Great company, ordered a bike helmet and it came really quickly and exactly as described.
I left the Greenwich branch feeling like a piece of dirt
I visited your Greenwich branch today and I left feeling like a piece of dirt.
I was enquiring about having some work done on my bike. The assistant said I could have a bike mot for £15. I replied that I didn't need an mot, I just needed the gears indexing and the brakes adjusting and asked how much it would be. He said if I left it in the shop he could get a price and I agreed to bring it in on Wednesday. I gave my details and just checked that it wouldn't cost anything and he said it will be £15 if I didn't get the work done. I'm other words he was duping me into getting the mot even though I expressly said I didn't need it.
Effectively, he was holding me over a barrel. I'm perfectly capable of doing the work myself but I'm very busy at the moment. He was treating me like an idiot.
The whole time he didn't listen to me he just talked at me in a really arrogant manner. It was really narcissistic and unpleasant.
This is the second visit to the shop. I had a similar experience with him the first time. I'd bought something that I believed was faulty and before I had even had a chance to explain he said I wouldn't be able to get a refund.
Of course I won't return. It's a shame, my company has just moved offices over the road so a good local cycle shop is very handy.
Incidentally, we've just been offered the cycle to work scheme. I know there's been a lot of interest but the first thing I'm going to do tomorrow is to Slack all 40 people to warn them of buying from your shop.
I don't know the name of the shop assistant. He's black and about 6' tall. I doubt if you'll have any problem identifying him. He was working on the till with a woman at about 17.30 today, Monday 16th Sept.

Excellent service, excellent deal on the bike that I bought which was built and delivered incredibly quickly (and was well wrapped/protected in the box which was appreciated).
Staff were super helpful when I called with a query and to change the delivery date; nothing was any trouble and they were flexible, helpful and knew exactly what they were talking about.
I can’t remember the last time I got such straightforward quality customer service, it was so refreshing.
Ordered a chainset
Ordered a chainset. Arrived within 2 days - missing left hand crank. Oops. Returned using instructions on website and full replacement arrived within 2 working days. Good service.
