Love my new heat pump & getting more use of it with the weather being colder. I have an old stone cottage, built into the side of a hill & was led to believe that it would be difficult for a heat pump to cope. Not true - it’s doing a great job. Downside- it’s quite big & takes up quite a bit of space in my small garden. I’m hoping the environmental advantages make up for it.

I cannot warn people strongly enough about CB Heating (EDF Heat Pumps). This has been the worst customer experience I have ever had with any contractor.

From the outset, the installation was riddled with serious faults — including live electric cables left exposed, which resulted in my builder being electrocuted. This was not just careless; it was dangerous. No one from CB Heating took accountability for this health and safety breach.

Despite repeated visits by different engineers, the system still does not function properly. The hot water pressure is inadequate, the heating fails to reach the upper floors, and we suspect the system was running on emergency immersion settings for two months, causing extreme energy bills — all this despite having solar panels and battery storage. Multiple engineers have acknowledged issues, but I have yet to receive a single formal report.

The outdoor unit was delivered damaged, with dented grilles, and although CB Heating promised to repair this, nothing was done. Improper pipework, incorrect pressure pump installation, and unprofessional behaviour from senior management only added to the nightmare. One them mistakenly sent an internal email to me talking very ill of my person.

To top it off, after raising all of these concerns, I was met with threatening legal letters demanding full payment — despite the fact that the installation is incomplete and defective. They even claiming for unpaid gas and electric bill when I’m with Octupus. I was even falsely accused of cancelling the finance agreement, which I did not do. CB Heating’s managing director has sent aggressive emails with unfounded legal threats, completely ignoring the long list of unresolved faults. They claiming for the full amount for the installation including the BUS funding £7500, which I’ve received confirmation from Ofgem that EDF have successfully claimed/received.

This entire ordeal has taken a major toll on my family’s wellbeing. The stress has been so severe that I had to withdraw from a postgraduate scholarship worth £20,000. I have spent over £100,000 on my home with other reputable contractors with no issues — CB Heating stands alone in its lack of professionalism, accountability, and technical competence.

I sent two formal complaints to EDF which was ignored. I have now referred the matter to HIES, Ofgem, and NAPIT, and I will not hesitate to pursue legal action. If you value your home, your safety, and your sanity, stay away from CB Heating.

Since my review I can see EDF has claimed that I have fabricated the claim. If anyone wishes to connect with me please find my on Google review: I will send copies of emails, pictures, videos, emails from Ofgem confirming EDF received the BUS payment of £7500. My heating still doesn't work on the top floor and the pressure pump never worked. They are so proud of their partnership and their influence that they have forgotten their values.

I've been left with a system that makes very loud bangs every time it reaches desired temperature. Have to turn off at night to stop the banging. I've been calling every other day for a month with no call backs till today to say can't fix till new year.
I sent an email a couple of weeks ago saying I would report to MCS to which the MD replied telling me not to threaten them and that things would be fixed.
Cold weather due next week and a system I cant use at night, great Christmas.
On top of this neighbours have complained to council about the noise.
Only had the system a couple of months and I've lost any faith that this and any future problems will be fixed in anything like a timely manner.
20/1/26 It has now been fixed. A lot of the delay was down to a 3rd party contractor so I will improve my rating. Pity they don't keep things in house so would have more control on outcomes.

Good communication, brilliant installers , tidy and nothing was to much trouble.

Poor at best, the quality of the installation was terrible and they refused to address the issue, my advice don’t do it..

Really excellent experience right from the initial discussions to the final installation. The customer support we received throughout from Lana B was exceptional - quick to respond and provided regular updates. Could not have wished for a better experience. Writing in praise of EDF and their sub contractor Amalfii Heating, our air source heat pump installation and radiator replacement went very well and was completed to a very good standard. Communication from EDF was excellent at every stage of the process. Special thanks go to Samantha Barlow and Stephanie Byrne.

EDF were very quick to process our heart pump as we had no central heating. It was only a few weeks between first enquiring and installation. The work was done professionally and the installers were courteous and knowledgeable. Great service and highly recommended. The heat pump is working beautifully and we have a lovely cosy house again.

The whole installation process was carried out very professionally, the care taken was exceptional and the work was very tidy and neat. The performance of our system has not disappointed, it is lovely to come home to a warm environment.

I had great service, very helpful staff to fit my heat pump and very helpful staff on the phone that gave me great support when ever I phone them up .
The heat pump has helped me alot as I have got brain problems and I keep fulling over so have my heating done is great for me and makes my life easier, as before I had a coal fire that was taken out because I would not be able to manage taking the ashes out and getting my coal in, my fella had to keep helping me.

Following on from my initial review we have now had the new heating system in place and working for three months. It has proved, so far, to be the best heating system we have ever had!

It has brought our house "back to life" with every room warm and cosy! The system is simple to control, just the touch of a button and in a very short time the house is warm.

EDF have done a fantastic job installing a heating system which is extremely efficient and cost effective. Thank you again EDF for a brilliant heating system and a brilliant job. Very well done!

What is there not to like about EDF before you choose competitive pricing ,MCS quality installation, heat as good as old system promise, Save 164 energy costs with Heat Pump Tracker. The process was very organised being seamlessly handed from department/company to department/company and finally the installation team. Sylvia my final contact before installation monitored progress of my structural engineer and planning permission (the vast majority of people don’t need either of these) and arranged the installation date to suit me. She is a great understanding, communicator and made the final process stress free. I highly recommend EDF for heat pumps and am about to try them installing solar panels.

Stephen Hayward slowly and clearly dealt with all our concerns about our new heat pump.
We can now relax in our warm home secure in the knowledge that we know how to control our heating system , deal with minor problems or know where to seek further help if necessary.

Generally good, some very good and some not so.

The good was: overall design, after correcting some of the survey radiator sizes; the Ideal heatpump and hotwater tank system; the hard work of the installers.
The very good was the customer operations advisor Ramya, who always deal promptly and thoroghly with my queries.
The not so good was the lack of a proper hand-over, and an on-going issue with the heat pump not utilising existing solar and battery power to reduce power costs.

Ramya has answered all my many questions and provided clear and helpful advice.

Without his support I might have experienced serious delays or even had to postpone the installation of my heat pump

Love how quick and efficient everything was. Was updated daily with what was happening, install job was done in just over 3 days, Andy was very knowledgeable.

Not keen on the radiators but can’t have everything. System works well and my home is lovely and warm.

I can’t recommend Brayden enough! He has a fantastic attitude, is genuinely a really nice guy, and went above and beyond. When my builders were unsure about which pipes to keep exposed, he jumped right in on a zoom and even came round to the site to help further. A real pleasure to work with—professional, helpful, and just an all-around great guy.
