and collect details for a quote. Left me with a diagram. Turns out it was a simple job – just a few short lengths of standard water pipe and half a dozen standard plastic elbows and fittings.
Waited 2 days for a simple quote to be generated, which I accepted. At this point you can of course estimate what you owe so far for the first visit, from the company website.
Second scheduled visit was a plumber to do the actual job. Started with a quick look around, followed by a special shopping trip to the plumbers merchant to get the bits for my job. A small quantity of standard materials that most plumbers would probably carry in their van.
Can’t fault the work itself and the guys were very professional, and they solved my plumbing problem. 5 stars for that.
But the company’s MO seems quite antiquated. My electrician, for example, uses a web app on his mobile phone to create simple quotes during the first visit, and I accept by reply email. Can all be done in 5 minutes. Does wonders for his productivity and quote conversion rate - the bill of materials it generates ensures he has all the correct materials in his van when he comes back.
£171 for a quote, two days waiting for the quote before the actual job can be scheduled, paying for a shopping trip that might have been avoided.
Overall, it turned out to be quite expensive for a small job, I had to arrange to be at home twice, and the overall time from start to finish was longer than it could have been.

Boiler Service. Company very accommodating with booking a convenient date for the work. Their engineer arrived on time was friendly and efficient and went about the work without delay. Paperwork arrived digitally on the same day.

Got an appointment the next day, useful as I was planning to go away for a short trip.
Work to check gas boiler was carried out efficiently. I was given assurance that the boiler was doing well. Good news! Staff member helpful and polite. I was very glad that I was told that carbon monoxide alarm needed to be replaced. Also about correct location for this alarm as I did not know about this.

Always good. The Staff are a pleasure to de4al with and the workers are prompt, polite and cheerful. Their product knowledge is immense.

Gavin's expertise meant that we received a flawless boiler replacement, helped by his patient explanation of the intricacies of the process throughout.

Additionally, his diligence and care meant that the flushing of our radiators afterwards was completed efficiently and importantly without any mess.

Sorry that I now have to update this review. The Landlord certificate incorrectly detailed that all tests to my boiler failed. I have contacted Blackhall for a corrected certificate to be sent to me ASAP. Several weeks have passed, now, but to date I appear to be getting ignored. I am worried if there is now an incident with my boiler, my insurance will not cover any damage caused. Really disappointed in a Company that I have used for many years.
