I recently used CJ Bloor Property Consultants Ltd for a Level 3 Home Survey. From the first telephone call all the way through to receiving the report the team were professional, efficient and extremely helpful. The report was clear, detailed and easy to understand.
I would definitely recommend C J Bloor to anyone seeking a thorough and reliable property survey.

We used CJ Bloor for a level 3 survey leading up to our first home purchase, and it was the best decision we made. The report by Michael Thompson was incredibly detailed, clear and thorough. The report flagged up several issues that we'd not expected, but talking through the report with Michael over the phone helped us realize that while it was a bit of a project to get everything safe and comfortable to live, the fabric of the house was sound. Michael answered every question we had clearly and thoroughly. As long as we were comfortable with the time, effort, and money for a project, this could still work for us.

Using the survey report, we were able to negotiate a good reduction on the purchase price (about 5% of the total price), and followed through to purchasing our home.

Now that we are in and have made a start on the project, we uncovered a few surprises that were beyond the scope of a survey to pick up (e.g. scary-looking cracks in walls hidden behind heavy furniture or clutter). We got in touch with CJ Bloor again and spoke through the issues with Michael Turnbull who was very kind and reassured us based on the description and pictures of the type of wall from the survey that it was likely thermal movement and nothing to be overly concerned by, but asked us to send over some pictures by email. We did this, and he reviewed these with our original surveyor and sent a very detailed response outlining the likely causes and a few remedial actions we could take in the near future.

Consistently above and beyond the level of service I expected, I would thoroughly recommend if you are considering a survey for your first home purchase.

Clear and regular communication about the date of the survey. Arranged a date quickly. Comprehensive report on the condition of the property which identified some important issues. Report issued right on time. Not the cheapest quote I had but very professional service.

Due to a positive experience the first time around, we used CJ Bloor for a second time after our first chain broke down. We got an evaluation in addition to a level 2 survey, and points raised in both made us realise that we had to renegotiate on the house price. During the process Michael was available to answer the myriad of questions we had and helped us to fully understand the risks associated with each point in a level headed way. I’ve had a great experience using this company regarding the sale of our property. From first contact where I asked for clarification on the service I needed, a member of the team called me and talked me through the options. Once booked the property survey and valuation was done quickly and efficiently with paperwork arriving ahead of the timeframe advised. I then needed to extend the valuation and Michael called and talked me through the options. Our house sale has been delayed meaning I needed another valuation completing and once I put through the enquiry Michael called me again to check everything was okay, a really lovely touch to the service provided.

Never used this company before but got hold of my email from somewhere and sent unsolicited emails to my private email address. Shady company and has been reported to the ombudsman and the police. AVOID!
