Great service and very accommodating of 2 boisterous kids!

I bought my blue Renault Clio automatic from Brayleys Westcroft in June 2025, aged 19 and only a month after passing my test. It was my dream car, so despite it being significantly more expensive than similar Clios, I was excited to finally own it.

Unfortunately, problems started within the first week. The listing incorrectly stated the car had a 1.3L engine when it was actually 1.6L and a hybrid. I began experiencing issues with the speed-limit display and reversing camera. As the car came with a 3-year warranty, I took it back to Brayleys, but despite waiting until October for it to be looked at, I was told nothing was wrong. They did, however, carry out several recalls, including one relating to the gearbox.

After getting the car back, it began holding gears and making a horrific noise. When I raised this, I was told it was simply a “characteristic of the car”, despite it never doing this before. On other occasions, the car wouldn’t even select a gear. Again, I was told these were just system glitches.

I repeatedly raised concerns about the gearbox and even considered rejecting the car, but I continued driving it because I trusted what I was being told.

In August 2026, while driving home from holiday, the car suddenly stalled **while I was driving on a roundabout**, and the gearbox locked. We had to be recovered by the AA to Brayleys Westcroft. This was extremely frightening, especially knowing I had spent almost a year reporting gearbox problems.

Brayleys once again told us they couldn't replicate the issue and that there was nothing wrong with the car. Yet, once again, they carried out further recalls, including one involving the ECU. After a year of being told the car was fine, I found this incredibly contradictory.

At this point, I wanted nothing more to do with the car or the dealership. Brayleys offered just £9,300 to buy the car back, despite us paying £14,999 for it and other garages offering between £10,000 and £11,500.

When we went to collect the car, we were initially told they couldn't release it because it was the weekend and the keys were supposedly locked away. After an extremely frustrating confrontation, the keys were suddenly produced within minutes.

This entire experience has been exhausting, stressful and has seriously affected my confidence as a driver. I feel we were repeatedly dismissed and misled, despite raising genuine concerns from the beginning.

I have evidence including emails, voicemails, photographs and paperwork to support everything I've said.

My advice: avoid Brayleys Westcroft. Don't buy a car from them, sell one to them, or let them work on your car. I sincerely hope this review prevents someone else from going through what I have

Made picking up a new car extremely easy! Super customer service. No fuss, no hassle… everything ready to go and we were off enjoying ourselves in our fun new R5.

Between me, my husband and my dad we bought three cars from Danny from Brayleys in Milton Keynes and he incredible the whole way through from the initial quotes and ordering through to helping with some part exchanges and showing us through the final vehicle that was collected last week.

Really good customer service today, offered to follow up with Renault on our behalf after bad experience at another dealership.

Very happy with the service, car was cleaned too, inside and out.

The booking process was simple with extremely polite customer service. The service took nearly three hours but everything that was completed was advised clearly on the paperwork.

James was very helpful and knowledgeable. All the sales staff were friendly, no pressure at all. You're free to look around without being jumped on.
The whole process from checking out the car, test drive, ordering and collection was very smooth with plenty of communication throughout.

Chevk in was efficient. However the courtesy car I booked in March, was not arranged. Love that the car was cleaned after yhe service/mot. All paperwork was clearly explained and service record completed.

I came in and asked for a Renault twingo for my dad with 1 pedal breaking and was told they won’t be available until minimum October so my dad. He liked the Renault 5 but we were told that it didn’t have 1 pedal breaking but he accepted that and we ordered one. We came back a couple of days later for a test drive and the showroom had one that he sat in which did have the paddles that I was told didn’t exist on the Renault 5. I asked about it and was told again it doesn’t come on the 5. It didn’t sit right with me so I called around and did a bit of my own research to find out that any made after April DID have the 1 pedal breaking. It was the only thing my dad even wanted yet no one told me if you wait only 4 more weeks you can have the one specific thing you’re buying a Renault for. We re ordered a newer car and waited the extra couple of weeks. The salesman never called about this yet asked me to give him a 5star rating! I had asked multiple times for the service plan to be added on to the order. On arrival it was not on it and I was told that the salesman had forgotten as he had 6 handovers that day and said we could come back to sort it out another day. We went back 3 days later to be told that the service plan that should have been £300 was now £500. The price had changed after we ordered the car and asked for it to be added but it was not honoured even though it was not our fault that someone missed it despite me confirming we wanted it multiple times. We have not brought the service plan now. And I’m far from impressed with the service. This is my dads first ever brand new car at 78years old and I can’t believe the hassle. I would not recommend this Renault to anyone.

Comfortable waiting area with nice coffee. Some Renault and Dacia vehicles in the showroom to look at while you wait. However I did not appreciate my car being parked two wheels up a high kerb when it was ready. I checked my alloys straight away and very carefully drove off the kerb. Whilst I understand there are parking issues in the area I will be asking that my car is not parked like that again at next service. I would prefer a walk to my car than see it like that in future.

Great experience, the dealership is conveniently located, the salesman who greeted us (Andrew White) was knowledgeable and very friendly. He arranged an on the spot test drive, which resulted in us buying a new R4! He kept us fully informed during the short delivery wait, and has followed up after delivery with courtesy calls to make sure we were happy.

The work was done well and the staff were all helpful and friendly but I have taken a star off for 2 things: There is nowhere to park. There are signs up saying customer parking but even though I was there quite early there is no free spaces. You really should have spaces that are purely for service customers as having to park on the double yellow lines is not a great look. My second issue is, even though I asked for something to look at well in advance, the issue required a spare part to be ordered and I have to go back for a second visit, which given they are not open on a weekend, requires another day off work. I would have hoped that the part could have been ordered in time for it to be fitted on the day. If the mechanics were unaware of the issue until the day of the appointment then maybe someone should be reviewing appointments in advance.
