Table booked for 5.30 but had to wait quite a long time before it was ready. Service after that was super slow. Whilst still waiting for desert the floor manager told us we had to leave at 7.30. We explained that we still didn't have our deserts and his response was, "well you still have to leave in 10 mins."

Had the most amazing meal in the manchester branch. Could not thank the servers enough. Were amazing through the whole night and the cocktails were expectional

The staff were excellent, but there were a few issues with the food.
1. I ordered prawn and crab linguine. It was quite tasteless and couldn't detect any crab amongst my 6 prawns
2. Creme brulee with berries was ordered. It came with no berries
3. White Americano coffee was ordered. It was served black. I asked for some hot milk It was served cold
It was very noisy in the restaurant making general conversation on our table of 5 very difficult. A disappointing visit

Went for a pre theatre meal and had a great meal and service. Waitress name was Ada and she was very attentive.

The vibrant decor and warm lighting created a wonderful atmosphere. I sampled the mixed platter as an appetizer, which allowed me to taste a variety of dishes, each one better than the last. The highlight of my meal was the chicken korma—creamy, nutty, and aromatic, it was simply divine. The dessert selection was equally impressive; I opted for the coconut barfi, which was sweet and rich. The staff was knowledgeable and passionate about the food, enhancing my experience even further. I can't wait to return!

I purchased a gift card from the Browns website and was overcharged. When I contacted Browns, they informed me that their gift cards are outsourced to mabgiftcards and advised me to reach out to them directly. I contacted Mabgiftcards but received no reply or acknowledgment.

I followed up with Browns again, but they were still unable to help and only said they had forwarded my complaint to Mabgiftcards. Once again, no response or acknowledgment.

I would recommend avoiding this service, as if anything goes wrong, no one seems to take responsibility or show any interest in helping.

Have had 2 visits to Browns in Covent Garden in last 5 weeks. 1 time 4 of us and second time 12 of us, spent nearly £1500. All meal choices excellent, service excellent. However we won't go back again as we weren't given the choice to pay in cash. First time I pointed out that website said preferred card so paid cash but told no change?! Second time said definitely not be able to pay in cash. Think very short sighted to refuse cash and shame as the food, ambience, and smiling helpful staff all makes for a lovely time. I know some may think what difference if all good but I think we should be given freedom of choice and be able to use currency before it disappears forever and all our experiences are shared like the whereabouts of a cat with a GPS collar! Just my view.

Would have been a 3.5 based on the food but my waitress bought this all the way down. Service was terrible. Had to get her attention 40 mins after finishing the meal to order dessert and as we wanted more drinks. After they took dessert away after 45mins(yes we timed this) we got up to ask another staff member for the bill and card machine so we could continue our evening somewhere else (we tried to alert or waitress several times saying hey or excuse me or waving we were ignored people around us even turned around as they heard us). All in all a sad experience.
The food was ok. I had a rotten potato in my roast (literally black) and the stuffing was a dry rock.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

First time I’ve been to Browns restaurant in Sheffield and I was so impressed , the place itself is beautiful and the meal absolutely delicious. The service was good and they were very friendly I will definitely be going back soon !

My Son treated me to Brunch on Sunday in Browns @ George Square Glasgow & it didn’t disappoint. Food was lovely especially the Gluten Free Menu which had a great selection and the Service was fantastic! our server was a lovely lady called Jill who was so friendly & helpful and very efficient 10/10 we will definitely be back 👍😊⭐️

Cheerful welcome from the person at the front desk. Helpful waiter Ilyas - I was first there for a lunch with a large group. Ilyas helpfully brought me my drink & pay machine so I didn’t need to go to the bar (walking with a crutch!). Food pleasant & good for lunch. Good atmosphere. Tables nicely laid out for our group - I enjoyed it!
Only dropped to 4 out of 5 as the accessible loo wasn’t accessible - bunch of keys in the lock & I couldn’t pull the door open?

