Being able to build new lego sets every month had been so fun! We love lego, but wouldn't be able to afford a new set all the time, or be able to display the finished pieces so this really fills that brick building urge. We've had 3 sets so far and each one has been really great, never any missing pieces, super easy to order each time and return instructions are always included. We have the mystery subscription as there are just so many to choose from and we love getting a surprise when we open the box. Would 100% recommend to lego fans! We would even upgrade to the better subscription next time so we can choose our sets but for now we like the mystery box!

All I can say is what a company and what great guys who run it! Fantastic service and a fantastic way to enjoy all the different Lego builds :)

This is such an amazing idea! We have got our 4th borrow and still loving the service.. this allows us to build lego sets we would never of bought due to space or money... So fun to build with my husband and even great to enjoy them for sometime too as there is no time limit.. great amount of sets to borrow.. will 1000% recommend!!!

It's a good idea and have borrowed numerous sets, sadly there are ALWAYS bricks missing, not loads, maybe 3 or 4 per set. I always notify them so next borrower doesn't have same issue but others don't, it seems.

Sets can be bit messy, few times I've had long strands of hair in the amongst the bricks that definitely arent mine lol.

Lots of sets to pick from, though they could do with some new sets as it's the same ones every time. For bigger sets like Titanic etc they are never available. They offer a notify when available option but honestly, that's a waste of time, I have genuinely been online when the notification has come through and went to the site within seconds of receiving email just to see the set has been borrowed already, this has happened EVERY time I have set up notification, so they could do with looking into that as the sets are obviously borrowed again before the notification email is sent out.

I give 4 stars as it is a good idea but I'll probably cancel my subscription soon as the sets I really want are just never available and would probably be better just buying them then selling on after

Really simple system for borrowing sets. All came packaged well and with easy returns information. So many great sets to choose from. My son was very excited when he saw the box arrived. Definitely a much more affordable way to enjoy LEGO for those who enjoy building the sets.

If you love Lego this is the way forward.
A fantastic idea, I have had hours and hours of enjoyment building some incredible sets.
Excellent value for money especially if you like building Lego but don’t want to keep them.
The only downside for me if that you can keep the sets for as long as you like so getting some of the more popular is difficult because they go quickly or people hold on to them.
I think a one month limit or 2 month limit on a 2set subscription would help free up the sets quicker.
But all in all a brilliant company

We got this subscription for my son’s birthday last year and I have to say, what an incredible company. My son loves Lego but I never know what to do with it once he has made it so when I heard about Brick Borrow it is a such genius idea. The fact it comes addressed to my son gets him so excited and it comes with everything you need from the instruction books, to the return label and packaging to the LEGO itself, it’s just all there and so easy. He has borrowed so many sets over the year and I think only had 1 piece of Lego missing out of all of them and thankfully it wasn’t a crucial piece. He has even had brand new sets where he has been the first one to open them. The company don’t chase you to send them back so you can do them in your own time and customer service is fantastic. There are so many different sets to choose from as well so we renewed his subscription for his birthday again this year and have recommended this company to so many people. Highly recommend these guys. Perfect for any Lego fan

Been a member for almost a year now and just love Brickborrow. It’s an affordable way to build lots of different Lego sets without having to find the space to display them when built, especially those sets you would like to build but not necessarily keep, and it’s a lot easier on the bank account! From quick builds to more complex builds, they have sets to cover all ages, and pretty much every theme imaginable. Good affordable subscriptions and they are great to give as a gift. I gave my daughter and her partner a subscription as a gift at Christmas and they are loving brickborrow too! So if you or the kids love Lego, go check out Brickborrow and give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!

What a fantastic company - not only a great idea, keeps my son busy and very fairly priced with a good variety of sets to choose from, they have always been really fast replying to any enquiries and super friendly, they are a pleasure to deal with. We will be customers for a very long time! I recommend to all LEGO fans and wish them every success which I’m sure they will have if they continue the way they are.

When I found this business, I was quite excited. There is an issue that isn’t clear when you initially sign up.

Issues
1) the issue is the availability of sets - its difficult to get the larger more popular sets (UCS and the like). They’re almost never available and when they come available they’re snapped up again in seconds or because of the level of your subscription, you’re already borrowing and can’t borrow another. This ultimately means that unless you subscribe as a master builder (where you can borrow two sets at a time) and hold one of your borrowing slots as a contingency for when sets come available - well, you’ll be stuck in an endless loop of borrowing the smaller sets which themselves often aren’t available and missing out on the larger sets which rarely become available.
2) shipping cost - the company isn’t fully transparent in respect of the fact that every time you borrow, you have to pay a £5 postage fee - this is not crystal clear when you initially subscribe. I think the wording is ‘we’ll handle the return and provide a postage label’ without mentioning that you pay for it.

