You need to be desperate to choose Cox cable. The service, the charges & the customer support are horrible!
I canceled my bundle after the charges kept escalating. 4 lines down to 2, killed the TV service & kept the internet. A year later, I canceled the internet & 8 months later canceled the last 2 lines. Now, 4 months later they want to charge me for not canceling the phone lines, saying the conversation was not in their notes.
I've never felt more frustrated talking to someone who is regurgitating nonsense on behalf of a company that I have paid for services for over 20 years!

Upset Agent ragequit chat
In the middle of a support chat the cox agent ended the chat prematurely while we were in the middle of trying to set up a technician visit because I asked them to adjust my bill to reflect the lack of service so far this month. Agent immediately got clearly upset, then lied to me about the speed test we both had just attempted, and then ended the chat without scheduling the technician.
Terrible service.
Stuck as the only provider in my area. Service is overpriced for what you get and have been left with no or inconsistent internet on multiple occasions.

If I could give it zero stars, I would! Cox is the worst company ever for internet service! When you call in, they laugh at you, tell you they can't help you, or simply hang up on you! I've had billing issues since the first of the year and have tried on numerous occasions to get it fixed! They decided after 6 months to increase my bill from 54$ to 120$ with no explanation, nothing had changed in my house, we weren't using more internet as they claimed. Then they tried to charge me 75$ extra for a payment that didn't go through. It didn't go through because they were trying to get an amount higher than I authorized! I do not recommend anyone use this company!

They have gone completely AI even representatives are slow to answer. There is no more costumer service number to call no email just a chat that doesn’t seem to help either. So if you get Cox and have trouble you will get frustrated. Internet connection is extremely poor as well. Sometimes for hours but the worst is you get zero internet many times a day. Consistently. Don’t get Cox!
Cox blocked. What a joke! Class action lawsuit?
They made it ridiculously challenging to cancel service. I have had daily outages for the past 6 months. They were charging 170 per month for Internet I was unable to use. I finally was able to get att fiber for 70 per month. Not a single outage. I am not paying the final bill. I did not receive the service I was billed for. I will start a class action lawsuit before I pay cox a single penny. It is the principal. They certainly can call for money but not to address customer concerns. Credits should not have to be requested and begged for when your service is out 75 percent of the time. I work from home and my daughter attends school online. At the end of the day they owe me money.

They are very expensive and they have so many outages anymore. Uaed to be okay with outages but since they joined hands with spectrum they have gotten a 1000 times worse! As soon as I can get away from this company I am. If you like paying for things you can use go with cox if you like it when you pay for something and like to use it stay AWAY from cox!

Horrible service, If the wind blew service would be interrupted, They tell you unlimited service witch is a lie, Price lock guarantee is definitely a lie, Prices double and no notice of increase, Ive moved to starlink and love it!!

I will never use this service again. They don't do good with explaining the extra charges. They will let you speak to AI instead of a human about your slow services and bill that is constantly going up. Never again.
I signed up for the COX Five yr Plan
I signed up for the COX Five yr. Plan That's the beginning of My COX nightmare. I payed $77.04 for Internet & landline phone. I paid $8.27 for cell mobile. I pay all my bills w/Billpay from my bank. From signup I paid SIX(6) more COX bills totaling$255.02. COX could not find my bill payments in my account but they could nicely keep raising my bills to FEED their COX DIET w/my $$s. Went to two COX stores for help only to find out that I should check w/my bank to see if my SSSCU bank checking account had been withdrawn of $255.02 by COX. YES it was. COX could not find the payments I made in my COX account. Still not resolved, this is the worst of the worst ever. AM still in a terrible situation as COX keeps raising my bills, I keep paying & COX can't find my paid bills. Stay away from COX.
COX SUX -- WORST COMPANY EVER TO DEAL WITH
This company SUCKS. I have Power of Atty for Financial for my aunt who has an acct there (Sierra Vista, AZ) and she is now in memory care. I need to close her acct out (I live in Houston, TX) and her online id / pwd are invalid b/c she had memory issues when she wrote them down so I cannot access the acct. She has 2-step authentication set up and Cox wants to send a code to her phone to verify which she cannot answer b/c she is in ... wait for it ... a memory care facility. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE can seem to bypass this b/c the system protects this like the nuclear lauch codes for the USA. The POA for Financial that I have should supersede ALL of that but somehow, they cannot do anything.
So therefore, I will let this acct go to collections and they will try to collect from a woman who is in ... wait for it ... memory care.
I would rather set fire to my head and put it out with a wet sledgehammer than deal with these clowns ever again.

There is a reason Cox ratings are so low! They charge way too much to pad their pockets compared to other services. Plus I believe they are one of the few companies not offering cheaper rates on internet for senior citizens on fixed incomes.

Trying to change service to a lower monthly bill, customer service line has disconnected 2 times. They want to run a credit check to upgrade me! Worse then trying to leave a time share demo

Horrible customer service. Its essentially a direct line to india. Don't ever put ur payments on auto pay they have a charge fee if it declines. And the indian on the phone admitted its better not having auto pay since they have a forgiveness if missed a payment.

I’ve never been more upset w a company as I am w this company. My mother had her same phone number for 38 years and had Cox for all of that. I had to move her into assisted-living to summer years ago so I had her cable moved and had her home phone number put on a cell phone. I moved her to a different assisted living facility that did not have Cox so obviously I canceled her cable service. Without even notifying me, they canceled her cell phone number which then did not allow me to get her phone number back after 38 years. Then she happened to pass away, so I needed to have access to that phone number even more. At that point because they own the number I could not get it back, I thought I met a wonderful supervisor based in Las Vegas, who was helping me. I wasted months and spent money that was just wasted thinking I was gonna get this phone number back. Then I was just ghosted by this supervisor who wouldn’t even answer my emails after telling me everything was taken care of and we just needed to have one more phone call. So then I went to the Cox store thinking they could help me. Nope. So I wasted months and more than $100 and I can’t get my mother’s phone number back. I will never ever deal with Cox again. I’m trying to convince my son to move his Internet and Wi-Fi do not use this company. They are shady. Don’t care about their customers. So disappointing.
My internet is out again
My internet is out again, for the third time this month, and of course it can’t be fixed today. The first outage lasted four days, the second a full day, and now I’m being told it’ll be another two days before it’s resolved. We’re paying far too much for a service that’s down for days every other week. Our old provider may have been slower, but at least it was reliable.If your job depends on internet access don’t rely on Cox, they’ll leave you hanging. The only thing you can count on is them taking money from your account, whether you’re getting the service you paid for or not. Cox Communications is the worst.