Went to the Covent Garden branch although usually go to Victoria. The food was nice and the staff were pleasant although their communication with regards to cost is not great. I ordered from the Theatre Menu, a set menu where a 3 course meal is supposed to be £29.50 until you order the Ribeyed steak where there is an additional £6 charge and £2.95 for the peppercorn sauce that I was asked if I wanted and did not ask for. The type on the menu is so small and the lighting is very dim that if you have a visual impairment you would not be aware of extra charges. The bill for my set meal came to £35.50 + the £2.95 for the sauce. When I spoke with 'The Manager' I assumed, as she did not introduce herself, she said we all have to make money and the Lemonade I ordered was not free. I was not querying my drink or asking for free food or drink it was the cost of the set meal and the lack of communication and the fact she assumed I had great visibility and her attitude was a matter of fact. Also my friend asked if she can swap the main meal from the Theatre Menu to one on the main menu, she was told she could not although they brought her the wrong main dish that was only available from the Theatre Menu. Luckily she did not mind the meal she was given. I won't be going there again!

Browns, West India Quay, London. The restaurant had been booked a month in advance for a 70th birthday celebration. 6 couples had travelled from different parts of Britain to attend. The reservation was for 12 at 20:30 on Sunday 12 May. Prior to the meal we were attending a concert. After arriving at the concert venue I got a call from the restaurant saying they were short on food, no fish and very little choice available. I asked them to text/email a list so we could take a look. I still thought we would get a meal. Just before the concert started I got an email saying our booking had been cancelled. This left us high and dry, trying to find a restaurant for a group of 12 at 21:00 on a Sunday evening. Even in London, that is a big ask on a Sunday night. We ended up eating at our hotel, sitting on separate tables. Hardly the celebration meal we had planned. It ruined the occasion. Shoddy management and a complete disrespect for customers.

Browns Beaconsfield- Booked a table for 5 people for a special birthday meal. The service was very slow to take orders of drinks and food. It was very quiet only one other table dining in the restaurant area on arrival. We had to ask the waiter on 3 occasions for drink refills and still didn't get the drinks we had ordered. There was a lot of food that was on the menu that was not available to order as they had ran out. The adult main meals were very hot and nicely presented but we were disappointed with the children's pasta portion size was only 2 spoonfuls of pasta. We had to wait a long time again for desserts order and was given different flavoured desserts to what was described in the menu. We had to wait a long time to pay the bill. We was not given a breakdown of the bill costs and was just asked to tap my payment card without knowing what we were being charged. It was a shame as it was for a special birthday treat. The food was tasty but just unfortunate the service could of been better.

Bristol browns was poor, and what made it worse was no cash accepted. Thats just not on

Not many will know or remember that Brown’s used to be an iconic restaurant. It was started by Jeremy Mogford in the 70’s with the first brasserie in Brighton. I lived there then and Brown’s was the place to be. Great atmosphere, food service and legendary chocolate cake and steak and kidney pie. Then the Oxford one came along - equally lovely. Full of energy, spilling out on to the Woodstock road, always struggled to get a table, but it was always worth it. Then more and more opened up, it got sold off to a brewery and the brand disappeared. All that atmosphere and great value became a corporate sludge of poor food, poor service, and bland decor. The Ruislip one is a travesty. There’s no Brown’s left any more. I assume Mogford is just counting his pennies but it’s a sad sign of the times.

Despite the anticipation of a really special meal at Brown's Brasserie & Bar Ruislip , the reality fell short of expectations. On a recent visit for my birthday, my partner and I opted for the Prawn & Devon Crab linguine. However, upon its arrival, we were dismayed to find that the portion size was inadequate for a main course, and to make matters worse, it was not hot. Even after requesting it to be reheated, the dish remained underwhelming. Considering the hefty price tag of £18 each, coupled with a mandatory 10% service charge, the minuscule portion size felt like a slap in the face, especially given the purported inclusion of Devon Crab, which was virtually non-existent. The presence of a few prawns did little to salvage the situation. While the ambiance and décor of the Brasserie were commendable, and the service satisfactory, these positives ultimately paled in comparison to the disappointing quality of the food. Regrettably, this experience has left me with no desire to return, as it represented a significant lack of value for money.