Positives
1) the customer service is very good - they respond swiftly and are always friendly - can’t fault this.
2) they do send the sets out and process returns quickly
3) it’s actually very good value for money - if all the sets were a little more available, it would be an absolute bargain.

Overall
It’s good - but if you’re hoping to be able to borrow larger sets - you need to give consideration to opt for the max subscription.

*Edit* - since providing this review I received a call from the business, I was to be clear that there was no request or expectation for me to change this review - I have chosen to update this. The business have been clear that they are expanding and growth takes time, they have also taken on board the feedback in respect of the postage. I must say - this just further solidifies my point that the business really cares, has genuine good intentions and excels in customer care. For that reason alone - the business should be supported because I can’t think of a customer service function as effective as this teams.

I’ve absolutely love using Brick Borrow. The subscription service is such a fantastic idea and has given me the chance to enjoy so many fun and interesting builds without needing to buy every set outright.

One of the best things about it has been trying sets I probably would never have chosen to purchase myself, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed them. It’s really expanded the types of builds I’ve experienced and kept the whole hobby feeling fresh and exciting.

The service has always been easy to use, reliable, and great value for money. If you love building but don’t necessarily want to commit to buying every set, I honestly can’t recommend Brick Borrow enough!

This is a great scheme where you can borrow great Lego sets. We’ve had a real range of sets to suit everyone in the family and it’s been great fun building together.

Brick borrow is the absolute best way to get a Lego building fix and not worry about having to display them afterwards. In addition to that we get to build sets that I wouldn’t normally even think about buying.

Fantastic service, we have made so many great sets and a great variety of themes. It’s a great gift too, we had a yearly membership as a wedding present! Really happy to use this as a couple who love Lego!

Brick borrow is revolutionary, I love building the sets and having the flexibility of the sets we can borrow.

Also it has saved me a fortune and space as I have no where to store full sets and this gives me the option to build so many different sets. I can’t recommend this company enough.

I've been a member for 5 months now.
The customer service has been excellent. When sending queries, the responses are fast, friendly and professional.
And it's great to be able to borrow sets that would cost over £60 to buy.
However, I have some reservations on the service itself.
(1) I rarely get to borrow the sets I'd really like. I add a request to know when sets are back in stock, but notifications come through when I already have a set - and, by the time I've sent it back, the one I requested has been borrowed again.
Not sure why the company let people borrow sets indefinitely - this seems impractical and a poor business model.
(2) The website. It's so clunky! You can't search, can't see your favourites until you're able to borrow. (There's a filter option but that operates poorly on mobiles.) A complete redesign is needed, I think.
(3) Of the 5 sets I've borrowed, there have been pieces missing in every set except one (and that was a new set). You can request the missing pieces but that loses the momentum in building your Lego.
(4) The turnaround is usually 7 days between sending a set back and being able to borrow again. Not sure if this is the Royal Mail being slow or their processing of returned sets. They raise expectations by advertising a 48 hour turnaround but this doesn't include posting time.

The jury is out on whether I'll decide to renew next year. The idea is brilliant but the execution falls a bit short - for all the above reasons.

If you are a Lego nut, young or old and are fed up with shelling out loads of money on sets and then wondering what to do with them when they are built, then BRICK BORROW is the definite place for you. For a modest membership fee, you can choose from hundreds of very different sets, you order, they ship them to you, you build them, you take them apart and send them back. When they receive them, you order again. It’s as simple and efficient as that.
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and do everything that they possibly can to sort out any problems that you may have.

They have great advertising and let you browse all the cool sets before you join, but once you do, you have to wait for months before you manage to get an alert for one of the cool ones and by the time you try to reserve it, it’s gone, or after managing to choose one that was back “in stock”, they tell you that was an issue and you’ll have to pick another set.

When you do settle for one of the cheaper sets, they almost always have half a dozen or so pieces missing.

If they ran it like a library, with limited borrowing time and reservations, it would likely remove all but the missing pieces issues.

A lovely company with amazing customer service. I love building Lego but have nowhere to put it so being able to borrow it is brilliant. I love seeing other sets that have been built by other customers. Very good price for the subscription with different prices to suit many people
