From the beginning, Build store and Laura in particular,) were extremely helpful and supportive. Understanding the needs for my mortgage and how best to pace me and the scenario I have (a SIPS panel house). They were quick and communicated really well - I thoroughly recommend.

I was so happy with the service provided from BuildStore. James Park and Aysha Mill were both so helpful and very responsive throughout the process. I ended with a mortgage offer I was more than happy with. The process was smooth and completed quicker than expected. They were understanding and never judgemental of my situation. Their support did not end once I’d paid my commission after I received my offer. They were there until I completed. I would definitely recommend. Thank you.

Don’t use them!!! They do not care about you as a customer! They purely work to gain their commission and not to get you what you need. They refuse to acknowledge when they are wrong and you will get no apology for them being a complete shower.

Brilliant from start to finish. Great communication and supported the whole mortgage process to perfection. Cannot recommend enough.

Although a large organisation, large organisations depend on the people at the sharp end dealing with clients. So often the facet dealt with poorly is communication , both within the organisation and with the client.
A caring attitude toward the client is also very much valued for those in the often bewildering process of obtaining a mortgage.
Having successfully helped navigate me through the delicate process of gaining funding for a self build project whilst maintaining my own home I have been more than impressed with Buildloan.
In particular Shaun Smith and Fiona Robb have been professional throughout the process and presented information in an user friendly form.
The help has continued after the completion of the mortgage when further information was required from the solicitors and underwriters.
The only slight but good humoured discord has centred on the quality of rugby played by our respective nations.

This company (BuildLoan aka BuildStore) is a terrible entity to deal with. Their communications are poor at the best of times, partly due to the interface through their portal which makes it difficult to track conversations, resulting in a lot of repetition and tail chasing. Case workers are liable to go offline at no notice for weeks at a time, leaving you with no access to advice or funds. I have been waiting for more than 9 weeks for a request for funds to be passed to the mortgage lender. This delay in processing is costing me a lot of money. It is impossible to get an update from BuildLoan/BuildStore.

Proactive, maintained good communication throughout, couldn't ask for much more.

Shaun smith has been an asset to buildstore with his clear communication and ensuring the correct mortgage for my self build. I can’t thank him enough for all his help securing me the best mortgage for my needs.

Very impressed with Buildstore and the service they provided - would definitely recommend. We initially dealt with Stuart who was very helpful, informative, knowledgeable and provided good advice for us. We were then assigned to Gordon with Nigel helping whilst Gordon was on holiday - both again were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a tight timescale and all the team supported to help progress things as quickly and efficiently as they could.

Brilliant company, have been invaluable in helping us navigate self build finance as well be the liaison between the lender and us challenges inevitably arose.

What an absolute waste of space. I took out a mortgage with Chorley BS, but unfortunately I had to deal with build loan for stage releases. The portal is a waste of space, when you can access it. Questions make no sense and very poor English. They ask you to sign docs but you end up chasing your tail trying to find something to sign only to end up where you started. Such a waste of time and mortgage companies should look else where. AVOID BUILD LOAN and BUILD STORE (same company)

Pretty straight for the vast majority of process over the last 3 years. Slight challenges when you build out of the "traditional" sequence. ie fitting a kitchen and doors before you finished plaster boarding the whole house.

My son was at the bottom of a buyer chain in which BuildLoan was providing financing. The pressure was intense, because we were racing to complete the purchase before the Stamp Duty deadline of the 31st March. If it didn’t complete within that timeline then my son would have been unable to buy the house of his dreams. Michael Cartwright of BuildLoan was a total breath of fresh air. He was responsive, professional and honest. He kept us appraised of progress at all times - which kept us sane during a very stressful period. It’s clear that he cares deeply about the people who he deals with and that is a sign of excellent customer service. Buying a house for the first time is one of life’s biggest decisions. It’s a time when you need someone like Michael on your side. A huge thank you for helping us to wrestle our purchase over the line.

Buildstore have been absolutely fantastic in helping us to secure our loan. We came across a few hurdles but the whole team really helped us to get it over the line.

Great service by Buildloan, its a really useful way to get a mortgage on a property conventional mortgages wont touch. Great communication and easy customer portal, I dealt mostly with Tommy Walker who was great but everyone else I spoke with seemed very helpful.
